I've noticed that people around here like surveys and I thought I'd join in on making one! Some of you may know that our first year anniversary of our arrival here in this world is coming up real soon. Like two weeks - give or take a few days. So I thought I'd see who else has been here as long as I have! I feel like I've seen at least most of the "veterans" once or twice and if we haven't talked yet:

I'll answer it first!

1. 16 days away from a year.
2. Nope!
3. Like briefly one person on new arrival day and then never again.
4. Ghoul's Moon.
5. Same answer as above. It was pretty fun fighting all the undead. I guess the Masquerade Ball was pretty okay, too.
6. Maybe? I dunno, this world is a lot better for me than my own.

2. Are there other people from your world here? Yes, Eizen is also here. Though we're from different times. He's from probably about 1,000 years before me.
3. Have there been people from your world that have already gone home? Velvet was here.

5. What's been your favorite "event" so far? Some were better than others? I'd never had a ball thing before though. I guess that was alright.
6. Are you here to live out the rest of your life, or are you looking for a way home? A way home. I have people back home needing me. My abilities. I have a duty to help so. I have to get back. Besides that I miss Mikleo and the others. Not that I wouldn't miss everyone here that I wouldn't have been able to meet back home.

I feel like that all checks out from what I know of you already.

Also, do you ever feel like we got ripped off? Everyone else gets these big events when they show up, but for us it was "Here's a new world, that's all you get!" If I could leave and come back willingly, I'd totally pick the coolest event.

Eh? Ripped off? I don't know. I'm not sure if I'm that worried about arriving to something that big. It was enough to adjust and all when we got here when it was quieter.

I didn't really do the Abyss one, sort of just vegged out on my ship last month. What was it like?

There was a bunch of these levels, getting harder and harder the deeper you go. I made it to the end, but all there was at the end was a lousy bench. Buncha hard work all for nothing.

Oh, this is kinda fun.

6. It's a world with a lot of appeal, and I do treasure the people here...but there are still people waiting for me at home, and too many things I left undone. It would be nice if there was a way to visit, though.

Haven't you noticed that once a month something big happens? Ghost Corsairs, Festivals, the Toy Island, Merpeople home, the Abyss - stuff like that. It's like a pattern. Every month, something big happens and every other month we get new people.

Every two months there's new people...come to think of it, I'd noticed, but I suppose it never really clicked.

Five people, huh? Must be nice to have so many familiar faces around.

Did they return with memories of this place? I know someone who went home and came back with no memories of this place. I'd count them.

And hey, it's fine if you don't know yet. Probably plenty of time to figure it out.

I wouldn't say I was familiar with them before meeting here. It's only my brother, and my Father whom I knew. The other 3, I haven't seen before.

And yes, they did but when they went back, they didn't remember anything...which is strange.

[ Sherlock doesn't know how to respond to the last question because there are parts he wants from both world. Here he has multiple friends and certain social freedoms. However, back home there is John and also a lot less water. (And part of him does miss his brother despite how bad their relationship is.) ]

I thought I arrived on the tenth day of a month, but perhaps I was mistaken. A lot was happening all at once.

[ He was questioning his sanity and dealing with this being a water world with giant leviathans upon arriving here. He could easily be wrong or confused over his exact arrival date. ]

I suppose alternate universe is an apt way of describing it. My brother Mycroft was already here with his friend, but he wasn't the brother I knew from home. He also had his own younger brother named Sherlock, who wasn't me. However, it was not a case of us sharing names. Neither of us were lying about our identities.

Is this really a bad place to spend time before heading to the afterlife?

Those hardly seem like events. More like a natural progression of exploration.

But fine - if that's the case then the first thing I remember is taking on a request to examine a necromancer's work.

And no, 'tis not a 'bad place'. I was simply hoping to finally rest after some twelve thousand years of fruitless labour.

Still a bit hard to believe we've been here for almost a year. Feels like we've started to settle in. But let's see here—

I think I know who I mean on the one who overstayed. Was the other your friend?

Celebrations or other events this place seems to throw at us. I guess technically Capture the Flag and that competition would technically be our first - but it seemed more like a "get to know the opposite side" sort of thing.

4. What was your first "event" in this world? Based on the other answers given, this venerable one believes that 'Ghoul's Moon' was also his first.
5. What's been your favorite "event" so far? Define 'favorite' as you understand it so that this venerable one can answer appropriately.
6. Are you here to live out the rest of your life, or are you looking for a way home? (Optional: Why?) This venerable one must find a way back to his people. He has a duty to them. However, given that time is not the same in this broken world as it is in the Three Realms, potentially having to stay for several millennia before a way back is found is not a possibility to discount needing to occur.

Hm, in your case? Which event did you decide was the least troublesome? Or maybe you even might say you maybe smiled a little? Was it the dragons? I bet you liked having all those dragons around.
