I've noticed that people around here like surveys and I thought I'd join in on making one! Some of you may know that our first year anniversary of our arrival here in this world is coming up real soon. Like two weeks - give or take a few days. So I thought I'd see who else has been here as long as I have! I feel like I've seen at least most of the "veterans" once or twice and if we haven't talked yet:

1. How long have you been here?
2. Are there other people from your world here? (Optional: How many?)
3. Have there been people from your world that have already gone home? (Optional: How long were they here and how many?)
4. What was your first "event" in this world?
5. What's been your favorite "event" so far?
6. Are you here to live out the rest of your life, or are you looking for a way home? (Optional: Why?)

I'll answer it first!

1. 16 days away from a year.
2. Nope!
3. Like briefly one person on new arrival day and then never again.
4. Ghoul's Moon.
5. Same answer as above. It was pretty fun fighting all the undead. I guess the Masquerade Ball was pretty okay, too.
6. Maybe? I dunno, this world is a lot better for me than my own.

Five people, huh? Must be nice to have so many familiar faces around.

Did they return with memories of this place? I know someone who went home and came back with no memories of this place. I'd count them.

And hey, it's fine if you don't know yet. Probably plenty of time to figure it out.

I wouldn't say I was familiar with them before meeting here. It's only my brother, and my Father whom I knew. The other 3, I haven't seen before.

And yes, they did but when they went back, they didn't remember anything...which is strange.

Your dad, huh? I don't think I've met them yet. Are you and your brother gonna leave Avalanche to make a crew with your dad?

Do the other people live in a different kingdom or something?

Maybe it's just how the magic of this place works sometimes? There have been others that have gone home and just get more memories of home before zipping right back.

No, not really. I know Mr. Zack is trying to get Father to join us but she much rather get to know everyone first before joining.

It's not really kingdoms as there are different nations back home. Lyney, Father, and I are from Fontaine and the others are from Sumeru and Inazuma.

As for how magic works here, I suppose that's how it goes. I'm still not sure I understand but perhaps it's something I shouldn't think too much about.

Sounds like we should have a meet-and-greet then. You can bring your dad around and let her get to meet us. Unless that sounds like too much for her at one time?

Guess it's kind of a small world here, then. Getting to meet these people from different nations.

I want to say that if someone is gone at the end of the month, their chances of coming back without their memories are pretty high. I did notice that a handful of people are just gone when a new month starts.

No, I don't think so, she just doesn't want to bother us. I think she wants us to have our own personal lives.

But really? Then, this world is strange. I wonder what makes them choose which people come and go so fast...

I'm not sure understand that, but then again, Cloud's the closest thing I've ever had to a parent before. Still, she could come meet us and get to know who's in her kids' lives!

[ Of course there's other reasons, but clearly Nimona wants to meet this Father. ]

No idea. I keep wondering if there's like... some small wandering rift that opens up and sucks people in to return them home. That would be metal.

I suppose that is true. I just don't want to force her when she feels as though she doesn't want to intrude...

But if that were the case, I wonder where we would even find it. It would probably be a place no one would ever look.

Hm, then why not just invite her to spend a day with us. She could decide when is good for her. No meet and greet - just seeing us in our natural habitat.

See that's the beauty of a wandering rift. It could be anywhere and everywhere! One day it's in the back of a bookshop, the next it's on someone's ship, then another - it's in the ocean.
