[Oh, it's Kaveh, waving at the camera. He looks...slightly damp? And Shadowlily appears to have burrowed into his shirt and is still grumbling at him LOUDLY the entire video.]

So I don't suppose anyone would be interested in a one-of-a-kind, annotated copy of a novel from another world, would they?

[Please. Please dear god take it from him.]

A work of fiction, then? What is plot?

[He frowned, thoughtful as he considered that.]

This venerable one supposes that may be part of the appeal for some. However, this venerable one has found that many books attempt to tout their appeal by giving short summaries of the type of story it is that sketch out the plot without revealing details. 'Murder mysteries' are very popular, but so are 'supernatural mysteries' and this venerable one has found that they are often very different in 'tone' and this has an effect on the appeal.

This venerable one has not found murder mysteries to be particularly interesting unless they are non-fictional accounts of 'unsolved cases'. Most of the fictional mysteries this venerable one has read have been... easy. To 'solve' and determine the murder. Within the first few pages.

Has anyone else from this venerable one's crew requested the book?

If G'raha has already asked for it, then there is no need for this venerable one to pursue it further.

Who is the author? Is it very likely that more of their works have already made their way to this world or will?

[That... did not necessarily speak well of the author's skill. He could think of only two reasons an author would not get published again short of simply not writing anything else: they were terrible and no one wanted to support them, or their words were such that they angered the wrong person and ended up in a state that continued publications would not be possible.

However, that could lead to the book being something of a collector's curiosity. Which could add to it's value even if the writing fell short of... anyone's expectations.]

Are there any non-annotated copies in this world?
yuezun: (think: give it some time)

It is the only copy, at current, then?

[Definitely would have some collectors value to the right person or group, even if only barely.]

Perhaps a few non-annotated copies could be made. There are certain to be libraries in this world that are interested in writings from other worlds, no matter the content.
