[ The video post starts up to reveal the faces of the Hamada brothers, along with what looks like a red suitcase beside Hiro. Their location isn’t anything special, just somewhere inland on Elrut right now, but the elder brother is smiling anyway. ]

Hello everyone, I’m Tadashi Hamada and this is my younger brother…

[ Tadashi motions to Hiro. The younger brother waves, smiling, and turns his gaze from Tadashi to the phone. ]

I’m Hiro! And this… [He gestures to the suitcase next to him before purposely pulling off a plaster from his knee. His ‘ow’ in instinctive response activates the robot inside, causing Baymax to inflate and turn on, introducing himself with a wave. ]

Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion. I was alerted to the need for medical attention when you said ‘ow’.

You’ll be seeing Baymax around one or both of us often, so we wanted to introduce him and ourselves. I’m also interested in finding out if anyone had a temporary charging solution seeing as how I haven’t come across a power outlet anywhere yet. [ Tadashi holds up the power cord on Baymax’s charging station for anyone who hasn’t seen anything like it before. ]

Yeah, I’m not sure if the technology here is necessarily compatible—at least, not without some adapting or figuring on our part. Baymax is the priority. Even if it would be cool to actually use my handheld, it won’t die on me eventually. Tadashi and I were both pretty good with tech back home, but this might take some adjusting.

[ Hiro says, a puff of air from his sigh shifting his mess of bangs before he raises his hands in reassuring Baymax that he was fine given the robot approaches and wants to check him over. ]

On a scale of one-to-ten…

[ Tadashi chuckles as he moves to end the video recording for the post while Baymax tends to Hiro. ]

New spells and abilities on top of what you had back home? Interesting. And it isn't permanent? So Aunt Cass wouldn't necessarily kill me and freak out about it?

[Because. It's Hiro. He will probably want to explore and see what this place has to offer. For all that, he is used to his tech and such back home. He won't learn by sitting around. He has to get out and see what equipment is available around here.]

[ramuhs]

Aye, bit more of magic ink that's more painted on than engraved into your skin.

[A wry grin.]

Besides, how will your aunt know if she's not even here?

[Being a great influence—okay no, he should listen to his aunt but there are some things he could prooobably loosen up some on. Maybe.]

[baymaxing]

Painted on. I think I prefer that. I mean, I've had injections before and can manage if I have to, but.

[Needles. Nobody is exactly a fan.]

True. If she isn't here, Tadashi and I won't mention it. Ever.

[Basically. What she doesn't know can't make her freak out? Right? Not that Hiro hasn't been in trouble and likely has some things he has decidedly neglected to mention to her. But. Tattoos feel like a whole other thing. They were generally permanent if not those stickers for kids sort of deals.]

[ramuhs]

[A grin.]

So, what kind of magic do you think you'd be interested in?

[baymaxing]

What kind? Uh, I haven't thought that much about it yet. We only recently got here and all, and we are still settling in. But. I guess. Is there something with technology or that sort of thing? I do want to learn more about this magi-tech stuff. I'm not sure if that comes under the things with the tattoos, though.

[This is Hiro pointedly ignoring Baymax saying Aunt Cass would probably not approve. Look, there are already things he knows she would likely not approve of back home or, at least, worry about him more if she did know. This is hardly anything that new?]

[Hmmm...]

I suppose lightning would be the most likely. It's the closest you would get to electricity, so if you're more into the electrical aspects of engineering it can be quite handy to have something on hand.

[Hint of what he's been doing.]

But the "magitech" here functions with all sorts of elements and includes not only using direct magic but other resources that have "magical" qualities to them, such as special stones or crystals, or have some function to replicate magical output.

[Hmmmm.]

A suggestion I offer is to find and use objects that have magical properties to them and see how that element feels to you. Watching others and see if any strike your fancy is another.

[baymaxing]

I need to look into this magi-tech stuff. Yeah. I guess I'll see how I go. See what sticks or feels right? Or something like that. There's no need to rush into it, anyway. We're gonna be busy enough learning about this place and figuring out adapting and all yet.

[Hiro says, gesturing to Baymax for one example. Let alone his now useless phone and whether he brought his gaming handheld or the like. The brothers have already considered getting their printers from home to see how that might help.]

[ramuhs]

[A wry chuckle.]

Aye, it will certainly be quite a lot for you to take in, especially with it as different from your world as it sounds.

But I think you two will manage. You both seem bright young lads.

[baymaxing]

Yeah, much of this seems pretty old school — at least compared to what we're used to back home. But I'm sure we'll manage to adjust. Learning how to figure things out here just might take a bit initially.

[And, well. He isn't wrong. The Hamadas were smart. There's a reason why Hiro is fourteen, has finished school, and is now attending university. He was given an exemption because of his age, considering his remarkable work with the microbots. And Tadashi is no slouch either, having created Baymax.]

[ramuhs]

If you ever need any help, there will be plenty who are willing, myself included. I've already spoken with your brother, but I am quite interested in how your Baymax fellow works.

Hope you don't mind if I one day take a look.

[baymaxing]

Thanks. I'm sure Baymax and Tadashi wouldn't mind. So long you don't like, take him apart or whatever. I mean. We would want to figure out how to fix him here before anything significant like that.

[But Cid probably figures that and isn't necessarily planning to go that far with things. Hiro assumes. He is perhaps just curious, is all. Like most others who might not have seen anything like Baymax before.]

[ramuhs]

[A wry chuckle at that and a raise of his hand.]

Wouldn't dare think of it. I know better than to mess with one's creations without permission.

[baymaxing]

Good. Just -- making sure. I figured it was probably fine, but. It isn't like we've been here too long yet to know and trust everyone. Or that everyone here is familiar enough with something like Baymax.

[So he wanted to just. Put it out there. Just in case.]

[ramuhs]

A fair thing to do, really, especially what with this world being as it is. Best to keep him close by and not let him wander off.

[baymaxing]

Yeah. At least initially, while we're still figuring this place. And everyone is getting used to him too.

Have you two found a place to stay yet?

[baymaxing]

We were both on the same ship, initially. But we're in the process of figuring something more permanent. Why?

[ramuhs]

[Hmmmm. Would this be too early to offer? But he has taken to Tadashi and Hiro seems like a smart lad as well...]

This might be too forward to offer so soon, but if you do need a place or assistance, you and your brother would be welcome to the Hideaway, my crew.

The Hideaway crew? I can see what Tadashi thinks. I'm not sure I have any particular preference outside of sticking together, so I can ask him.

[But Cid seems alright? He sees no reason not to agree. So far at least.]

Yeah, we'll see. We haven't been here too long yet to fully figure out details or plans so much quite yet. But we can talk about it. Keep you guys in mind.

[Look, he said he would check with Tadashi? He hasn't immediately said yes. Yet. But it isn't like they have Aunt Cass to stay with, here.]
