[ The video post starts up to reveal the faces of the Hamada brothers, along with what looks like a red suitcase beside Hiro. Their location isn’t anything special, just somewhere inland on Elrut right now, but the elder brother is smiling anyway. ]

Hello everyone, I’m Tadashi Hamada and this is my younger brother…

[ Tadashi motions to Hiro. The younger brother waves, smiling, and turns his gaze from Tadashi to the phone. ]

I’m Hiro! And this… [He gestures to the suitcase next to him before purposely pulling off a plaster from his knee. His ‘ow’ in instinctive response activates the robot inside, causing Baymax to inflate and turn on, introducing himself with a wave. ]

Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion. I was alerted to the need for medical attention when you said ‘ow’.

You’ll be seeing Baymax around one or both of us often, so we wanted to introduce him and ourselves. I’m also interested in finding out if anyone had a temporary charging solution seeing as how I haven’t come across a power outlet anywhere yet. [ Tadashi holds up the power cord on Baymax’s charging station for anyone who hasn’t seen anything like it before. ]

Yeah, I’m not sure if the technology here is necessarily compatible—at least, not without some adapting or figuring on our part. Baymax is the priority. Even if it would be cool to actually use my handheld, it won’t die on me eventually. Tadashi and I were both pretty good with tech back home, but this might take some adjusting.

[ Hiro says, a puff of air from his sigh shifting his mess of bangs before he raises his hands in reassuring Baymax that he was fine given the robot approaches and wants to check him over. ]

On a scale of one-to-ten…

[ Tadashi chuckles as he moves to end the video recording for the post while Baymax tends to Hiro. ]

So this is that Baymax fellow you were talking about, Tadashi? Looks a bit like a giant balloon...

[ Yep. ]

This is him. I was going for a nonthreatening, huggable kind of thing, but I'll take giant balloon.

I know, right? When Tadashi first showed me Baymax, I told him it looked like a walking marshmallow. It's actually a pretty solid design, though. Besides me telling him he should have used a different battery.

[Hiro says, as Baymax checks his knee where he had the plaster on.]

[The brothers get a message that consists of a picture and a caption right below it, short and to the point.]

[You guys aren't the only ones with cool helpers!! Look at his husband's!!]

(Oh look, new people introducing themselves on the network. Joy.

They're not interested--wait. Is that a robot?

It is. Well, these people became a lot more interesting.)

If you get Baymax a tattoo it might be possible to get power from the ambient magic in the atmosphere. If that doesn't work there are people at the adamantine Forge who might be willing to help build a generator that he can use.

...How intelligent is Baymax, anyway?

(Him. Wanting to keep him powered. Introducing him to everyone. This sounds like he's at least slightly more sentient than what might typically be expected of a robot. Or he's just really useful and they want to keep him working and make sure the locals don't freak out and attack.)

Hello- I may be able to help create a reliable battery, be it for Baymax himself or for any solution others may offer when it comes to recharging him. One that will likely recharge itself when not in use.

[Just at the bottom of the shellphone's camera was- well the peeking bright blue LED-like eyes of a curious robotic creature.]

I have created a few during my time here already.

[ Tadashi will keep it video so that Baymax can respond. Large puffy fingers are not great at texting. The walking marshmallow waves again. ]

I've been introduced to Mehrak, but these two haven't yet.

[ Everyone is getting video from Tadashi so Baymax can talk to people too. ]

Would getting a tattoo make me a better healthcare companion? [ There is a slight drop in Baymax's voice on the word "tattoo".

Tadashi pats the big guy's arm. ] That's something I'd need to investigate and think about. If I could get him healing magic, I'd lean more into it.

[ Anything that involves fighting would be Hiro's area, which Tadashi doesn't know about yet. ]

Right now, Baymax is programmed with ten thousand medical procedures along with a lot of basic coding, with the capability to learn and grow more on his own. So while he's very knowledgeable in the medical field, he has a lot to learn about other human concepts still.

Hey, Mehrak! It's pretty neat that at least Baymax isn't the only one.

[He can make robot buddies? Maybe? Hiro thinks he recognizes the suitcase-looking robot from earlier. He initially wasn't sure if there might be others around. Given this place generally seemed to be less advanced and all that it didn't seem as likely to be able to figure that people were at the point where they could manage to pull off something like Baymax.]

A forge? That might be an idea — worth asking at least to see if they might be able to help. I just really don't want to deal with him when he gets like that when his battery is running low.

[Which. Is basically like herding someone drunk to go to bed to get him to the charger. Hiro struggled. A lot. If he can avoid that, it would be great. He turns to Baymax, nudging the larger robot in the stomach and telling him he might be in luck. Baymax gives a wave and thanks the person talking on the shellphone.]

I hadn't figured if the tattoos might work on him, actually. That's an idea....

Hello. [ Baymax waves at Turo and the robotic creature. ] I am Baymax.

[ The marshmallow is trying to communicate with the penguin-looking creature. ]

That sounds great. It wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade Baymax with that kind of battery. As for his charging station, maybe an external power source for it to plug into. Hiro and I have talked about getting other tech from home which will encounter the same problem.

Oh, Hey Professor, could you help with something? That would be great! We'd owe you big time!

[Hiro brightens at that. He hopes to be able to figure something out for Baymax quickly. Sooner rather than later so they don't need to worry about the battery so much. So he could be on and out and about without worrying about him draining it. Hiro doesn't relish the idea of dealing with that too often. And he'd rather figure out a solution before having Baymax active all the time.

But of course, he is distracted by the other on the screen, just.]

...Is that another one of those creatures? Looks like a....penguin?

[The stare of Bundle was blank for a moment before the eyes changed into what could help express a smile, a robotic bird-like noise made as there was a shiny red flipper waving in turn.

Hi! Hi! Hello!

Bundle was certainly energetic- and reason Turo shifting the phone enough for it to see better.]

I work mostly with crystals and gems, refining them so their magical energies can be used to generate power. I am sure that something can be figured out- and I have been working on various prototypes for a charger during some of my spare time. I would be more than happy for the both of you to see what may be managed.

Hello Hiro, and I would be more than happy to help. I have had near a year's time of working with creating various power sources and batteries, even if usually for my own work. A reason I am sure something can be found that will help your friend Baymax here.

[There was a tip of the camera- and Bundle soon enough being better in view.]

It is, yes. This would be Iron Bundle, they resemble what is known as a Delibird in my world to some degree.

[A very happy Bundle, giving the sort of almost musical note noises being made.]

But looking at Baymax now she squints at it. Moroha is perplex about what Baymax exactly is. She's never seen anything like him. Maybe a balloon she's seen her two-time visit to the modern world?]

...I feel like that thing is gonna pop. I think it needs armor or something...

You might be able to get healing magic, yeah. It's not a tattoo with a needle, the guy who does it is a magical octopus if you'd believe it.

(They consider mentioning Professor Turo and his potions, but... as much as they wanna help Baymax, he's gonna have scanners, and they're not sure he understands the concept of "don't snitch on other robots". At least, not yet.

Maybe they should Turo make the decision whether to approach these people. Oh, huh. They can see he's responding below them...)

Professor Turo has made some pretty awesome medical potions and devices. Might want to ask him about those.

So I'm guessing Baymax is kind of like a robot kid, then? (Freshly decanted would be weird and they wouldn't understand it, so they go for the human comparison instead.) Do you like your function, Baymax?

What's he like when his battery is running low?

What is the name of your robotic creature? I will add it to my database. [ Is it a robot, is it a creature?

Tadashi will let Turo handle the question, since he only knows the overall name for them. ]

We've only scratched the surface on learning about magitech so far, certainly not enough to keep Baymax powered up long-term. [ They're quick studies, but not that quick. ] Whenever you've got time, we can come by with Baymax to put our heads together on this.

[Oh hey, Tadashi! He remembers running into him at the haunted house place. Robotics did come up during their brief interaction, and while a robot that can punch and do all sort of combat would be super-duper cool and would scratch off a bucket list of things ranma hadn't gotten to fight, a robot that's an aficionado at all things medical related is pretty freaking sweet too. As a kid who grew up reading all sorts of medical books simultaneously for entertainment and training purposes, he can respect the moxie.

[Where's the metal bits? Under the balloony covering?? Won't it pop? He's not an engineer or robotics technician or nothing, but he's gotta question the logistics of it all.]

Won't it be an issue if that thing needs to do surgery on someone? Surgeries tend to involve a lot of sharp, pointy tools.

Hey, Moroha. Nice to see you're getting used to the shellphone. Yep, that's Hiro. [ A soft laugh. ] He'll probably shoot up soon.

[ Seeing as how she's Tadashi's new friend, he'll somewhat block the tease just a little.

As for the armor... little does he know that Hiro also thought that. ]

He could pop, but that's just what makes Baymax huggable. He's got a metal skeleton inside that can still move without all the fluffiness.

Iron Bundle- [-- those were some prime dial-up tone noises being made.] They are very happy to meet you.

[At least for the moment Bundle was occupied and happy to interact as well as they could.]

Magitech has come quite a way since it was first being explored- something of a boom, even if it went more towards weapons with the larger community. I am still exploring uses for convenience, such as lamps and the like. This would fall into my study of better ways to keep them powered. [All was well and good if something worked, but a reliable power source was a Need.] I likely should take a break from studying various samples taken from Snaxburg Isle sooner rather than later-

When you have time to stop by the Cosmo Conservatory on Eltrut I will be there.

Then I'll definitely have to look into it. Seeing as how he's a prototype, I do want him out there to enhance his programming by dealing and learning about people through science.

[ Tadashi has already thought about patient-Baymax confidentiality, and while he already had HIPAA laws installed, he has made sure that Baymax won't share personal information with others - not even him unless given permission.

Yep, both of the brothers have already met Turo - so this will be Baymax's first meeting with him. ]

Yeah, I've talked with him a bit already about meeting up when I was a little more settled.

In some ways, he is. It's why I'd like to have him interacting with others who can help him grow.

I am satisfied with my function and would not allow it to be replaced with another.

[ Tadashi looks a little surprised by the second part of the answer, but doesn't comment on it. ]

He's sort of silly when his battery's on low. Very harmless, and silly.

[ That has him laughing. ]

It's not inaccurate. He's supposed to be non-threatening and huggable.

[ The metal bits are under the balloon covering, and technically his head, too. ]

I planned for that.

My fingers are equipped with medical tools. [ While Baymax holds up a hand, he doesn't reveal those medical tools. ]

Just think of Baymax as more of a robotic nurse, rather than a doctor. He can do a lot, but there are some limitations to what he can do.

Yeah, yeah! It's not so bad once you showed me some stuff.

[She flashes a big grin at the praise.]

I guess if you want it to be huggable...I figured you'd make it fluffy if you were going for that! If it pops and it's skin is hanging then that's going to to be a pretty scary huggable thing walkin' around!

[Moroha doesn't get the appeal of making it huggable. She's not that use to hugs but for Tadashi, if she see's Baymax she'll do what she can not to pop him.]

[Putting it that way, no wonder he looks like a giant marshmallow. Patients would feel a lot more comfortable being treated by something soft and cute than something that looks like a T-800.]

Fair enough. [Probably for the best there is limits to what he can do. Without meaning any offense to the Hamada siblings and Baymax, he wouldn't trust being under the knife by the knock-off Stay Puft Man. That, and whenever he needed treatment, he's usually the one who identify and treat anything that'd still need it regardless of his own accelerated heal time. The first time this boy went to an actual doctor was when he was 15, and that was just a chiropractor.]

What all can it do anyway?

There are more than a few who have the ability to 'charge' objects if you are speaking of something that uses a specific type of energy. There are also 'magitech' items which should also provide aid of the sort you need.

If it is simply power that is needed, this venerable one can potentially provide. Your... 'Baymax'... is a healer?
