Two nerds and their robot

Type: Video
Sender ID: peopleneedyou (Tadashi Hamada) featuring; Hiro Hamada (baymaxing) & Baymax
To: Everyone
Subject: Meet the Hamadas and Baymax
Warnings: None

[ The video post starts up to reveal the faces of the Hamada brothers, along with what looks like a red suitcase beside Hiro. Their location isn’t anything special, just somewhere inland on Elrut right now, but the elder brother is smiling anyway. ]

Hello everyone, I’m Tadashi Hamada and this is my younger brother…

[ Tadashi motions to Hiro. The younger brother waves, smiling, and turns his gaze from Tadashi to the phone. ]

I’m Hiro! And this… [He gestures to the suitcase next to him before purposely pulling off a plaster from his knee. His ‘ow’ in instinctive response activates the robot inside, causing Baymax to inflate and turn on, introducing himself with a wave. ]

Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion. I was alerted to the need for medical attention when you said ‘ow’.

You’ll be seeing Baymax around one or both of us often, so we wanted to introduce him and ourselves. I’m also interested in finding out if anyone had a temporary charging solution seeing as how I haven’t come across a power outlet anywhere yet. [ Tadashi holds up the power cord on Baymax’s charging station for anyone who hasn’t seen anything like it before. ]

Yeah, I’m not sure if the technology here is necessarily compatible—at least, not without some adapting or figuring on our part. Baymax is the priority. Even if it would be cool to actually use my handheld, it won’t die on me eventually. Tadashi and I were both pretty good with tech back home, but this might take some adjusting.

[ Hiro says, a puff of air from his sigh shifting his mess of bangs before he raises his hands in reassuring Baymax that he was fine given the robot approaches and wants to check him over. ]

On a scale of one-to-ten…

[ Tadashi chuckles as he moves to end the video recording for the post while Baymax tends to Hiro. ]

I guess we'll see how we go here. It might initially take some adjusting before we figure out how to adapt to things here. I need to figure out how to adapt to charge Baymax. Or to figure out how we might manage to help repair maybe or make some new technology or the like here.

[Hiro might have his way of doing things. His preferences and style with his bots. But that doesn't mean he and Tadashi don't generally want the same thing. To help others.]

There are more than enough riftfarers around that tinker with the technology here for you to ask. The Paladin archives on Elah may also have some books on the subject.

[He already told this to the elder sibling... and while normally he doesn't like to repeat himself he supposes its fine here. Just to ensure both siblings are aware.]

Archives? That might work.

[Baymax nods at the idea. He is at least quite used to Hiro getting absorbed in his research and projects, his assignments, and the like. This would hardly be anything new. He would have to poke at Hiro to remind the teen to eat. Or rest and sleep. If he gets too distracted.]

[Alhaitham would continue to try and make suggestions but Kaveh has promptly taken over the conversation instead, so.

Go talk with the pretty blonde man, Hiro. Everything will be made clear in time.]

To clarify, the Adamantine Forge may be a good place to start. I also know a few names of people...a lot of riftfarers are interested in magitech, especially since so many of us use power in different ways.

Baymax looks pretty friendly, so I'm sure the locals will like him just fine.

I'll have to look at that Forge then. Thanks for that. I should probably look more into this magi tech. It'd probably help a lot to be more familiar with it, given that I'm used to working with tech back home. Tadashi and I could probably help a lot more if we had a better idea of things here in comparison to what we are used to there.

But yeah. Tadashi was going for a non-threatening, huggable design. I guess he was thinking of the potential times Baymax might be working with kids.

[...Like Hiro is not one still himself at fourteen. But he is obviously considering younger children with that comment. Given Baymax giving out lollipops and all.]
