[Given the field, and edge of a forest just within sight, it could be guessed that Turo was somewhere within Cosmo Conservatory on Eltrut; sitting there in the tall grass as a bit of fog forming could also be seen. Those who remembered his plushie announcement could likely spot both familiar creatures vaguely there and- well.
A lively nest just within the hollow of a fallen tree; the eggs no longer eggs.]
I am happy to announce that there are now several hatched Cloud Hoppers, healthy, with a proud set of parents just as lively and active-
[—and that was a bark, followed by the sound of something loping in and half knocking into Turo from behind, the strange looking dog popping up with paws over his shoulders and panting. Head tipped so one eye was on the shellphone and the light indicating the camera was on. A bright set of feathers behind those ears bobbing a little with all of the movement.]
-and I suppose my new friend wishes to introduce herself. Has anyone here happened to have see a dog like this before?
[As said dog deliberately flopped right into his lap, tail wagging; something perhaps a little odd in how one eye remained focused sharply still on the shellphone.]
A pack of them seem to have been exploring the sanctuary grounds, peacefully at least. She is the only one to have broken off from them. I must admit that some of their markings remind me of a creature from my home region.
[...was— did the dog just huff out a small curl of fire?]

What ominous names! [He chuckles, head canting just so in unconscious mimicry of the beast's interest.] Your choice is a far better fit for such a pretty girl. In my world, "mariposa" means "butterfly".
[And as well as Zenyatta knows that the Iris moves in mysterious ways, surely the suggestion is more than a coincidental string of letters?]

Houndoom is a very dog-like pokémon that holds abilities with it's dual type- Dark and Fire. [There was some easy joy there in his tone, as if it was something he simply enjoyed talking about.] With Skeledirge it has the typing of Ghost and Fire, but has very similar markings to it despite being more... alligator shaped.
[A nod then-] Spanish, yes? There are some differences, but it is very similar to the Paldean language. With how agile she moves, the leaps and bounds, in motion she very much fits that.
[—what lingered with curiosity seemed to be some sort of hope.]

Fascinating!]
I see! These "pokémon" are a kind of animal in your world, I take it? I have never heard the term. [The similarities between their universes have ended here, for now. But it is a small miracle that there are any similarities at all.] You would not happen to have any pictures of them, would you?
[It's a long shot. He's not sure how long a smartphone would last here.]

One moment- Iron Valiant, would you be kind enough to-- ah, yes. Thank you. ['Valiant' did walk into view, the blades of its double ended spear disconnected and slid back into where they rested within forearms as it took the phone from Turo's hand, looking into the camera briefly with a nod of hello and then turning it back onto its Trainer who was going through the satchel he had with him—]
I am afraid I do not have my rotomphone with me to show you pictures, but I have started work on creating a pokédex on paper to share with others, which does involve sketched images. Of course I have started on the pokémon of the Paldea Region first- [He did well to hold up a surprisingly colorful drawn image of what could only be a Skeledirge in a few different referential poses; very detailed and life-like in ways one might expect from a skilled life artist.] Skeledirge is the final evolution for one of the starter Pokémon given to those attending their first days at Uva Academy.
[Then turning the pages and stopping on another sketched image of what was of course then Houndoom, which was given the same attention and detail as Skeledirge.] Houndoom are the final evolution of a pokémon known as Houndour, and can be encountered in the wild- within areas only skilled trainers are safe to travel through.
If you are interested in seeing more of those I have worked on getting down, you are welcome to come by Cosmo Conservatory- I will be here for quite a while today.

Then it is gone, replaced by a series of intricate sketches, one after the other, just as the man had described: a fiery alligator, a black dog with impish horns...
There are a thousand questions lined up in his processor when his teacher comes to a conclusion, but every one has been instantly outprioritised.]
I can see why you are a professor! And yes. I would like that very much. [That's an understatement.] My name is Zenyatta. You are sure I would not be getting in the way?

It is the type of position where passion is a big part of pursuing being a Pokémon Professor. [Even if memory could recall that that passion, while starting off somewhere good, gripped into obsession in the end.] You may call me simply Turo, and it is a pleasure.
I am positive that you will not be in the way. There are others who volunteer here, and I mainly step in as an extra hand when needed outside of health checks and the like.
