[Before there was any imagine, only the sound of someone shuffling about with the device could be heard. A muffled 'Does this really work?' in a female voice followed shortly after. More unintelligible mumbling as suddenly a picture of a rather unflattering angle of a drow's face from being held waaaay too close flicked across the screen. A pair of pale white eyes widen in mixture of surprise and excitement.]

Oh! It really does work.

[There was a beat before the drow realized it wasn't just her seeing her own image, but that she was broadcasting it to everyone. There was another little small gasp as the video shifted. Being held out at the proper distance, one could see the woman squarely in the frame. Koh cleared her throat, giving a small wave with her free hand.]

Hello, sorry about that... I was testing out the functions I was told this device was capable of. I don't have anything like this where I am from so just.... familiarizing myself with it. It seems my visit here is a bit more extensive than I previously had hoped it would be. I... usually don't stay in one place for too long. I guess a formal introduction is in order.

My name is Kolnatha Shavval, but you can just all me Koh for short. In case anyone is in need of a healer, I am a cleric by trade. Which, on that note, would anyone happen to know where I can acquire medicinal herbs? Specifically ones that can aid in relieving motion sickness? [There was slight awkward pause.] I... don't exactly have my sea legs yet.

My kind doesn't sleep, not like normal people do anyways. We trance, which is like a deep meditative state where we stay semiconscious while doing so. You make it sound like I'm taking an extended holiday. Spending a day or two on solid ground to formulate a plan isn't going hurt anyone.

Do so and prepare yourself. {He will likely explore the land regardless of what he says.} Acquire a weapon or some form of defense.

Don't worry about me. I can handle myself. I may specialize in healing magic, but I do know how to fight. I am thankful that I found my sword and shield, along with some of my belongings. Not sure why they felt the need to bury it...

You change forms? That would make sense. With your pointed ears and fair skin I thought you might be an elf. What was throwing me off were the eyes...

[There was a soft hum as she is lost in thought for a moment.]

Sorry, we spent all this time chatting I haven't even asked for your name.

I am a demon. Most pure-bred demons possess two forms. {At least!} I have never encountered an elf.

{They seem closer to humans in his judgement - if she is one. Though her appearance does set her apart. She might have abilities he hasn't considered.}

That does sound impressive. [She gave him a small smile. He may not be an elf, but he certainly talks like some noble drows she knows. So concerned about the 'purity' of their lineage.] I have met quite a few elves during my travels. They... don't particularly like my kind. [Or anyone for that matter.] Sorted history.

[She adds, brushing it off. He didn't seem like the chatty sort who was interested in a history lesson.]

It is a pleasure meet you, Sesshomaru. Which ship do you reside on currently? We might be crew mates.

I'm a drow. My kind and elves were once one race a very long time ago. But my ancestors were cast out and banished to the Underdark for their loyalty to the Spider Queen.

[Koh tried to behave herself not to get too wrapped up in story telling, cutting the tale off there. History was one of her favorite subjects.]

Oh... I see. [The drow hums softly to herself.] A Pitt, then. We are on different ships. I'm assigned to The Stormbringer.

... {He snorts at the mention of a "Spider Queen". Sorry, that brings up bad memories of Naraku.} Do you still support her?

{If so, why? He has no love for spiders.}

We must see land now and then. I am not limited by a ship.

[Koh's brows furrow a bit as her face turns serious.]

My loyalty has never laid with the Spider Queen. Not after what she has done to my people. What she turned us into. No... My devotion belongs to another. I have sworn myself to the Dark Maiden, Eilistraee.

[A beat as Koh tries her best to push down the messy swirl of emotions that bubbled within her. Koh has no love for Lolth.

Shaking her head, the shadow that darkened her features were cast away. A ghost of a smile huanted the corners of her lips. Oh, she was going to get this man to drink.]

True enough. Willing to meet up in person then?

{A Dark Maiden instead? Is that any better? He has no idea. But at least she doesn't hold spiders in high regard.}

{To swear yourself to any ruler, that is. He would never and yet there are people and demons who have sworn themselves to him. Does he think they are fools? That depends.}

[Foolish? Good thing the drow took it in good humor as she softly gave him a snort.]

Perhaps. But faith is all I have left to hold on to.

[Well, this was unexpected. From her limited time speaking to him, she had prepared herself for a bit of resistance. But she was pleasantly surprised, titling her head with a smile.]

Well I am currently stationed on a place called Nogard. Though... I have my doubts if this place is to your tastes.

{Faith. Sesshomaru softly huffs, oh so judgemental. But hasn't he learned the power of faith? ...maybe.}

[Strength? Inner strength maybe, but physical? Koh was fairly certain she could chuck him over her shoulder one handed. He didn't look that heavy.]

Don't take my faith for weakness. If you want to have a friendly spar, I would be happy to demonstrate my swordsmanship.

Fair enough, however I just have a hunch you wouldn't like Nogard in particular. A little too... rough and tumble for your noble sensibilities.
