A curious question to my fellow riftfarers — to those who are capable of "summoning" or calling upon powerful beings or even people, how does it work in your world? Any particular requirements? Contracts?

And have you any luck doing so while here? Any changes you've discovered?

[This is a general broadcast type post, so anyone can threadhop if they'd like to swap stories or anything! Cid will be reading everything...with very keen interest.]

In case you're wondering what this is about, while on that ghost ship a girl somehow managed to summon me from a rock she had—materia she called it. She also knew about Ramuh and some of the other Eikons from our world.

Given there was no warning and that she might not be the only one, thought I should give everyone a heads up. For now I'll be trying some tests with her to see how it works and will share the results.

I was just summoning up Ramuh as usual, and this comes drops out of the sky out of nowhere! Apparently, he's Ramuh in another world or something.

His username is ramuhs. So of course he's somehow tied to Ramuh.

Makes having summoning materia inconvenient.

I didn't know that before I tried summoning. But apparently there are a bunch of others in his world like him, so we could all be summoning up people.

Maybe we need to get together with this guy and figure out who we might be summoning.

What other summon materia did you bring with you?

[ Since that's clearly the only way that it could be an issue, right? ]

Ramuh is the only one. But that kid, Chadley, was hanging around Sector Seven slums - so I figured that Tifa might have picked one up from him. At least of the people I've seen around this place and back home.

[ Then there's Zack, who's a SOLDIER guy. Surely, Shinra loaded him up or something. ]

Guess I should have asked Tifa what materia she had on her. Didn't think about it at first.

Probably goes without saying, but you shouldn't use that summon materia any more.

Does Zack have any summoning materia?

He's the one who wants me to use it! He wants to test it out more.

I haven't asked him. Now I think I should.

Cid wants you to test it out more? Are you sure he's not trying to get you to pull a prank on someone?

Probably a good idea.

He wants to know more about how it's going to work. Normally summons just disappears after their big move, but he was just sort of stuck. Then he wants to know how far away we can be, since we were both on the same boat before. Also, he didn't look like Ramuh at all, he just looked almost like himself with supercharged lightning abilities. If you want to know more about his side of it, you could just talk to him directly.

For my part, I'm gonna need to find some enemies to be able to run any tests at all. Either a lot of them, or strong ones. You want to come along?

Then again, those sound like important questions that I'd want answered if I were him.
