So, what's that mean exactly?

It means I'm a person who flies like a bird because I have really big red wings. They're my quirk.

A quirk, huh... okay.

I'll make sure to keep an eye out for a guy with big red wings. But I hope people don't waste ammo shooting blindly at things in the sky.

I probably just startled the guy, he probably didn't mean it. [ Ever the optimist. ]

Quirks are special abilities. In my world almost everyone has some kind of quirk. Mine just happens to be my wings.

That makes sense I guess. Funny that they get called quirks, though. Kinda apropos.

So is it just flying then? Or am I being too personal.

Nah, you're fine. I'm a top ranked hero, my quirk is pretty public. It is the flying, I can also manipulate each of my feathers on their own. I can sharpen them into blades, and each of them can carry about two hundred pounds.

[ Those are his official specs. There's...other things. He'll keep those under his hat. ]

They give heroes ranks?

Here I thought the name hero was given to people who did things because they were the right thing to do. Guess I've got a lot to learn...

That's what motivates most people to get into it, but once you're a professional they do a ranking every six months. The public casts their votes for their favourites, and that combined with your record is what determines your rank.

It's kind of like a fancy job evaluation.

I get the picture that's pretty unique to my world though, it confuses a lot of people. They treat top heroes like celebrities, but that part is the smallest part of the job. Most of it is helping people in need and stopping villains.
