Scrambled Egg Zone Act I
Type: VIDEO
Sender ID: reneggadetinkerer (Dr. Robotnik)
To: General Public
Subject: Introductions
Warnings: ~THEATRICS~
[The first thing you might notice on the screen is a bulbous pink nose. A nose from under which a massive, aburn, magnificent mustache extends off to either side like the bristles of two enormous brushes. Only then might you notice the glint of dark spectacles completely enshrouding the eyes of the one beginning this broadcast. As he pulls his shellphone away, you get the full picture; a rotund man that simply exudes the aura of a mad genius.]
Attention! As loathsome as it is to admit this, I appear to be stranded on this overly moist macrocosm like the rest of you. The accommodations I've found myself in are abhorrent, frankly, and I refuse to live like a deckswab. As such, I'm taking it upon myself to begin searching for more appropriate facilities so that I might continue my work. If anyone out there knows of any...let's say...recently vacated warehouses or factories...or, better yet, an island that I may lay claim to as my own, I can repay you with the knowledge that you've helped secure the great Dr. Ivo Robotnik a place where he can properly work. For the betterment of...everyone.
Apparently. Pah.
Oh, and if there's anyone out there versed in this "magitech" I keep hearing about, make yourself known! I'll have you disclose your findings so that I might better ascertain the nature of this technological power. Better yet, if you have anything worth disassembling, bring it to me.
But don't expect compensation!

[There had been a glance back towards Valiant at a low toned but very computerized Vi. Reaching over and picking up a plush that looked like some odd brown fox and handing it to Valiant
who handed it down to Bundle, making those very dial-up toned sounds of joy.]
I have, however, started tinkering in creating an automaton- small, given the idea that pushed me towards moving ahead.
[He couldn't deny there being some irony present.]

[Like unleashing a metal virus that turned every organic lifeform into a metal zombie without first devising of a cure. Not to mention Starline's little pet projects.]
I'm certainly interested in learning more. Especially about your current project, Turo!

They are far stronger than the creatures in my own time, and some are the more aggressive side as well- but that aggression could very easily be due to the fact they were pulled through a time machine and suddenly being in a different environment.
[Biology definitely one of his fields given just- the tone of voice.]
I would be happy to share what I know of the magitech here, along with progress of that particular project. Most of my time was spent collecting the material needed for both body and power source.
[No matter, he couldn't help but fully believe that information... should be shared.]

But when you say they're more powerful, do you mean physically? Or are they equipped with armaments and armor? From the looks of them, they seem quite battle-ready.
So, what is it exactly you are building? A companion creature to these time-displaced [Don't say 'things'] souls?
[Better.]
no subject
I do mean physically, yes. The armor provided by the metal does help as well, but they still fall into having the same weaknesses to certain Types- which could be thought of as their main elemental alignment if that is a base you are more familiar with? Most are unfamiliar with Pokémon here, after all.
More something that can get into far more narrow places whenever exploring, or looking for materials. I am hoping to make it compatible with the shellphones to get a view of what it 'sees' as well.

Ah, a drone! Fully autonomous I assume? If so, I can lend a hand coding the AI.

[There was movement before Turo pulled a brass and copper ball that fit into his palm, and with a tap of a finger against it the ball uncurled-]
Fully autonomous once it is coded, as I also wish for some ability to control it remotely if the need comes for something more precise. I would appreciate some help in coding, of course.

[Eggman leans forward and adjusts his glasses as he looks at the drone. It reminds him of one of his badniks, in a way.]
Ah! Elegant in its design but refined! You're quite skilled, Turo. And I don't offer compliments lightly.
[This is already proving fortuitous. Sometimes playing 'nice' does pay off, doesn't it?]
It would be my pleasure to help you with the coding!
[And slip some of my own spyware into the program while simultaneously stealing the design to use for his own purposes.]

[That Arven had gotten, done his own research on a different section contained within; notes still on the pages. Even the Professor's own notes elsewhere.
A slight tip of his head, like a half nod.]
I am used to looking for materials here, as being able to control earth, stone, and crystal with one of the magical abilities I acquired has helped locate it. Otherwise I am also used to handmaking tools and machines.
Has come in rather handy in this world when I cannot find something, even if it takes a little longer.
[Also part of how he went hunting for various elemental gems and crystals, but that was beside the point for the time being.]
You would of course have my thanks, along with updates as I refine their design- mostly finding ways to help strengthen joints and anything else. If wanted, I would of course provide you with a number of them you may tinker with as you please.
While I did spend many years working alone, I find working with others here has accomplished quite a bit.

In exchange, I offer up my considerable expertise in robotics, engineering, and artificial intelligence. I've built my fair share of completely sentient automatons, after all. I'm a bit of an old hand at it!
This magic you speak of intrigues me, however. I've heard that the limitations are elemental, though, as I'm sure you're aware the range of elements is broad. Are these abilities that useful?
no subject
[More so in an exchange of sorts- wasn't it good to share what the end of working together produced?]
Most technology of my own world is not near that level, for the most part. Then again we have little need, given Pokémon known as Rotoms have the ability to posses electronics of all sorts and sort of stand-in for it. I would enjoy hearing of what you have built over your years at it.
I have found them very useful, for smaller practical things or dealing with things that seek to harm. To the point I have actually gotten two of the tattoos that grant the use of elemental magic; what I mentioned before, and plants.
no subject
[That's...oddly enough, rather fascinating. And potentially useful information.]
I see. Perhaps I should consider something similar. Though I'm not normally one to rely on such things...I would be remiss if I simply ignored every advantage offered me.
L i f e
We have companies that use this unique quality to invite Rotoms to possess things like phones and various machinery to act as AI to help those using it. Rotomphones are very common, as an example. [He did pause, thoughtful-] I could always see if I may be able to regain my Rotomphone, as I did a few of my pokémon.
[It was technically his, after all, and he had made use of it with the computer in Zero Lab-]
If you wish, I could demonstrate what I have managed to figure out with my own. Both for my own work, and if I end up having to defend myself either with or without my pokémon at my side. The hesitance can be understood, and even simply wondering if it would be useful at all from varying points of view.
Re: L i f e
"Regain?" What exactly do you mean by "regain?"
Honestly, Turo? I would love a demonstration of what you're capable of.

There is a marketplace on Eltrut, the RAY Trade Center, that one can go to and ask for certain items from our worlds in trade for specific amounts of coin or treasure. It takes a few days, and they may not always be successful due to the use of magic- like casting a fishing line into a void, almost. They also sell other items, some odder than others, and will take trades for certain items.
[A reason he had watched the pokémon returned to him in that way closely, in case something might have affected them.]
When you have the time I would be more than happy to. I can understand that seeing can be the best way to study it, after all.
no subject
As for how the RAY Trade Center works...do the items they fish for have to be my distinct possessions? Or can they be something specific from my world? Something that I may have once held but have since lost before arriving here?
[Like a Chaos Emerald.]
Yes, yes! I would love a demonstration and a chance to document your abilities!
no subject
[As far as Turo could gather it seemed easier to grab generic items, or something tied to a person given what magical strings could still be attached through the rifts to their own world. It was fascinating, really.]
I can easily make time for you in order to do so, given most of my time is spent tasks and various projects of my own studies.
[not here but also kinda sorta is--]
Turo no.
Just because the guy was another scientist--
Dojima was listening into the conversation but just. Out of camera shot and making a 'oh boy' grimace of an expression--]
