Mayhap. There are some cemeteries lying about, but my assumption would be that the souls depart for that leviathan every so often.

Death freaks people out. Most of the people I know don't like thinking about it unless they're already ghosts.

Aye, I suppose that it does. However, death comes for all in the end. Without it, we cannot have an appropriate appreciation for life.
