i don't know if tadashi had plans with anyone that i wasn't aware of, but. he's gone. just so everyone knows. been looking everywhere. baymax's scanner seems fine and he isn't picking up tadashi's life signs anywhere here. tadashi wouldn't ignore me trying to call or message him like this.

[He knew this would likely happen. One way or another, Tadashi staying here and him going back home to Aunt Cass or something, they'd end up separated. It just feels cruel. Like he had just got his brother back only for this to happen. He can't help feeling upset. Bitter. Not as raging and furious as with Callaghan but still.

It hurts.]

but if he had anything going, i can do my best to help and step in? maybe. depending on what he might have been helping with.

[He can at least offer that much. After he's had a couple of days or so to readjust to being without Tadashi again. If that were even possible. The realization that he's alone here now sinking in. Well, outside of Baymax.]

[He assumes that the other would have checked. But he has to offer. There's no rush. If there is something important that Cid might still need from the notes or anything. Hiro is sure that Tadashi had more things going on than he told Hiro about. And he doesn't mind helping where he can.]

Don't mind at all. Tadashi already let me copy things, so I've already noted what I needed.

[He eyes Hiro for a moment.]

While there are a few things I can think of, you sure you feel up to it?

Ah, alright. I just wanted to be sure if you might not still need some of these first. If you've already copied some then that's okay.

[He doesn't mind then, taking them. Taking anything left from what Tadashi might have left behind. As a reminder. Maybe for him to continue and finish in Tadashi's stead. To do what he can to help. Hiro puts the notes in his backpack before glancing to Cid and giving a nod.]

Y-yeah. I mean. I feel like keeping busy, keeping distracted will help. Last time....ah, last time I just moped around in my room for ages. So I want to try and keep busy.

[If he is too busy, too distracted, he won't stop to think on it. On Tadashi being sent back just to die in the fire.]

[...Last time.

There is just a small furrow of his brows at that, but he won't ask, already catching enough meaning from that alone. Instead he just nods and pulls out a small list.]

In that case, if you wish to continue helping out, these are the ones I had Tadashi working on. They're mostly on the robotics side, which seem to be in your area of expertise as well.

[A small smile at that.]

That cleaning robot he gave is quite the invention, so could certainly use more of those around.

[There are similar apparatus with automaton features on the list, though nothing too complicated. Simple machines to help with clearing out rubble, fieldwork, a ship version of the cleaning robot—things like that.]

[Hiro might forget who he has or hasn't told about Tadashi dying back home. Trying to keep track of it. Especially right now. So there might well be times that he slips up about that. Still, he nods, agreeing. Robotics, that he could probably help with.]

Ah, sure. Robotics is kinda my thing too. [His are more along the lines of ones for bot fighting, but he did also make things like the nanobots. He glances at the list, considering.]

Hm? Ah, yeah. You should have seen the one we initially made when we were younger to try and do our chores and help Aunt Cass around the cafe. That....didn't go as well as we wanted. But more like the cleaning bot I could do.

Then I'll leave it to you. I've left my own little ideas, such as additional features or methods to consider as well, mostly to accommodate the lack of more advanced technology available to you.

But no need to use them if they're not needed or unusable. And, of course I am happy to work with you with these as well.

Oh. Alright. Yeah, sure. I might figure some myself. But -- thanks. I'll have a look at them later and see. Let you know. If there is something I might want help with. Especially given the technology being different here. I'm still figuring this magitech stuff and all.

[But, well. Cid has been a big help. And evidently still intends to support Hiro. To be there and work together. He has to appreciate and be grateful for that. The teen gives an attempt at a small smile.]

Can't say I'm much better, but I just say everyday is a learning experience.

[He can see it's still difficult for him, which is understandable. But hopefully this will help give him something to do to keep moving forward.]

But there's something else I wanted to ask you, Hiro.

Something like that. There's still so much to learn here.

[Hiro wants to try to keep himself busy and occupied. Distracted. He glances to the other, his head tilting, shifting his mess of bangs as the other says he has something to ask. He wants to try and help if he can. Distract himself from Tadashi's absence.]

Ask me what?

How are you fitting in here?

[A soft smile.]

I know it was mainly your brother who accepted my request and you tagged along, and while you are always welcome here I thought I should get our thoughts.

Hm? I mean. It's been okay? I mean. I'm used to kind of being an odd one out. At least here, I can help out more. Help you. Work with you on stuff. And Professor Turo.

[So, he doesn't mind. He's figuring this has been alright, considering. He's sort of managed to fit in a little better here, in comparison to dealing with school back home where he was bullied because of being so young.]

I know Gohan mentioned their crew was looking for people, that they'd be keen to have us, but I didn't really get the chance to talk to you or Tadashi about that before....

Gohan?

[A look of interest as he sits back in his chair thoughtfully.]

A friend of yours?

Yeah. He's one of the others here that's around my age. He's in the...Plus Ultra crew. That was it. Yeah. I mean, even if I were to go to another crew, of course, I'd still be happy to come and help you out as well. Working together we would be able to figure stuff quicker and easier.

[It isn't that Hiro doesn't feel he fits in, that he is uncomfortable or anything like that. He's just spent so long with others that were older than him. It's probably a good thing? For him to hang out with kids his age.

Baymax behind Hiro offers reassurance to Cid that he would keep an eye on Hiro, and provide assistance if Cid or his crew need medical support.]

[Cid listens with some interest before he grins and shake his head.]

Say no more. As I said you are always welcome here, but what's more important is that you do what you want—your choice. That's always been my motto and if going to another crew is your wish, then I won't stop you.

Yeah? I'd still be keen to come work with you if you need help with some projects. If you need a hand. I just figured, I'm so used to being around people older than me. Might be good? To be with others closer to my age?

[It isn't that he isn't happy here. That he hasn't made friends and acquaintances. It's just that he has to consider what his next steps are. What he wants to do, where he thinks he might be able to help best.]

Of course! I could still learn quite a bit from you, Hiro, and I would never turn down help like this.

No need to ever ask for permission, either—you are welcome to come to and from the Roost as you please, even join us for anything we might do.

[He'll reach over and give Hiro a little hair ruffle.]

You may no longer be a member of the Hideaway in name, but you will always remain a part of it.

[Hiro agrees to visit, to come help out. He'd intended to anyway. So that was fine. He is used to the hair ruffles, used to Tadashi messing with his hair, picking him up and all. It makes him ache slightly, but he does appreciate it. The reassurance.]
