[so maybe you're just browsing the network, minding your own business, when a new message pops on the screen. let's see, nothing out of the ordina--
what is that. no, really, Angel doesn't show himself on the network that often, so either you've seen him around, or you haven't. for those who haven't, he's a very tall, lanky, spidery-looking dude, with pink fur and pointy teeth and strange eyes. he has two (visible) sets of arms, and legs, on top of that! yeah, he's a real piece of work, this one. fortunately, he's not here to bother you about magic. he's here to bother you about other things]
Sup b- er. Pirates!
The name's Angel, an' I got a little survey thingie I'm conductin'. Like, the most informal survey ever, okay? Lemme tell ya, I've been here a little while, an' it amazes me when I hear about other worlds different from my own. It's incredible, like, a lotta you go through stuff I couldn't even imagine.
My question is, out of all the people you've talked to, which world do ya wanna visit the most?
I'll go first! [as cool as Angel usually is, it's obvious he's passionate about what he has to say] This kid told me about a world with little animals or monsters, or whatever, that are called Pokémon! There are a whole bunch of different species, an' I wanna meet 'em all! [wait. he calms himself] ...They don't have cats or dogs, but there are Pokémon for those, I guess. Sounds fun, right?
So, what about you, huh? Lemme know about other worlds you've heard about while bein' here. Or tell me about your worlds. I just wanna see if anythin' beats Kieran's Pokémon-world.

A pokey-dex... I think Kieran started showin' me one of those. It had pictures of all the little guys inside, right? Yer just... makin' them for others?

[Turo could be seen leaning back, pausing the brushing as the 'goat' creature huffed a little and- well, sure was something that came into view, handing him one of the physical copies in hand as he sat back up and--
Ah. A little wave as he chuckled.]
If I am able to get my hands on my Rotomphone from home, I may be able to make a digital copy far easier that can act as an app for the shellphone, which would have actual pictures. Still, this one is very much available for curiosity's sake.

I'd love t'see yer Pokédex sometime, even if it is, uh. "Old-fashioned?" [he makes air quotes with his fingers] An' whatever you wanna share with me about yer world is cool, too. I'd be happy t'listen!

The old-fashioned way to keep track of pokémon was a notebook style pokédex, pen and paper; these days they are digital in one way or another. An old colleague of mine actually created the rotomphone pokédex app that most people in the region I am from use. [He was having to further annoy the goat catapillar- which was then picked up by Valiant who decided to take over the brushing. All was well. -as he flipped through the notebook and, showing a detailed and full color sketch of what looked like a cat, along with a few other scenic sketches around information.] I would be happy to, and I can very often be found at Cosmo Conservatory on Eltrut if you are ever passing by.
I can even give you this to browse through- I know quite a bit about pokémon give I am what is known as a Pokémon Professor. Most of my life is dedicated to the study and care of them.

A Pokémon Professor? That sounds like an interestin' job. But you must enjoy what yer doin', regardless. I would, too, studyin' new creatures all the time.
dealing with sick so ff sorry for weird tagging times
Each region has their own Pokémon Professor, and often times it is our job to get young trainers started on their journeys and equip them with something to start off with- in Paldea, however, we have Uva Academy for that. This one here, Sprigatito, is one of our region's three starter pokémon; a Grass type.
[... he also loves talking about Pokémon.]
no worries! take your time!
Hang on. Is there only one Pokémon Professor per region? An' all new trainers go to 'em?
[don't think about it too hard, Angel]
💜
Normally, yes- some will take on apprentices of course. There are also some regions that handles things a little differently. The region of Alola, for example, also have what is called Island Kahunas and they are very capable of setting a trainer to pick their starter.
[A lovely place, if he could recall correctly.]
I have been very busy within Paldea's Great Crater, so the current director of Uva Academy has been seeing that each new student is able to choose their starter.

So, Pokémon trainers are kids that start out on a journey to... train pokémon?
no subject
Some even travel to different regions to study pokémon there, and perhaps try those Gym Challenges as well. An adventure where they will experience so much, and perhaps make incredible connections on the way with other trainers.
[It was fun, and for some it was living a dream.]
Even I went through the Gym Challenges of Paldea, so that I could battle the Elite Four and their Champion in order to become a Champion level Trainer when I was younger.
no subject
That makes sense. So, then, as a trainer, kids get to experience their world, an' then can branch off from just training pokémon into... other things, maybe. Sounds pretty cool.

The journey simply helps young trainers decide what they may want to do with their lives, even if it means coming home and living an ordinary life with their pokémon as still faithful companions- or let them go to create families of their own.
It is also a reason for Uva's annual Treasure Hunt; it is to help a young trainer discover what is most important in their lives.
[Who wouldn't find some inspiration there? He knew the memories he held were fond, even if a little foggy here and there.]
no subject
Man! That sounds so fun! Though, if kids are bein' sent off on their own, with just pokémon, I imagine it'd get dangerous, too. But, I s'ppose as long as there're adults around to help, it's not that bad.
no subject
Their pokémon are capable of protecting them- wild pokémon will attack trainers; some because they have crossed into their territory, and others because that pokémon is seeking out a worthy trainer to grow stronger with. A reason it is well taught that someone without a pokémon should not venture out into certain areas. [Some pokémon just as eager as young trainers to get out there.] When out in the wilderness it can be difficult for them, but it is why in Paldea we have turn smartphones into the pokédex as well. So that help can be on call, and there are various help stations even in those areas. The snowy areas can offer their own dangers, just as the desert may.
It can be difficult to account for everything that could happen, but it is why we try to equip them with knowledge- including how to adapt and bring the necessary gear. There are others out there, of course. We encourage trainers to go out with those they trust, even if some go solo.

I think I'm startin' to understand! I have more questions, but I don't wanna take up alla yer time right now. I definitely would like to chat some more, an' look at those drawings of yours. Kieran an' his school friend wanna show me their pokémon, too!
no subject
You are more than welcome to contact me, or even visit Cosmo Conservatory, for questions and chat, along with seeing the drawings. The pokémon those two have are different from those of my own team here as well.
no subject
Oh, yeah! You have some, too!
[he almost forgot]
Well, I wanna meet 'em all! I'll stop by really soon! I just gotta find the Conservatory.

[Turo picked up the shellphone and- well, there would be coordinates, along with a detail drawn map sent—]
It is on Eltrut, and I can be found at the medical center, which is not too far away from the entrance and reception building.
no subject
Cool! Thanks a lot, Professor! I'll be comin' t'see ya in a few days.
[he has quite a bit of free time]

[And by that tone? It was an honest truth.]
