[you can't stop her now that she's figured out how to use her shellphone with video and photo capabilities, and that means... she's going to be causing problems on purpose (and not on purpose)]
What in Storms name are THESE on my food??? Are they BUGS? Are they actually putting bugs on my food??

I've eaten some questionable food, but never.... BUGS.
[Are shrimps bugs???? discuss.]

Bugs usually have many legs. These have many legs and beady little eyes. I can't imagine the crunch or... anything about this, really. How in the world does it taste good?

Maybe.]They're shellfish, technically. The exterior has been removed, so the texture should be quite pleasant— the meat firm and just a bit sweet. You're not meant to eat the tails, mind you. You can pull the last bit of shell away if the legs bother you, as well.

[He's just curious!]
I assure you, shrimp are perfectly safe and are even considered a luxury at times, depending on where one is in the world, though I can certainly understand not being able to get past prior associations. A terrible shame, however. I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

[While she knows that eating animals is just eating the dead flesh of something, it's not rotting, and that's the turn off here.]
They can be eaten, but I wouldn't want to. Maybe as a last resort. ...but if you're sure these aren't... like crem, maybe.

That said, I can assure you that is not the case here. They're quite safe, and their own diet isn't nearly so unsettling.
