If they dont: cannot disclose obviously but they shouldve checked

So yes [ There's probably just like whole disputes about haunted houses on the Surface that Kimmuriel has unashamedly eavesdropped on, it's like the equivalent of trashy TV for him.

(In Menzoberranzan, of course, any ghosts are usually vaporized or imprisoned for future use, by priestesses or wizards as appropriate. You can't just leave them lying around they're a resource.) ]

I could detect them if they were sufficiently solid enough to have minds and thoughts but i would need other tools to sense spirits on their own

Plenty of ghosts have thoughts. They're just usually of the "raghhh I'm mad because my lover scorned me now I'll kill everyone she knows" variety.
