[There was hesitation as the goetia stared at his shellphone. There was a burning question he wanted assistance with but also wanting to keep it from this imp roommate. Was there a way to filter who saw? He rarely touched the thing other to message Blitzø...


Pushing a few keys, experimenting, he turned on the video fed. Two pairs of red eyes blinked back as surprise washed across his owlish face. Welp, guess we're doing this. Stolas just hoped that maybe Blitzø was occupied with other things to see.


Raising a hand, he waved his talons at the screen forcing a smile.]


Hello there. I think this is the first time I've addressed everyone in this manner since being here.

I have seen come on here to ask for advice, which is the reason why I'm signing on. There wouldn't be someone here who knows how to cook and would be willing to teach me? Sadly my ability barely goes past pouring a bowl of cereal with milk. [He reaches up to flatten the plumes on the top of his head, his eyes drifting to the side.] Since I'm... living with someone, I want to try my hand a it. To be a good roommate!

If anyone is willing to help, I would appreciate it.

[ OH OH OH! Nimona recognizes Stolas the instant he posts to the network, Blitz's drawing was just that good.

Her hand is up in the air like a student dying to be picked to answer a question. ]

Me me! I know how to cook and can teach you! We can keep it secret as a surprise to your roommate. My ship has plenty of room for us to practice.

[ She has been dying to meet and harass Blitz's not-boyfriend. ]

[The owl's eyes fluttered as a smile stretched across his beak.]

That would be most appreciated if you could help me out. Also, keeping it a secret. I do want to able to surprise him.

Yes and yes! I cook all the time. Anything you wanna learn, I'm the Nimona for the job.

[ Not quite the saying, but it suits her much better. She's going to teach Stolas all of Blitz's favorite meals - juuuust as soon as she learns what those are. ]

It'll be a secret between us. [ And the entire network, but they can at least surprise Blitz with the dishes Stolas learns. ] When do you want to start? We're currently docked at Eltrut after Elah swam away but I could fly over there whenever you need a ride.

[ Fly she says, while looking very Human-Shaped. ]

[The owl repeats, catching the seemingly young girl's name. The smile on his face tilts upward, eyes softening slightly.]

I do appreciate your discretion on this, Miss Nimona. [So totally banking Blitzø doesn't see this...] I'm Stolas of the Ar-

[Caught up in his autopilot self introduction, he cuts himself off sharply. The pink haired girl could see the demon wince slightly, the grin draining from his face. No, he couldn't call himself that anymore, could he? He was Stolas, just Stolas.

The ex-prince's head bowed, forcing a smile back into its place but there was a sadness behind his eyes.]

Stolas, call me Stolas. [He echoes back before shaking his head to bury unpleasant thoughts back down. The friendly demeanor returns as he lifted his eyes back up.]

I haven’t planed that far ahead, to be honest. I didn't know if there would be anyone willing to help. My apartment is on Eltrut, but if we practice here we will have to do it while my roommate is away. [He head cocked curiously at her, sharp eyes looking her over.] Though, aren't you quite small to give anyone 'a ride'?

[ Maybe Blitz already told Stolas about her. Already Stolas looks a little less awkward. ]

Just Nimona is okay, since I'm not always a girl. Sometimes I'm not even human-shaped! [ They probably both know Blitz is stalking this. ] Nice to meetcha, Stolas!

[ She notices the abrupt end to the introduction, and doesn't question it. Things happened and while she learned some of it, there's no point in making him feel worse by pointing it out. ]

Do you like nicknames? I like nicknames and I like giving them. [ Discovering who you are is a hard thing, especially when your whole world got upended. She's glad he's trying, and happy to lend a hand. ]

I've got an apartment there I never use, so don't worry, I got us covered. We can be cooking ninjas together! We'll definitely find a way to keep it a secret. And I'll make you a super-secret cookbook you can practice with. [ Nimona holds up an arm and makes a muscle. ] Never doubt these arms. Though, what's your opinion on pink friendly dragons that also happened to be named Nimona?

[Not human shaped? The goetia's head cocked curiously. Was she a demon, like him? Never judge a book by its cover, as they say. It was definitely a question to ask for later.

Shhhh! Don't jinx it! Blitzø it totally unaware of any of this and Stolas is being super sneaky. He is going to keep thinking this until proven wrong.

The giant owl hoots a soft laugh, giving her a small nod.]

Nicknames are fine. I also give them to people I like as a way to show my affection. You're not already planning on giving me one, are you?

[Yet, he wasn't used them in a while. He had made it a point to stop referring to the imp by 'Blitzy' after that night. Though he has let slip a few 'Darling's slip during their date which seemed.... fine? And Octavia, even when she was grown, would always be his little Starfire.

But then she saud the magic word. Book. He liked books. Better yet, a secret book. Nimona could see an excited glimmer shine behind his eyes, bouncing in place on his talons.]

Yes, I like this idea. Maybe we can use your place for our secret location to practice. If, that would be okay with you that is. [Again, another hoot escapes him. A dragon? Was she a dragon? What was it with dragons and trying to abduct him?] I don't really have the best track record when it comes to dragons. Though, you're in luck. I only specifically like them if the dragon is pink and friendly.

[ Nimona is Nimona - she doesn't identify as people or demon. Only claiming whatever shape she's in currently, but she'd be willing to share that.

Yeah sure, totally a secret network post that Blitz is not stalking because he sees Nimona bugging Stolas like she said she would.

I give 'em out for a few reasons. It's fun, coming up with new nicknames. I gotta think of a good one for you, and then we need secret code names.

[ Sometimes Nimona will use nicknames as a sign of affection, other times she's being her annoying gremlin self at people she doesn't like. Stolas would fall within the former group.

Welp, she knows what Stolas likes now. Books. Not her strong suit, what with having to teach herself how to read and write. But she already has a cookbook of recipes. ]

Yes, I'll give a key so you can use it if you get other offers or a hankering to practice in secret. I can't remember the last time I was even there. [ Sometimes she was a dragon! ] Don't worry, this one is very friendly until someone messes with her friends and people. Since your new cooking teacher is super connected to this pink and friendly dragon, it'll count you as a friend! It'll reign fire down on anyone and other bad dragons that try to hurt you.

[Secret code names? Oh, he quite liked that. Made what they were doing feel like something exciting, scandalous. Even if it was just them sneaking off to learn how not to set a kitchen on fire as he attempted to make something that resembled food.

God, it felt like an age since he's smiled this much. He tried to ignore the stab of guilt at his heart. How could he be happy after everything he did? Left behind? There was little he cold do about it now. Just going to bottle this up and... Laugh.]

If that's the intention of them, then I need to think up for you too. Hmm... I will need time to come up with a good one.

[Then his head cocks curiously at her.]

What do you mean, haven't been there in a while? Where have you been staying? Wait.. how long have you been here? Would I need to bring things from home? [There was a flurry of questions flung her way as he run with his stray thoughts.] If they are as friendly as you're making them out to be, I would like to meet them. When can that be arranged?

[ If there's one thing that Nimona is good at, is spicing up the most ordinary things and bringing chaotic fun energy to people. She is a shapeshifter on a mission here, with Stolas.

It's okay to smile, to laugh, to have happy moments - if that's what it takes to survive whatever he's going through beyond this place. Nimona knows that all too well. ]

Yes, we can think about it during our first cooking lesson. We'll have secret code names before we're done, I'm sure!

[ A shrug. ]

I've got a crew. I live on the ship for the most part. The apartment is just... too empty, you know? Oh uh... it'll be two years in August. I went home once for a little bit, though. Nah, my kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking stuff we'll need and I'll get ingredients to get us started. [ Start him off with something easy to make and then Stolas can tell her what he wants to make to surprise Blitz when it's not blasted on the network for their second lesson. ] It can be as soon as you want!

[Excuse the owl as he chokes on air upon hearing how long she was stuck here. It completely erased anything he was going to mention prior.]

T-two years?

[He croaked. He couldn't imagine being away for that long from home. From everything. From Via... Mild panic washed across his features as that thought rattled in his brain.]

Don't you have people waiting for you back home? They must be worried sick.

[ Yeah, she kind of expecting that reaction. Nimona does know about Stolas' daughter (and his evil ex-wife and brother-in-law), and... ]

A few months ago, I would have said there was nothing but loneliness, heartbreak, and death for me waiting for me back home. All my life, people only ever saw me as a monster because I was different from them. Anytime I thought I had found someone who might accept and understand me, they turned their blade against me in the end.

[ Her gaze drifts off-screen for a brief moment, her smile sad. ]

A thousand years of waiting for someone to see me, really see me... and I found that in this world. I didn't want to "go home", because this place felt more like home to me than that place ever did. Then after a year and a half, I did go back. I became the "monster" they all feared, but there was one person... one person who had hurt me before, that was able to accept all of me. Some other things happened and maybe the whole kingdom would be happy to see me now, but I dunno.

[ She had died and came back weeks later, but doesn't know what everyone thinks of her now yet. Nimona clears her throat, and shrugs, looking back at Stolas. ]

The one thing I did learn, time isn't moving back home without us. I went right back to the same point in time I came from. So you don't have to worry if you think someone back home will be without you while you're here, at least.
