Good day, everyone.
[An easily polite opening, Turo carrying the phone in hand, just getting a shot of his head and shoulder—]
My apologies for being on low contact for a while, even thought some of you could still easily find me at Cosmo Conservatory animal sanctuary. There was a... much needed break taken, one could say. Not that it was completely filled with rest.
[—some could likely recognize Dojima sitting on the floor within view, Mariposa walking up beside the man and setting one of the wiggly, squeaky-noise making puppies right into the man's hands. More than one in view as while Dojima was playing with them, well.
In a short amount of time the detective was simply on his back and at the 'mercy' of Xolos puppies just starting to get their paws under them. Iron Valiant carrying a few clean blankets simply stepping over/around it all easily.
Turo focusing the camera on himself, a very sleepy Xolos puppy cradled against his chest -a few white spots on otherwise black fuzz- with a loose lavender 'ribbon' around its neck. Could possibly count 8 puppies in total.]
Mariposa made sure of that. Once they are a little older, and house trained, these little ones going off to a less crowded home may do them well; and do not worry if you do consider it, this breed does do well around other animals.
Do feel free to stop by and visit in person, or simply ask over this.
[Despite that Things Keep Happening™ there, at least this had been a brighter spot.]

[Maybe this is overkill, but Shepard did really like her pets...]
Ah - house training. Probably be appreciated. I never had pets growing up, actually. Shepard did, though.
no subject
[That would be a map and easy directions on Eltrut to get there.]
Creatures some would consider as pets in my world are very much a part of life- more so when they have certain abilities at a very young age. A reason those who wish to embark on training with them are often given Starters that have been prepped to help make learning easier for them.
no subject
[He thinks he's so funny for that. Acting like this is some undercover mission.]
Pretty sure that's similar on most planets where we're from too. Just wasn't really my experience. And anything bigger than a fish or a small rodent was typically banned from being kept on stations.
no subject
[Possible pet an important mission-]
The creatures where I am from are very much tied to many parts of life; be they training companions, or just what most would view as long time pets. We are seen to have the same origin as well, and more of a reason to have such a deep sort of tie.
Studying the animals of this world has been interesting, to say the least.
no subject
[The most important of missions, honestly.]
You're a biologist, then? Or... naturalist, I suppose?
no subject
[Which was only a brief answer that could bring a lot more questions-]
I study the creatures of my world, and help others learn to raise them, along with look into strange phenomenon to better understand and even harness some influence from it. Most of my work would be focused on the region I am based in of course, but it pays to look into what goes on in the various other regions as well.
Here that means I am capable of creating various medicines, items that could be used in fights, and can create or invent various technologies limited only by resources. On top of my work with animals and plants.

Garrus Vakarian. Used to man the guns on a warship, now I'm working with the Seventh Heroine.
[Which is going to have so many guns eventually--]
I see how working with animals translates here, but what about the rest? Haven't met many biologists who work with tech and medicine on the side.
[Mordin doesn't count. Mordin is an outlier.]
no subject
[Even from a few run ins and even working with a certain variety of plants for... reasons. Still-]
I have taken the study of animals and plants to better understand how magic works in this world, and take that knowledge to magitech. I work with various elemental crystals and gems for power sources, or even cutting them to be used in enchantments. With this I have developed knowledge in using runes much like one might circuitry; one example would be the energy shield shelters used in exploring the tundra some time ago.
On the plant side of things I have been able to develop healing potions and even antidotes for certain afflictions. Sleep aides, breathing aides, and more.
[He dabbled in a lot of things for the sake of research and- well. Helping people anyway he could.]
no subject
[Weirdly enough, if you ask him. He's still going to cover that ship in guns so help him-]
Damn, you've been busy. [It sounds like something Tali would want to look into.] The crystals could be used to generate personal shields? Like a battery?
Sleep aids. Side effects to those?
[No reason!!]
no subject
[Sometimes you may be a healer, b u t-]
I have a habit of keeping myself busy, but have been getting better at taking breaks. [More so when he had a partner to remind him to come up for some air.] Indeed! I specialize in working with crystals, shaping them to harness power and focus it; and that seems to translate well to the elemental crystals and gems here. I have even managed to create emergency shields hidden within a locket- of course they need time to recharge after use. The larger ones last longer and can take quite a few strong hits before they start to give.
Depends on the strength of dosage taken, but it ranges from grogginess to perhaps strange dreams; no night terrors at least.
no subject
[But we're going to move right on past that, yep.]
That makes sense. Any kind of power cell, battery, or whatever you have it, has its limit. Even our shields - where I'm from - get depleted the more hits they take. Just hard to imagine gemstones being able to hold that kind of power.
[No night terrors. He's quiet a minute more.]
Might be asking for a lot. A dog, some tech and medication. Feels like I should be paying you.
no subject
I try to better them with each new design.
[Which could be said of everything he made; the more he used something, the better the refining method of anything became over that time.]
Understandable, really. I do take payment, but I am just as happy to trade that for anything that could go towards Cosmo Conservatory, or simply testing something new I may create.
no subject
[At least Tali isn't here to overhear that. Don't praise your found family sibling where they can overhear you.]
I don't have much in the way of trade... There's not much call for calibrating weapon systems here. But if you'd take payments, that, I can do.
no subject
[Listen- sometimes all it took was something simple to create a spark of inspiration for him. Still, it sounded to Turo as if he was certainly fond of this person.]
You could help test shields with any sort of weaponry on hand- I do not make weapons, but you could say I lean more towards defense. Still, I do take payments in either time or actual money; a mix even with the ability to ask for extra hands around the animal sanctuary here and there.
no subject
[If so, count him out. None whatsoever. Thank you.]
Well, if I'm anything... it's a pretty good target. Who does happen to have a lot of weapons at his disposal.
no subject
[Something to do in his free time, really. Personal projects helped him here and there after all.]
Well, if you would like to help test out personal shields as they are developed -along with larger ones- your help would be welcome.
no subject
[He barely tolerates boats. And ships. Under the water is a flat no.]
Just sign me up as a crash test dummy then.
no subject
[He'd be more apt to test it himself rather than tempt fate with others until he was sure or certain safeties.]
Greatly appreciated- and I shall let you know when I have the latest model ready for testing.
no subject
[His people sink. Like rocks.]
Thanks, much appreciated.

[Some bubble charm or other, but there were items that came and went with the months simply due to their rarities or even seasons.]
Of course, it is better when both sides feel there is a fair trade- or so I find.

Any idea what kind?
Sorry, Health Happened _(:з)∠)_
I do not typically look them over very closely as I do not hold much interest in them personally.
