[ in the background is a very low "yes ma'am!".

surge leans back, her ears twitching as she nods to herself. she shifts to the left a bit, then to the right now sure which side is her best side but... she'll figure that out later. ]

Okay, listen up! Your fellow heroes [ self-proclaimed ] are inna crisis! I got a prop...eristion for anyone willing to take on the challenge!

[ from behind the camera, another voice can be heard: ]

Yeah, that! The reward? We'll get to that later! A N Y way! There's this damn menace on the prowl causin' trouble as we speak, and you all need to be on the lookout. He's out there creatin' monsters and trying to put people in peril, but we know his weakness, and we'll get rid of him for ya before he tries to kill ya next.

[ hands on her hips, the tenrec nods to her own words because it makes sense, why wouldn't it? ]

Hand me the... y'know! [ she's holding out her hand towards the camera person, asking for something. ] So I know you're all curious about who this nefarious fiend is. My cool and artistic sidekick has taken it upon himself to draw this cretin.

[ a flap of a sheet of paper now means the camera screen, revealing the culprit. ]

THIS GUY. Bring him to us and we will beat the shit out of him and you never have to deal with his evil again! So, anyone up for the task?

[ through voice someone sounds like a sleaze, but maybe they're okay to discuss this with considering they do act like a polite, concerned citizen. so far, everyone has said positive pieces about shadow, nothing ever negative, and surge wouldn't be surprised if he's playing them all for fools.

A few days ago? Let's see... ah, I believe I was trying to assist in that matter regarding the leviathan that had appeared. They had several painful spines stuck in their back, so I was seeing what could be done to get them removed.

[Although, Azul had shown up more so to see if there were any samples of said spines and things he could take as research samples for alchemy purposes, but he sure as hell isn't going to admit to that.]

Well, you're pretty much caught up to speed.

[ this is saying it all started there, but many idiots were going to that creature to try and help. this is why people need someone to watch after them, idiot mistakes that could have got them killed. ]

He was inside of that thing puttin' blobs together. [ the viruses... ] Buildin' a weapon of mass destruction, and he was gunna control it by using its shadow.

[ now whether that's true or not is yet to be seen, but she's going by what she saw him do. ]

He was lettin' those things crawl on his body, he probably has more of 'em in stock to make'm on the fly!

Really now? That is certainly peculiar for someone to be doing...

[Azul is actually not quite as amused now, a little more serious now as he tries to figure out what exactly would be the purpose of Shadow doing something like that... if that is indeed what this person witnessed.]

[ whatever evil he was doing, it wasn't anything he wanted someone taking part in. ]

Then he took those spines that you talked about and put them IN the slime!! Now was he makin' a monster or was he MAKIN' a monster!!

I don't know, honestly. I wish I had seen it for myself so that I could figure out what exactly his goal was... but since you tried to stop him, I suppose I should ask: did he or... whatever it was that he was trying to make attack you?

And what were you gunna do? Get in the way? Listen, civilian, I would have had to drag your sorry butt outta there.

[ maybe not, but she believes this completely that she could save and handle the monster if the hedgehog didn't act so weird. ]

It did. I tried to use those monsters attacks against him, but he would just kick them back in our direction. I think we should kill'em, what do you think?

If you mean killing them as in both Shadow-san and this monster, then I may have to disagree. At least in regards to the former, if only because we have just your word on what happened and not physical evidence.

[He is not speaking in defense of Shadow though. That guy can take care of and defend himself, he doesn't need someone like Azul going to bat for him, even if he is a previous client of Azul's.]

Did you take any pictures or video by chance? Or held on to anything from this confrontation as proof that he and this creature attacked you?

Believe what you want, but when he randomly appears behind ya with a sparky lance-like weapon pulled out of who knows where or that freaky claw hand to stab through your chest and you fall over and DIE to become his next monster's feed. Don't say I didn't warn you!!

[ there's some shuffling as the camera changes hands, and then it's pointed at a blue fennec fox fiddling with the straps of his pack. when he turns around though, he might as well not be wearing the thing—as complex as it may look, there are three slashes through the front that look like claw marks, the glass in the center being cracked. ]

Surge is telling the truth... I-it's going to take a while to fix.

[Oh! Azul studies the pack as best as he can in the video footage, frowning. Unfortunately, Azul is not the best person to go to when it comes to fixing anything involving tech, his skills are more based in arcane magic and alchemy instead.]

I see. Thank you for showing me... unfortunately, I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to repairing broken tech, but if there is something that I can do to help you both, please let me know.

[... And then, something occurs to him as he thinks over what was said thus far.]

Ah, Surge-san, you mentioned something a few seconds ago about a "sparkly lance like weapon"? Do you think you could draw me a picture perhaps of what it looked like?

[He's never seen Shadow carry a weapon before, so he can't help but be curious.]

[ there's some shuffling in the background. they put the phone down now, so it's just staring face down on the floor, totally dark. azul might be able to hear some mumbling behind it. ]

Yeah, like that. Um...

...W-what about the rings?

I think it was... yellow?

[ surge disappears from the screen as she starts to draw what it was that she saw. ]

Uh, yeah! Those rings... four of them... uhhh....

[ it takes a little while until she's up with a really big smile, proud of herself with one fist hitting her chest in triumph. ]

"Amazing" is certainly a word for it, I'll give you that.

Hell no, he used that weird claw maneuver to rip Drippy's pack, and went for me next. He had some other skills, but those were the only two that stood out.

I was way too fast for'em, but I dunno if he was goin' for the kill or not.

[ as for the spear, she taps her shoe against the ground thinking it over. ]

Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'? Maybe I should have let'em use these skills to see how much of a pack he punches. Great ideas always come after the fight is over.

Perhaps, though I would not necessarily encourage actually letting him hit you or anyone else with something like that, since it looks like it would be rather painful.

[Not that he actually cares if Surge or anyone else gets hurt or not. At least not right now anyway, but it wouldn't be a good look to seem like he was encouraging it otherwise.]
