Right. So. Got a few questions. First: Anybody got a lead on good coffee 'round here? Best places, preferred makers or types? Haven't been this long without a cup since I was a teenager.

Second: I may be in the market for something to do. Back home I've a reputation for finding things, researching. Might be interested in helping out.

Third: Any leads on writing ink? My pen could use a refill and I have more than a few notes to go over already.

Fourth: ...nail polish? Or is that too much to hope for?

[ this is something of a distraction. yes, she loves keeping her nails painted (specifically in teal) and her eyeliner game is to die for, but a lot of what she's asking for is also a way for her to judge who reacts and how. those reactions will tell her a lot about the type of people are here and who can potentially be trusted for what, who has what kind of information, and the like.

However, if you are truly interested in research and finding things, the Paladins recently had their entire base of operations upended. They have archives that may need rescuing from the ocean waters or simply the nearby streets and looters.

[ much as she appreciates the suggestion, she knows well that there are always some who prefer word of mouth for their crises, rather than posting them on a board and hoping for bites. she'd be surprised if there weren't any of those types somewhere in this world. ]

That's certainly a good place to start. Love the water, can't say I'd be good at swmming for things these days. But I can look around the streets and rescue things from looters. Bit like at home, in a way. [ it's rough when you have a metal prosthetic leg. she's not about to risk that. ] Thanks. Appreciate the suggestions.

If the Paladins do not require the help for their headquarters and archives, the people who had called Elah home could use the aid as well. I imagine they might be missing more than just possessions and would appreciate whatever can be done for them.

[ Sherlock cannot imagine everyone staying on land and safe after Elah left. If they didn't fall to the waters, they might be trapped in damaged buildings. ]

Given recent events, they may even appreciate new faces over old ones.

True enough. I'll be sure to look into that.

Heard a little about that. At this point, I'd say whatever good we can all do will help. If they need a face they don't know over one they do, then I'll do what I can. It'll keep me busy and that's what I like.

A shame that the newer Paladins arrived as all this was happening. They've done little to contribute towards this predicament yet suffer by association all the same.

[ It's less of a problem for the new Corsairs, Sherlock thinks. They didn't lose their leviathan to a massive break in trust nor are heavily under investigation for possible involvement with the crystallization trafficking.

But for the Paladins, it's more of an issue. ]

Certainly hasn't been the best introduction to a new place I've ever experienced.

Any other helpful insight or shall I return to asking if you've tried the coffee from that cafe and was it good, in your opinion?

Keep your eyes open, and should anyone have a number of crystals but no profession involving them, report them to the ATNAM investigation.

Coffea Coral was a cafe on Elah and had a really nice Cafe con Miel whenever I had business there. I do not know what state it is in now. As for Surasthana Cafe, I regularly drink coffee there, and upon request, you can even get a pot of coffee.

ATNAM. Does that stand for something?

[ that part's just idle curiosity, the part of her that has to know everything possible. but she notes the pieces not specifically stated and files it all away. from what she can tell, finding anyone responsible or who is still profiting from the violence and murder should be a priority. ]

There are a lot of unknowns regarding locations that were on Elah. [ this isn't a knock at anyone, more an observation. there's a lot that happened lately and no one has proper answers about some of those effects. ] A whole pot all to yourself? Now I know where I'll be spending time with my notes. Thanks for the tips.

Names tell you a lot about a place and its people.

That place will see a lot of me. Friend of mine used to make pots of coffee for whoever ended up in the kitchen over the course of the day and night. It'll be nice to have that here, during the day at least.

Perhaps if enough people request it, the pot of coffee will join the menu properly.

[ Is it really that different from a pot of tea? Maybe it's to try and regulate those too dependent on it. ]
