Okaaaaay! I know what you are all here for today, a bounty? A chance to beat someone's face in!? I want that too, but I'm bringing somethin' else to the table.
[ the camera shuffles, surge can be seen relaxing on someone's bed with her legs crossed, and what seems to be a small book in hand. the background suggests she's in a very tidy room which doesn't match her personality, however... in the corner of the video, a busted down door can be seen with the hinges broken off, and then the camera's readjusted to show only surge and that mischievous smile of hers. ]
So Chick had me thinkin' you know, everyone got a lil creative side, so I thought maybe revealing these techniques would lighten everything up.
[ leaning up, surge flips through the book in hand searching for something and... ]
Aha! So I'll start with someone I know who does this almost every day. Ahem! Here we have one that happens to the best of us. I feel as if this one needs a beat... DRIPPY, HAND ME THAT GUITAR....
[ with the guitar in hand, and the questionable pick is when surge begins to strum at the strings to find a beat. she's a little taken aback on how this works because this is different from what she's seen, but her beat is off-rhythm and she gives a little screamo action on this poetic piece of literature she memorized as another piece of art slides on screen. ]
[ that one speaks for itself as surge finishes up her "technique" on the guitar, one of the strings snapping, and she throws it on the floor afterwards. with that done, surge flips to another page, squinting to look over at her camerafox picture he wants to use then down at the writing.
MY WALLET IS SO EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I COULD USE A PENNYYYYYYYY OR TWENTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
THE STAAAAAAAAAAAATEEEEEEEEE OF MY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNKKKKKKK SO UNKEMPTLYYYYYYYYYYYY
DOO DOO DOOOOOOOOOOOOO, DEE DEEEEEEEEEEEEE DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
once found, the picture takes the entire view. ]
[ as they prepare for the next one, surge is shuffling through pages unable to find what she wants... ] This next one gunna take a minute, Drippy do a commercial break or somethin' I need to find this one.
Bees buzzing so loud
Crocodiles full of sound
It's snowing on Mt. Fuji
--COMMERCIAL BREAK STARTS--
[ kit and surge each leave from one side of the camera, going offscreen until...
a piece of paper is lifted in front of the camera, and slowly moved from one side to the other. behind it, some might recognize that they're hearing kitsunami's voice. ]

Do do do do doo, do do d-do do... Doo... Do not buy Build-A-Bot!
[ after this important message, the picture slides off camera, and now surge is somewhere else inside of the room, and there's a little quaint desk for calligraphy by her side. surge stands with sharktooth grin as another image comes from above, covering the camera. again, surge's voice can be heard as she reads off another hit. ] For the finale of Peaches' Hikes, we'll end it off on one that makes a lotta sense to me.
[ here comes the last image from below, covering the shellphone screen, and revealing... a masterpiece as surge reads off that little book she has. ]
Seashells on the sea shore
There is a very loud snore
Ignoring it is a chore
Would like to stop being poor
Waiting around is a bore
Well, there ya have it! All sorts of creative Hikes in this little book, now if anyone has any critiques or things they'd like to say. Love, love, looooooooooooooooooove to hear'em.
[ she throws the book onto the ground as she's done with it. ] Anyway, everyone say thank you to Della Duck for bringing us together as a community to showcase our talents. Remember to like and subscribe.
[ one last piece of paper comes on the screen. ]

[ then the video cuts off. ]

[Is this kid okay? It doesn't seem like it.]
I'm not from somewhere with this kind of technology. Kind of a surprise to see it pop up, and I'm trying to follow.
[Maybe that will be more reassuring??]
no subject
[ it's honestly hard for him to say when he doesn't have any real memories prior to starline's lab. ]
I-I don't really know.
no subject
[He inclines his head. He'd offer a hand but this is video.]
Davrin.
no subject
Kitsunami...
[ and this is where he thinks he's supposed to say something. um. erm. uh. ]
... Did you like it?
[ surge's show? ]
no subject
It was like nothing I've ever seen before. You guys must've worked hard on it -
[SQUAWK.]
[SIGH. The camera is angled down to show off the chatterbox made of feathers, about the size of a big wildcat.]
- And this is Assan. He says hello.
no subject
still, he's doing his best to be attentive, especially when the other changes the angle of his camera to show off some kind of... bird? the source of the squawking, suffice to say. ]
H-hello, Assan... Um... We did work hard on it...
no subject
Anyways, yeah. I can tell you did. It shows.
Which parts are yours?
no subject
[ kit also likes to feel included when surge is doing things, so he guesses he doesn't mind. ]
I did the pictures... Um, Espio did the poems...
no subject
[All right, now he's genuinely impressed. Drawing the monsters he hunts is part of his own personal project.]
You've got some talent there.
no subject
Thank you...
[ he thinks? it's hard to say, he'd never really considered drawing to be a talent of his—but at the same time, it's kind of a surprise because it isn't necessarily a talent that starline had instilled in him. it feels like... it's almost praise to kitsunami himself, and that... that is kind of scary, when he thinks about it. ]
I-I just drew what the poems wrote, so...
[ not that impressive. ]
no subject
[It's really not. Not in his opinion, or experience.] I can draw from what I see all right, but, have to have it in front of me. Like Assan, for example. But, if you handed me a poem and said, "draw that"?
No way.
[Carving is different, but they're not talking about that. Frankly, this kid could stand to hear praise a little more, if you asked him. And... when did he start getting feelings about these kinds of things?]
no subject
I-I'll tell Surge you liked it... Maybe we'll do another one.
no subject
[Here's that WINNING WARDEN GRIN.]
In a good way.
no subject
kit's thoughtful on that for a moment, but then he nods. ]
Okay.
[ davrin'd better show up to the next stream too, in that case! ]
no subject
And I'll keep an eye out for your stuff. Sound good?
(no subject)
(no subject)
video;
[ sorry not sorry, she heard something make a sound and had to come and see. where kit was afraid, surge is totally locked in and ready to go. ]
no subject
He's from my world - he kind of adopted me. And, luckily enough, we showed up here at the same time.
[At his name, the griffon baby shoves his head back into frame. Like one of those goofy cat pictures where they smash their nose into the lens.]
no subject
Really!? That small thing adopted you!?
[ she's almost surprised to hear that's how it works, she even reaches out with her hand to touch at the screen like petting their head. ]
Take care of 'em, this world pretty massive and I don't want him gettin' lost.
[ the griffon looks soooo cool! ] You hear that Assan, don't you go places without someone with ya. [ not everyone is as new as you are, surge. ]
no subject
He doesn't feel small when he jumps on you in the middle of the night.
[Then again, nothing really does. A cat could jump on you and it'd feel like a full-grown tiger at 3am.]
Don't worry - he's not going anywhere without me, or a friend of ours. [Harding, or Neve.] But hey, if he does wander, he can always fly up for a better view.
[She addresses him, and Assan makes a trilling, chattering noise, excitedly tapping his front feet on the ground. Like a little tapdance.]
no subject
Can fly too, what an interestin' lil critter!
[ she's learning a lot, some people look at them a little weird for being walking, talking animals. however, this guy seems to take it pretty well. ]
You can tell'em if he wanders, and sees me, I'll help out. It's what heroes do.
[ getting her name out there. ]
no subject
Yeah. He's all kinds of special.
[Says his ""guardian"" (read: dad). But honestly, after all the weirdness they've run into, animal-people aren't that high on the list. Easy enough to roll with.]
You hear that, boy? You've got a hero looking out for you. [Said griffon puffs his feathers, somehow managing to make one of those doggy-style grins, despite having a beak.] Pretty sure that means he appreciates it.
no subject
[ not because he has a cute griffin by his side, this is just how a hero is, you know... extending the olive branch of kindness, surge is learning. ]
I'm a Paladin, so it's up my alley to handle whatever problems you have. Even if it's just walkin' your cool pal.
[ she's so used to seeing animal people that seeing one like this is actually new to her, look at it walk on all fours... how crazy. ]
no subject
[How did he go from Lone Wolf Warden to checking up on kids like this? Maybe they're not kids, how could he know? But they seem young. Point is - ]
I don't think he'd say no more walks. Would you, Assan?
[From the excited eagle-sounding chatter, the griffon is definitely interested. And vocal about it.]
no subject
[ she's new but she's heard about the whole issue surrounding it and from her own experience, it's unavoidable.
the tenrec hums to herself, thinking this over before shrugging. ]
My whole life is a pain so it doesn't bother me too much. Don't tell me you can't stand it y'self!
[ it's almost like she's teasing him, but then again, maybe the issue lies with... no, it couldn't be... ] Did Assan get branded?
no subject
[His expression shifts a bit. There's concern there, even if he doesn't voice it. My whole life is a pain - yikes. That's probably not good.]
Me? I'm good. Just don't like how it hurts a couple people I know. If it's only affecting me, I can handle it.
[But not if it puts his friends in danger, or pains them.] Nah. He got off easy. And so did the people branding us.
[Because if someone put a brand on Assan, there would have been hell to pay.]
