I know a few places no one would even bat an eye at you.
Which would mean more if we could actually take you out there someday.

You'd really rat me out? I'm wounded.
thearchangel: (trust me okay?)

Fair enough.

Hm... if it's pretending... then...
The Wards - on the Citadel - for starters. Picture a city hundreds of times the size of one of these Leviathans. But it's floating in space. Every species from every race is there. The Presidium is where the rich and the political types stay, but the Wards?

No one would blink at you there.
thearchangel: (Here's what we do.)

They're bigger. Bigger than these Leviathans put together. Buildings tend to get built up, instead of out. So you've got apartments and offices all in one big building. Easy to get lost if you don't know where you're going. You can pretty much buy anything legal.

[Or illegal, in the lowest of the Wards...]

Oh yeah. Technically I was supposed to be preventing the trouble, but... you know how it is.

Not... really?

There's public gardens in a few places in the Wards. Planters and things here and there. Most of it's on the Presidium, though. Where the politicians and wealthy people are.
thearchangel: (have you heard my liara impression?)

I got used to it. Wasn't much of a choice. The Citadel was where the work was.

Where I grew up, though... it was more tropical. More like here. But I've always been more comfortable in cities, personally.
thearchangel: (ur a wise guy huh?)

Guilty.

[He doesn't answer for a bit. Cipertine - it was a smoldering ruin by now. Just a big smear of orange on the planet. Almost hard to remember it being anything else.]

Warm and tropical. Near the ocean, even if we don't swim, I waded around a lot as a kid. It was always warm, too. Never even saw snow until I went off-planet. You'd... probably have liked the plant life there.

Not to have it?
There's no weather where you're from?

No, I don't. I can't - none of my people can. We just sink.
thearchangel: (hello i have a thing to say)

[personal profile] thearchangel 2025-06-25 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't know what to say to that. Just reading it over, over again. He can't picture it, really - aside from the few volcanic worlds they've been on. But nothing could live there.]

[It's...]

Damn

That's. Damn. I keep trying to think of a better word for it than that, and coming up empty. You're a hell of a person to get through something like that.

And now I really want to show you Palaven. Like it was when I was growing up.
