Couple things I've been wondering about, lately. Figured now that the brand crap has settled down a bit, it's as good a time as any to ask.
- Any word on where the Paladin Leviathan went? Lost track of that discussion with all the under water adventures.
- Has anyone heard anything about any Riftfarers ever getting promoted in their respective Armadas? We know they have superiors, a council each - Paladins especially have a military type structure, from what I've seen. But has anyone ever been an officer? Or whatever passes for it in the Corsairs?
[It just seems weird, okay.]
- And ah, less seriously
[He almost starts typing "Looking for experience with getting a house" but deletes it. That's too forward, probably.]
Pet fish. Suggestions welcome. The hardier the species the better.
[NAILED IT.]

Sometimes you can do everything right, with the right motivation, and still not really be trusted. Were you going to try to rise in the ranks then?
I'm not entirely certain if 'scared' is the right word from what I felt.
no subject
But, me? No. I've got place enough on the ship that hired me. Just something I've noticed the longer I've been here.
Drove off. Either way, it's gone.
no subject
Ah, so just a question born from curiosity.
Can't say I entirely blame it.
no subject
[Or like him. And the majority of the galaxy.]
Yeah, just curiosity. Never was good at just leaving things lie, too.
No. Suppose I can't, either.
no subject
There's nothing wrong with that. People should be asking questions, particularly in a place like this. And it seems to have given a lot of people things to think about.
--> video;
[So he clicks on the video.]
Any turians, by chance?
I agree. It's still rubbing me wrong - that none of us seem to be anywhere near "important" in their ranks. Could mean nothing, but. I don't like it, all the same.
no subject
[ So could there be? Maybe. ]
Have you ever heard of a race called the Brood? Or Timebreakers?
[ Now she's just curious. ]
I don't like it either, so you're not alone there. It never feels great to be expected to help a place and yet have it in the back of your mind that you're not really trusted. That you'll always be seen as something of an outsider.
no subject
Believe me, if we were there, you'd probably know. My people are not subtle.
[And there'd been a war and all...] But, no. Maybe a gang or two with those names, but. No species.
You took the words out of my mouth. I've done a stint on a ship like that, but - nothing long term like this.
no subject
[ why is the multiverse so weird and complicated? ]
For the best really, both of them are not subtle either. Particularly the Brood.
I'm sorry you've been in that position before. How long have you been here?
no subject
[There had been three but... not anymore.]
With a name like that, I wish I could say I was surprised. They sound about as subtle as a brick.
Here? A while now. Maybe a year. Time keeping is different, a little harder to track.
no subject
Their name is very accurate too. In my universe I believe they were said to have been the first galactic predator species. Not all of them are terrible though, we have one going to our school.
Mm, I've been to a few worlds where time's harder to trace. A year seems like quite a long time to be here.
no subject
[It would definitely suck if they didn't get along, in this case.]
Lovely. [The name reminds him of the rachni, honestly.] But, really, that seems like it's a universal constant. Exceptions to every rule and all.
It has been. It's gone better lately, though.
no subject
I've traveled to a lot of different universes and there are definitely some constants that just seem to exist throughout all of them. [ it's kind of a weird thing about it all. ]
That's good that it's gotten better at least. Here's to further improvements.
no subject
[None whatsoever. He's aware of it every day.]
You've been to places like this before? Or some other kind of 'different universe'?
If I had a drink, I'd raise it.
no subject
Ah, both? I've been to nexus dimensions before where people from different universes all end up and I've been to just entirely different universes before. I'd hate to bore you with the technicalities of it all though. Unless you want to be bored.
no subject
Were any of them like this?
no subject
In some ways? The Crystal Palace was a nexus where people were brought in from a variety of universes to fix damage that had been done throughout the Multiverse. We were tasked with cleaning up mistakes made in other universes. Which, it seems has happened here at times? People being asked to help fix problems in this world.
We were also stuck there until the powers that be decided to send us back to our homeworlds. Which was utterly random.
Otherworld is very different, but in appearance it does have some similarities to this place.
no subject
But that sounds... there was no warning? They'd just randomly yank you in and out?
no subject
No warning at all. They simply plucked us up and left us to figure out where we were, what was going on, and what was expected of us. Made for a messy situation due to...duplicates.
no subject
Duplicates?
no subject
Ah, yes. The multiverse where I'm from is made up of alternate versions of the same universe. Meaning you encounter different versions of people you knew. I've run into a few evil versions of my twin for instance.
no subject
[Especially when you have to clean up other peoples' mistakes to save the galaxy.]
That... sounds really confusing, to be honest with you. I thought having a sister was bad, but an "evil" version of her?
