Hello again, Stolas here. I have a, hopefully, quick magical inquiry.

This goes out to any and all magical users, or those possibly without before coming here. It has been on my mind for a while about those... special tattoos? Let's say for example you had magical powers but they were stripped from you prior to arriving here. Would getting one of these unique markings help regain them or simply give you new ones?

I would be very curious to know how they have affected others with their own abilities. What has been everyone's personal experience with them?

I was born with magical power that was locked away when I arrived here. One of those tattoos unlocked my magic. Haven't tried all of my spells yet, but the ones I have tried work as they should. I've heard of them giving people new abilities, unlike ones they had naturally from home, but I've yet to try another one myself.

So far nothing's blown up in my face, so I'll take that win.

I was born with magic as well, though I had to awaken it through magical study from a young age. The crux of the problem is that that.... potential was taken from me prior to arriving here.

So you're wondering if you could perhaps reawaken those abilities with a tattoo? Could be worth trying. If it was yours at one point, I would think it could be again.

Something like that, yes. However I fear that there is nothing to 'reawake'. I meant quite literally my magic was striped from me. It's hard to explain but I can feel the space where it was and it feel empty.

[ she'd sort of figured it was locked away, but having it stripped fully? to someone whose magic is a large part of her identity, the idea hurts. a lot like a lost limb and she knows well what that's like. ]

Then I suppose it's a question of whether you want to see if it's possible to get back what was lost or if you can find something close to it by the laws of magic here. Might be able to explain what it was well enough that it could be feasible, but... it's also a risk. Not sure if it could backfire.

Now you see why I have been putting it off. When I first got here, I.... wasn't in the best of places. If I were to get a tattoo and my powers were gone? I don't know how well that would have gone over.

But now... my curiosity is winning over my fears.

Suppose you could start by trying to find a magic similar here, if you wanted to start small. Ask the person running the shop what options you've got.

I understand that hesitation. Bad enough for me to arrive without access to magic I was born with.
