Aight, so me and Checkers are trying to make a skate park over at Hero's Rest and we gonna need some help.

[Beat moves aside to show off the State of the Skate Park. It is obvious that it needs quite a bit of Help. He stands in what looks to be the middle of a repurposed amphitheater. The only things that have been set up is a ramp and a grind rail from the stairs that are already part of the original architecture.]

It ain't much right now, but we got a lotta plans.

[Setting aside the shellphone, he rummages through his sketchbook, eventually flipping to a page with said plans. He holds it up to reveal a very rough drawing of his and Roxas' dream skate park for all to see.]

We thinkin' 'bout puttin' up a half-pipe somewhere 'round here— [He starts moving around, pointing out to a space each time. Boy, does he look excited about it, grinning from ear to ear. Very much like a kid in a candy store.] —coupla pyramids somewhere in the middle, an' a buncha rails and ramps all 'round. Yo, Checkers! Am I missin' anythin'?

[Roxas can be seen in the background, cleaning up part of the amphitheater that they hadn't gotten to. He turns to Beat.]

Maybe a bowl somewhere?

Nah, you's right. Gotta add that to the plan. [Then Beat turns back to the shellphone.] That too. Anyways, it's gonna be a lotta work, so if can help us out, we gonna owe you big time, yo! Jus' name your price!

[ooc: Beat is red and Roxas is blue. Either one of them or both will be answering replies!]

[What is a skate park. Why are you putting half a pipe somewhere? And a bowl? It's not a kitchen.]

[Beat points over to Roxas again.]

I'm talkin' 'bout him, yo. Tha's Checkers.

[It just makes sense to Beat with Roxas' motif and all.]

Lemme guess. You ain't ever heard of skateboardin' 'fore?

Really, now.

[Uh oh. That's funny. Oh no that's funny. Sorry, Roxas.]

Never heard of it, no. Don't think it exists in our world.

[stillarhino]

[He's heard that enough times that it's not weird to hear anymore.]

It's a both a' our hobby. You get on a skateboard an' move 'round this thing doin' tricks. Like this thing—

[He goes over to the banister beside the stairs.]

We can go down these, tryin' to balance on our board.

You ride the board with wheels on banisters?

[This is... a weird hobby.]

So where do bowls and pipes come in?

They's for that too! Ain't gonna be fun if al we doin' the same trick on a rail, yo!

[He hums, giving it a bit more thought. Then it comes to him.]

How's 'bout I give ya a demo?

[weisshappened]

[He's following, he's following. But some of these words - what is this dialect.]

A... demo? Demonstration?

[stillarhino]

Yeah. Can still do a couple with what we got so far.

[He's already getting his board. Looks like you don't really have much of a choice.]

[weisshappened]

[That's fine, he's curious, anyway. You crazy kids...]

All right. I'm interested.

[stillarhino]

Aight, gimme a sec.

[He finds a place to set up the shellphone, somewhere at the bottom of the steps before running back up, skateboard tucked under his arm.

Once on top, he gains some speed before jumping onto the handrail, balancing on the skateboard, arms perpendicular to his body as he glides down the pipe. Beat isn't in it for very long, but he makes it through the length of the stairs, landing with a thunk on the ground. He moves forward a few more feet before hopping off the skateboard and moving to retrieve the shellphone.

When he comes back into view, a cocky grin is plastered on his face.]

Jus' like that!

[weisshappened]

[Oh... that's crazy. That's a little board with wheels and look what it does. Crazy, but also impressive.]

[Rook would have been all over that.]

All right. I'm impressed. And both of you can do all that?

[stillarhino]

[Did his grin grow even wider? Yes, it did.]

Checkers prob'ly got his own trick. Two a' us ain't gotten 'round to showin' off to one another.

[They should probably do that soon.]

I'll ask him.

[And he will, too! But then he adds:]

Can't say I know anything about what you two can do, but I do know woodworking. If that can help, happy to lend a hand.

[You two seem like good kids!!]

It's a skatepark! For skateboarding. Eventually.

[Obviously there is still a lot of work to be done.]

You're going to have to walk it back a bit. "Skate boarding"?

[He holds up his board, so that the bottom of the deck where the wheels are attached is showing. There isn't really a cool design on this one. Yet. It's still kind of new.]

Yeah! This is a skateboard.

You can ride it and do tricks and stuff.

Huh.

[A board with wheels. What will they think of next.]

What kind of tricks?

Well, uh, stuff like jumps, flips, grinds, stuff like that.

[What is a grind--]

A flip? You're joking.

Nope!

I mean, I would need a better ramp than what we have now to actually do one, but I can do 'em.

[He probably could try to flip off their current ramp but it probably wouldn't go well.]

I'm pretty good.

If you need a ramp...

I've always got wood laying around where I'm staying.

[Look, your skateboarding is weird and unusual but he can build the hell out of furniture, or carve some intricate statues. Building ramps shouldn't be too hard.]

You do? Like planks and stuff?

[Because they do always need wood and stuff like that.]

Planks... I can check. Mostly blocks of wood, but, those can always get cut to size.

[It's harder to carve planks, see.]

That would be good. Can't really ramp off a block of wood.
