Aight, so me and Checkers are trying to make a skate park over at Hero's Rest and we gonna need some help.

[Beat moves aside to show off the State of the Skate Park. It is obvious that it needs quite a bit of Help. He stands in what looks to be the middle of a repurposed amphitheater. The only things that have been set up is a ramp and a grind rail from the stairs that are already part of the original architecture.]

It ain't much right now, but we got a lotta plans.

[Setting aside the shellphone, he rummages through his sketchbook, eventually flipping to a page with said plans. He holds it up to reveal a very rough drawing of his and Roxas' dream skate park for all to see.]

We thinkin' 'bout puttin' up a half-pipe somewhere 'round here— [He starts moving around, pointing out to a space each time. Boy, does he look excited about it, grinning from ear to ear. Very much like a kid in a candy store.] —coupla pyramids somewhere in the middle, an' a buncha rails and ramps all 'round. Yo, Checkers! Am I missin' anythin'?

[Roxas can be seen in the background, cleaning up part of the amphitheater that they hadn't gotten to. He turns to Beat.]

Maybe a bowl somewhere?

Nah, you's right. Gotta add that to the plan. [Then Beat turns back to the shellphone.] That too. Anyways, it's gonna be a lotta work, so if can help us out, we gonna owe you big time, yo! Jus' name your price!

[ooc: Beat is red and Roxas is blue. Either one of them or both will be answering replies!]

[Well that's uh. ...Curious...

He's certain a particular architect will have his hands all over this, but he can't help but wonder. That and he recognizes Roxas, so might as well say hi.]

Well that's quite an interesting place. Is a skate park like some sort of playground?

Roxas has to think for a moment, considering.]

I...guess kinda? But the point isn't to climb on anything, it's to skateboard and do tricks and stuff!

And what exactly is this "skateboard"?

It's this!

[Roxas holds up his board. Simple design, a deck on wheels.]

So, you balance on it and kick off to get speed and go places and do tricks and stuff like that!

[ramuhs]

[Cid leans in a little closer to the screen to get a closer.]

So... Is it like those other sports with boards? Snowboarding and surfing? Just these have wheels instead.

[seasaltkeys]

Yeah, kinda. It's still a lot about the balance.

And you're like, not trapped going downhill on a skateboard. There's more manoeuvrability.

I like it better than snowboarding.

[ramuhs]

Suppose I'd have to see this for myself to understand more fully, but I think I have the basic idea.

And so you boys are trying to create a place so that you can...skateboard around? With all these ramps and...rails?

[He had to look at the video again to get a good look.]

Feel free to come visit, if you want.

[Roxas will vouch for him.]

But yeah, that's the plan. With the ramps and everything, we'll be able to do tricks and stuff like that.

Well if you need help in the construction I would gladly. And speaking of which, have you received any offers?

We'd appreciate it, definitely!

I think a few people have also offered, so we'll probably have to work out a good time for everyone!

There are certainly a number of people who would be good at this.

[Like a sparkly architect who's already jumped on this—]

But I'd still be happy to visit, see what you boys have been up to.

I don't really know where to go from here.

Looked like your friend—Beat, is it?—has some interesting ideas.

Are you two the only ones who skateboard or do you other friends as well?

[seasaltkeys]

Yeah, Beat.

I think it's just us right now, but if anyone else wanted to try and learn, I'd show them how.

[ramuhs]

If this takes off, then you quite possibly might catch the interest of others. Perhaps I'll even give it a try.

Guess you can call it that.

[He looks around the amphitheater. He gets why someone older might think that.]

Ain't for anyone who ain't plannin' to skate though. Can't have anyone gettin' hit 'cause they's jus' standin' 'round.

So a place dedicated for that particular...sport? [If what he heard from Roxas is correct.]

Makes sense. But with that in mind, do you have an area for those who just want to watch can be?

Ain't 'sactly got one planned, but 'sides up top, guess we can make a part a' this seats if we got people watchin'.

[Considering what the original architecture, it would be easy to repurpose the seating with some sprucing up.]

Given the location, I think it's quite doable.

[Cid nods in agreement.]

Even if it's a private venture, it would be good place for your friends, or other participants who just want to take a break and watch each other.

What about weather?

Tha's 'sactly what we talkin' 'bout, yo. Gettin' somethin' like this nearby is like a freakin' dream, you know?

An' if it gets others interested in stakin', I'm down to teach anyone who wants to give it a shot.

[He flips the camera up towards the sky to show that it's open-air all around. A lot of the island had mostly been ruins originally, which would explain how the skate park originally looks as well.]

It's wide open, yo.

[A wry grin.]

I mean how is the weather there generally and what would you do if it rains? Would rather have an option to be able to use the park even if it rains? A dome or roof of sorts perhaps?

You'd also want whatever structures or other equipment you use to be able to withstand the elements, so can't just build it with any type of material.

[stillarhino]

We get some rains an' stuff but I'mma have to ask Checkers what he thinks 'bout a roof. I'm aight with keepin' it open. If we wanted to have a roof, we woulda jus' made an indoor park, you know?

[Beat then hums thoughtfully.]

But now that you mention it, we probably gotta have somethin' to help with if rains... so it don't go poolin' water where we don't want it.

Aye, especially since it looks like you might have a pit of some sort? With the ramps?

[Hmmmm.]

If you don't want it completely covered, something that could appear and disappear could work, like a bubble dome. Would be the simplest solution without trying to build anything more mechanical, especially at that size.

You could also consider some sort of draining system in case water does get in there. As long as everything is slopping towards a certain spot, you can install a drain that the water will flow into, and have a smooth, perhaps retractable cover so that it won't hinder your skateboarding.

Wait, hold up. A dome that can just show up when you need it? Now that sounds tight, yo!

[He should probably be writing this alo down. But you can bet that he's blown away from the dome suggestion alone.]

You know anyone who can make somethin' like that?

Quite a few, myself included. They're not too difficult as variants already exist, if perhaps on a smaller scale.
