I'm not sure that anyone's come forward with this yet, but there's a way that we can help the people that have been all inky this last moon. You know those purifiers some of us have been making for the miasma?

[ Khalid moves the camera around. Okay, don't be alarmed, he kind of corralled a bunch of Phantoms into an abandoned barn. With Sylvain's help - thanks Gautier. So the camera is panning around to those lanterns with the filters inside and it seems like it is helping out with the inky Phantom-ness. ]

It's a bit of a process, but it does seem to be working, as long as the person affected isn't too far gone. Moth dust is a lot more helpful than the crushed stones and pearls, for the record.

It's not like I was going to keep this to myself, so if anyone's looking to help these people out? Well, there you go.

Hmm... So there is a use to the creatures after all. I suppose I can attract them again.

I actually have a pretty hard time attracting them. Maybe they just don't like me?

That's a pretty extreme way to attract anything though, isn't it?

I have an affinity for the Underworld. I know not what word you have for it. I can draw power from the realm of souls.

Afterlife. Underworld. Same concept different words, right?

It's also just a little creepy.

Is it? Death is a natural consequence of life. The souls of the dead are no more or less dangerous than the living.

Oh no. That's not what I mean.

It's the whole "drawing power from the dead" thing. Kind of creepy. Maybe even disrespectful to some?

Ah, you misunderstand. The Underworld is where the souls of those who have passed await their rebirth on our star. 'Tis the single greatest well of aether one may find anywhere. When I reach into that font, why, there is almost nothing I feel I cannot do.

But just because they are dormant there does not mean they are without will. Those at peace are far more willing to lend their strength to me than those who have led a hard life. When I'm done, they return to the Underworld and continue their journeys.

Then pray tell: why do you consider it disrespectful?

For the ones that are at peace, that's one thing. But what about the ones who aren't? Are you just going to force it out of them either way?

The restless ones are always seeking a way back into the material realm. In that sense, they're grateful for the outlet I provide. Of course, I cannot simply let them run wild doing as they please... But as their conduit, I can help them find their peace before releasing them.

And if they happen to carry so much malice that even I cannot pacify them...then I leave them be.
