They don't actually want to be teaching people a bunch of stuff--if there were another source for lessons they'd be sending people there instead--and if they have to deal with the sort of people they usually assume are paranoid enough to pay for classes--corporate spies, politicians, people who are supremely wigged out by telepaths and see their existence as an affront to personal privacy--they want the pay to be worth it.)

It's free if it's someone I'm around enough to care about avoiding their thoughts. I'm only charging for people I don't have to care about.
