[There was a loud purring, Dapplewhisker's face and the pokémon inspired catnip toy she had in her mouth. Turo moved the phone back to show that the large cat was draped over his shoulders; with of course Mariposa -with a few of her pups that were still with them- running around, following in behind Dojima there in the background as the man was gathering a few last small items into a box.

The room was... empty, walls bare.]

Ah, I just wanted to make a quick little announcement for those of you familiar with the apartment where Dojima and I have been living—we will no longer be found here.

We are actually moving, as you can probably see and guess, to a house. It will be closer to Cosmo Conservatory for ease of travel, given how much time is spent there between us as is. A much bigger space as well, which will be nice.

Be careful, the last mad scientist I knew ended up mixing lab and home life so much he was eating reheated experimental food crimes out of his lab freezer.

Not knowing how or making the effort to learn how to cook, I imagine. I have been learning to here, personally.

(The hilarity here is Chris also can't cook and eats like utter garbage and Turo almost certainly knows this. But they also aren't trying to cover their shitty pizza in vaguely cheese flavored plastic.

...They're probably just offended that, as someone who relies on buying or bumming food from other people they had to eat the pizza. Your friend is a brat and a hypocrite, Turo.)

There are, and quite often I go to one of the restaurants Dojima and I enjoy to pick up dinner.

It is this that had one of the people at a place we frequent offer to teach me by pulling me back into the kitchens.

How's that going?

(The last time they tried anything more complex than egg toast [by which player means putting egg on top of bread in toaster oven] they set Ortega's kitchen on fire.)

I can successfully make gyoza, and soup dumplings. My bocadillos assembly skills have also gotten much better.

That sounds awesome. (Way better than anything they can do, but they're pretty sure anyone can manage that.) What's Gyoza again?

(They're not sure they recognize Bocadillos either, though it sounds like something they should know.)

A stuffed dumpling that tends to have a thinner wrapping of dough, and one side a little crisp from cooking on a pan while the rest of it is steamed. The filling be a mix of things, but Dojima tends to enjoy the meatier type; they are a favorite of his from home.

With how often I was ordering take out of them the owners of the establishment offered to teach me, after we spoke for a while and learned why I came by so often. I have grown very fond of gyoza as well, of course.

That sounds pretty amazing.

A friend (They aren't sure how else to refer to Ortega. Ex? We're they even really dating? It wasn't really real, what they had between them. Would she even call them a friend, after everything? If she could see them now?) tried to teach me to cook once. I set her kitchen on fire.

I can see why they're Dojima's favorite food, and I have been going enough that Head Chef and owner Bol has said I get the family discount. He has been very kind when it comes to helping me learn as well.

[Giant and strong bullman, and he had been the one to haul Turo into the kitchens. The man's husband was nice as well, along with those others taken in as parts of their family.

The old man panda folk that was taken as Bol's grandfather even knew how to make desserts Dojima could appreciate.]

Quite the feat, it sounds like.

Yeah ...after that I had to chop vegetables while she cooked. (They aren't completely useless! Just ...selectively useful.)
