reindered: (I will)

Holidays/ Celebrations? Maybe a little backdated??

Type: Video
Sender ID: @ reindered (Tony Tony Chopper)
To: Public/Everyone
Subject: Holidays! Tell him about them! (and excuses to devour more candy!)
Warnings: Not that I can think of??

[Chopper looks rather happy, sitting wearing his ghost costume with a small pile of candy surrounding him. Evidently, everyone seemed to think his costume adorable and gave him lots of candy. He smiles, beaming and waving a hoof at the shellphone, putting another empty wrapper in the rubbish bin next to him with the rest. He may have chocolate around his mouth. But that's clearly not the important thing here!]

Everyone! Hey! So, we've had this 'Halloween' with dressing up and stuff. What other holidays are there?

[Read as: what other excuses are there for him to get all the candy and chocolate? Clearly, the priority here! If there are more holidays like this, he wants to know.]

No celebrations? None whatsoever? That is surprising. Most sentient races acknowledge some special occasion, be it the seasons or one's day of birth.

[ Emet-Selch hasn't quite twigged that Chopper was a non-talking, non-sentient reindeer before. ]

That is fair. I suppose staying a year in every new place is out of the question when you've a shorter lifespan.

The last people I spent time with had a festival during the lone month of the year when the snow thawed and a hint of green showed in their environs.
emet_sulk: (37 fond of them are you?)

[ Pirates, eh? Always chasing after something valuable, he thinks wryly. ]

Indeed, for spring. Although anywhere else it would barely even be considered a warmer winter. The snow thaws a little, yes, but 'tis too short a time for much else to bloom aside from grass and a few wildflowers. The tundra remains frozen, the glaciers stand tall. But at least for a short time, the sun shines upon them.

Have you ever seen such a place in your travels? I imagine not since such mountains are usually far inland.

No. A lot of the heat and light from the sun is reflected off its surface. Furthermore, the overall climate of an area keeps a glacier intact. I could explain in detail but I imagine it would bore you.

[ Emet isn't exactly the foremost expert on the environment (compared to a former coworker of his) but he can still ramble. ]
emet_sulk: (89 Look at them all)

[ His lips quirk upwards. ]

Well, suffice to say that the place is dreadfully cold and full of ice. The climate itself would have to shift before the glaciers melted. Not even reindeer such as your good self can be found there, so you may not like it either.

What is your Drum Island like, by the by?
emet_sulk: (06 oh don't look at me like that)

Merry Christmas!

Hmm... I believe there is a similar isle on my star. 'Tis quite a renowned place of learning, is far enough north for snowfall during winter and otherwise remains temperate year-round.

[ He huffs in amusement. It's not like the climate is unique to any one world, that said. ]

By medicine I presume you mean natural remedies? You did mention being a doctor.
emet_sulk: (11 the faintest smile)

and a Happy New Year's eve now from future land lmao

How very admirable. I met another like you a little while ago. A man named Alfyn. His craft tended more towards alchemy but I imagine you could both learn much from one another.
