So I heard about this Dorina Gray lady who can paint your soul or something.
I'm curious: did anyone go and get painted by her? What was it like? Was she nice? Do you think she'd be able to help uncover some deep memories, or is it just a "you're a good or a bad person" kind of thing?

[So either she was not as talented as suggested, or she has purposely given him something insultingly simple. And considering what she had produced for Rem, as well as the meticulously detailed frozen tree shading his own figure... Well, he certainly could not accept that it was an accurate representation of his soul. Therefore: fraud.]

Sooooo you didn't like what she drew of you, is what you're saying.

[He doesn't have the perspective to understand or interpret her art as saying his soul and emotions were undeveloped, frozen at the level of a child only learning to navigate what he saw and felt and barely able to articulate it. All he could see was an insult purposely given.]

[She wouldn't insult him for no reason, would she?]

[Now he was being accused of being the reason for her insult? Fine. Whatever. He had been blamed for worse wrongs done to others than being mean to a blind woman. What was one more crime he didn't commit being added to his name when there were already so many others that he had committed already there?]
Forget it. You asked and this venerable one has answered. Believe this venerable one or not as you will.

Maybe you insulted her accidentally? With all the 'venerable one' stuff?
[He seems kind of like a pompous asshole, tbh.]

I don't know, then. I really am sorry she painted something so bad for you.

[
He doesn't really understand sympathy.]You have the opinion you have asked for. This venerable one will leave first.
