How does that work? In my world, we are granted Visions from the Gods and we are given elemental powers.

I think it's probably because my people have been guarding these rifts between our plane and the elemental planes for a really long time. My tribe watches the rift to the elemental plane of air. But through my journey, I learned to harness the powers of all four elements. It's knowledge passed down by the elders of the tribes and the people who see real elementals any time they cross over.

[ she has a very complicated view of the gods of her world, so she's just going to... not touch that right now. ]

It must be amazing to see the rifts between the elements. I just know that in my world, it's all separate. Each God as their own domains and if you've done something that impresses them, they will give you a part of their power.

Oh sure, until something dangerous and deadly tries to come through and you have to beat it back. That's what we do. We protect the rifts, keep people safe.

It's all about gods for you? We have gods, but they don't rule over the elemental planes. What kind of elemental magic does your world have? Or any magic. I'm not picky.

We have Anemo, Electro, Cryo, Geo, Pyro, Dendro, and Hydro. It's the powers of wind, electricity, ice, earth, fire, life, and water respectfully.

Each of the powers here are what each God have and they rule over certain lands in my world. I just happen to life in the land of water.

Oh I have lightning and ice magic, too, but those don't have actual elemental planes and I've never seen elementals made of that. Or life. That's weird. Or I guess that would be healing? I can heal. A lot, actually. But it's, again, not an elemental plane.

I wonder what an elemental plane of life would be like? Really healthy? Do you get healed all the time?

[ now she's actually thinking about it! ]

But if your home is in the land of water, it makes sense that you like oceans! My tribe is the Air Ashari, so I really like to fly.

Well, not really. Only those with Dendro vision can really heal.

But it must be nice. What is it like flying?

Oh. I guess that makes sense.

Freeing, I guess? We have these skygliders at home that we use to soar around the air currents. Helps that most of us have some kind of wind magic, too. So I guess I've grown up on it. But then I learned the change my shape, so I can fly as a bird, too. It's really, really fun.

[ there's a small pause here before she adds on: ]

I also have a spell that lets me transform other people into animals, too. So if you wanted to fly sometime, I could turn you into a bird, too.

....Wouldn't that be scary? Wouldn't turning me into a bird require me to change my bone structure and make me lose my ability to talk?

Oh.. Yeah, I can't make it so anyone can talk while polymorphed. I can't even talk in animal forms. But there's all sorts of things we can work out beforehand like signs you want to turn back or if you don't like being an animal. And it's not permanent. I don't have the magic to make a transformation permanent.

...I'm not sure how to feel about it. It's still blowing my mind that people can turn into animals despite meeting so many people who can do that.

Oh, yeah. You're not the only one who's been surprised about it. If you want, I could wild shape in front of you. Show you how it looks.

And if you want to try it, you can, but if it bothers you, I won't ever do anything like it around you if I can help it.

I have seen people shape shifting in front of me before. It's just...it never happened to me.
