When the shellphone post revs up, it's someone mid conversation putting said shellphone down for one reason or another. "--ave to, Bakugo. Eventually everyone has to."

"Can't convince me of that. What you can convince me of is you going and fucking yourself."

"...Why would I be able to convin-"

"Shut your mouth, shut it and keep it shut."

There's a long silence and a frustrated groan/sigh combo, somehow defying the sounds from being separate. "Say what you were saying."

"Why would I be able to co-"

"NOT. THAT ONE, MORON. BEFORE THAT."

"Oh."

"Ughh."

"You have to, Bakugo. Eventually everyone has to."

"Gimme one good reason."

"Having a broad spectrum of friends."

The person speaking next makes a noise that's supposed to emulate a buzzer, "Hard pass."

God that's even worse than a regular pass. Hmm... "Being able to reach out to more people in general?"

"Not on your life, keep trying."

"Networking...?"

"For what?"

"To bring more people toget-"

"Nope."

There's another sigh, this time just a regular one and it's from the first of the two speakers.

"Because if something happens and someone needs Dynamight, how will they know to reach out to you if they don't know that you're capable, willing and able? Through Midoriya and I? They will reach out to us and us alone. I think that would be a disservice to themselves and to you, you're an accomplished hero and I think people deserve to learn that from your mouth."

A small silence yet again. Something that when the next speaker speaks up finds him less animated and less uninclined.

"...Whatever. I don't care. Set me up with your friends or whatever."

"I only know a few people he-- Oh. Huh."

"What?"

There's rustling and obviously they're getting closer.

"I must have hit the broadcast."

"YOU WHAT?"

"Ah, Hello. This is Shoto Todoroki. If anyone can hear me. Please meet one of my best friends Katsuki Baku--"

There's a grabbing noise, scraping the phone before the feed ends.

Ehh, that's so sweet! And how long have you two known each other?

[Shoto isn't sure how it's sweet, but he's going to end up taking someone's word for it over his own.]

At least a year or so, not much over the full year. It seems like a lot longer.

[Which is a long time for Shoto.]

When with the best of friends, it always feels as if you've known them forever. [ Her voice is cheerful and light. ] And, ah, hmm.. I'm getting the impression the two of you... work together? Is that right?

I think that's true. I know I haven't known them a long time, all my friends, but it feels like the best time.

We do work together.

[Bakugo would call it rivalry, and to extents Shoto would agree, but!]

We're both striving to be the best in our class, but I think now that I have a different perspective, he pushes me just as hard as he pushes himself.

[Let him talk up his friend he is here to help him make friends. ~~It should not be Shoto doing this, not in the least.~~]

Bakugo is a very driven person and someone who wants the best for and from the people around him.

[And has since walked off after yelling at him earlier to put the phone down.]

There's always sincerity in passion, mmhm. [ A soft giggle. ] So, you're both heroes that push each other? But you both sound young! I guess that makes it even more incredible.

Oh... No it's not passionate. We're just friends. [He has misunderstood, but that's often for him and moves on smoothly from it once he clears it up in his mind.]

But we do help each other. My friend he challenges me daily. Makes sure that I live up to my best standards in everything I do and doesn't let me slip backward. When I do he goes out of his way to remind me that I'm not where I am and takes the time to help me get there.

[Just. Y'know. Unconventionally.]

If I can do that for him, then I've fulfilled my job as his friend and hopefully shown him the same kindness.

[His normally unwordy answers get pretty wordy talking or thinking about his friends.]

We do, that's one of the things friends are for. Without him and my other friends, I don't think I'd have gotten this far in my training or in my life. I owe them a lot.

You don't have to, but it's nice to hear someone else can see how good a friend he can be. Do you have friends like that here?

I don't know what a magic tech is but, I can make assumptions. We have some of the same hobbies, I agree about training. There's no reason not to just because a person isn't home. No better time to start if they don't at home either. What discipline do you train in?

You'll probably just have to spar with me to find out~!

I mean, I can do basic combat, I can, plus some elemancy. Do you have a particular element you want to try yourself against? I can probably assist with it.

I can do that. I like live sparring to keep in check. It's more efficient learning what other people might do than practicing with something stationary.

Fire or ice. Separate or both in tandem within the safe limitations of not blowing up the air at their focal points.

I prefer morning, but all day any time there is daylight. Night training is fine, but it's much easier during the day for light sparring.
