[Barnabas can be found in the arena, examining his sword. It looks as it should...

He swings the long blade, creating a blade of energy that flies from him and leaves a deep cut in the wall. He frowns at it. It should have cut deeper, but perhaps giving his power to Mythos dampened his strength. Or perhaps it was being on a Star not his own.

He looks up when he senses someone approaching.]

[it doesn't take long for eizen to notice someone a distance away who meets the description provided. in approaching to check, barnabas chooses then to leave the nearby wall with a lovely new cut. color him impressed. this guy may be a fun fight.

Not a bad strike.

[he comments casually while stopping a short distance away from barnabas.]

I'm eager to see how that looks when you're actually in combat as opposed to merely testing it.

[it's not hard to tell that was a practice swing.]

[Barnabas turned, gaging the other man.]

Even if it is a test, this world is different enough to lessen my strength. Just as well.

[He steps into a fighting stance, blade pointing at the man.]

All I have to do is re-earn it against strong opponents. Are you strong enough for that?

[the sword pointed at him is met with a cool gaze in response. after a moment, he turns his attention back toward barnabas]

Whether I am or not isn't something we can determine by words alone.

[he raises a fist and takes a battle stance himself.]
