[There was a soft melody playing in the background, along with the sound of paws pattering about. Some heavier steps. The music clearly from a music box that sounded as if it was sat somewhere closer to the shellphone—]

This is Professor Turo, and my apologies for perhaps a late statement that I may not be so easily found as usual the last several days; a few days more as well. Less time spent walking Cosmo, other places.

Of course I can still be reached over these, but I have been taking some time to myself. Finishing up a few projects, making room for others that are more in progress. Preparation for possible adoption candidates at Cosmo Conservatory -next month may do well for that- so I can be found within the medical building there once more at the very least.

[—that melody hanging in the air for a few notes. It at least helped to soothe...]

[ He takes the bottle and tilts it to the side, observing the texture with some vague curiosity. ]

Alright. Is there a special way...?

[ Even for all he's learned about animals since being here, he's still no expert. ]

Ideally you want you keep the pup on its belly, so you can either prop it on a leg or in a hand, depending on size.

[He did have to keep two of the pups from wiggling out of his lap, four others getting their way down to go to their mother. Getting a little grooming of course—]

You want to keep the bottle angled just enough that it isn't straight up so the pup can't drink down too much too quickly. Its easy for them to inhale as they drink, as with others. This young especially. [Even as he spoke, Turo was helping one of the two kept back -after a moment of letting their mother lean enough to do a little 'wake up' groom- so that Faulkner could take a wiggly pup.]

Probably easiest to have it propped on a leg, easier control and a free hand incase it wiggles and slips.

[ He nods as he listens along. He's not sure about the reasons for all of it—wouldn't holding them on their back be easier, isn't that how people feed babies?

But he'll keep it all in mind. ]

C'mere, you.

[ He reaches to take a pup and set it on his leg, petting it a bit to try to get it to settle down and stop wiggling before he tries to offer it the bottle. ]

No that's—that's my hand you're chewin' on. That's not what you want at all.

[Tt could be quite the time when a pup wouldn't latch on to a bottle. Turo tried to ensure that all of them had a chance to actually nurse from their mother, a reason they had loose but different colored ribbons around their necks; easier to tell them apart. He'd done the same with Mariposa's puppies- the ribbons.

Turo brushed fingers along the pup's spine, just letting it lay on a thigh as he lifted the bottle so the nipple was near the mouth, squeezing it so there was a drop—]

Make sure not to lift its head, but give the bottle a little squeeze so there's a drop—should latch onto the nipple rather than your hand. Even now they'll latch onto anything that will fit in their mouth when hungry.

[—as the puppy he was feeding went for the bottle once it got a taste of the milk inside from that little drop.]

Its best to keep them in a position they would naturally be in when nursing, otherwise they would aspirate- inhale the milk.
