I've been thinking about something lately and I figure I might as well ask the rest of you for a bit of advice.

I realised it's coming up on a year since I met my partner, pretty soon here. I've never really dated anyone seriously before, or paid much attention to these things at all if I'm honest.

What sort of thing do most people do for a first anniversary? How… big of a deal is it generally considered to be? I don’t want to go overboard or anything but I’d like to do something nice.

Maybe some of you could share traditions from your worlds?

maybe I can help! Is there anything big that reminds you of when you met? Or something you see that makes you think of them?

Well, flight, birds, and feathers are some obvious ones, for how we met and the person in general. Maybe too obvious, really. There's also a little cafe we went to when we met, and some photographs I took.

what if you put photos into a photobook along with bird feathers that remind you of him? maybe also take them to the cafe for dinner! maybe you could even find someone that could make a pendant for you in the shape of a bird feather. specifically one that really reminds you of them! you could even add a feather entwined for both of you. or jewels to symbolize you both

I like all those ideas a lot.

I might be able to make something like that myself, actually. With a little help, at least. I've been starting to learn to make jewelry, things with stones and magical effects.

making it yourself would be the best! id love something like that from my partner. it'd be meaningful in a lot of ways.
