TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.

A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.

Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

What's a chocobo?

A giant bird you can ride on, about as big as the horses and other animal steeds in this world. Looks a bit something like this.

[That's a hecking big bird. It's a masterpiece shhh]

Gotcha. [Reminds him a bit of an ostrich, just with a shorter neck and probably less of a jerk.] Is two the lie? If you could, you probably would've made it snow down a lot more during our fight!

[Clearly Ranma hasn't heard tale of the infamous murder happy ones—]

Aye, you got it. While I can influence the clouds and storms a little, and working on magic related to it to do more, I can't really do much more than that.

Got it in one! [Just gonna pump his fist in celebration on his side of the screen. Cid couldn't see it, but he could probably feel the showboating.] How's big is a 'yalm'? Like a skyscraper?

And so far the only one, so congratulations.

Not sure what a skyscraper is, but two yalms is about my height.

[So 1 yalm = 3 feet/~1 meter.]

[Cid you are only fueling his ego and competitiveness. The only reason why he isn't rubbing it in the faces of the other people who've tried is because he doesn't feel like it. Yet.]

Large building in a city. And gotcha.

[That doesn't exactly explain anything like what the heck's a yalm, but with the Chocobo, Ranma's gonna run under the assumption of another creature from his world.]

And how big are these "skyscrapers"? I'm assuming bigger than the buildings here.

[Well if they are called sky scraper then surely must mean something.]

[To be fair, a majority of other people's worlds have different creatures Ranma's never heard of. Is it really shocking he'd think yalm's some small monster?]

Typically hundreds to thousands of feet. If you were standing at the bottom of some, you wouldn't be able to see the top from a couple of miles away. They're usually in cities, so I hadn't seen too many. I'd say compared to a lot of the structures here, they're like comparing a tiny droplet of water to an endless sea.

So perhaps even taller than a castle or a tower spire? What's their purpose?

Maybe. Castles aren't all that common where I'm from, and I've only been to a couple on important business that didn't exactly involve sightseeing.

[Can't say they looked bad either, even if the princes there were jackasses.]

I dunno. I think it's where a lotta people do office work in. Boring stuff like that, which is prolly why they look massive to compensate?

You live in quite an interesting world if that is the case. But if that's the case, do you prefer how things are here?

Oh you can say that again...

[Interesting doesn't come close to describing Ranma's world.]

This place's pretty alright. It's a lot more... What's the word I'm looking here? [Saner?] Tame? All things considered. Plus the people here are mostly chill and cool.

If you think this world is tamer, I'm hesitant to think what all is in yours to make you think so.

I had not thought you to be an artist, as well.

[ Take his sentence however you see fit, but it isn't actually a bad drawing?? ]

Though Ambrosia might have a few critiquing words.

I wouldn't call myself a professional, but when you have to draw diagrams and designs, you learn a thing or two.

But if she wants a real portrait, I'll have to charge her.

Hm… I suppose that makes sense. What sort of other secret talents are you hiding?

Tell that to her the next time she offers up her services for a ride.

If I told you, they wouldn't be a secret now would they?

Honestly, I doubt she'd let me ride to begin with. I know her type, only letting those she approves on her back.

[gruffier]

[ As if there really should be anymore secrets between them... even if Clive is still keeping one tight to his chest.

She likes you. As with most animals, it seems.

I'm sure given the time she would warm up to you.

[What kind of secrets Clive]

Even so, she's your chocobo. Perhaps I should consider having my own...we do have Yuffie's as well.

Have your own? .... What are you suggesting?

Thinking if I should use the chocobo Yuffie left behind. Though it would be nice if we had more of them around.

[Pause before another message comes through.]
