« two truths and a lie »
TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE
There have been a lot of riftfarers arriving lately. It seems like there have been more arriving than usual. So many different kinds of people from different kinds of worlds with stories to tell and experiences to give.
A little game has appeared on the shellphone network in hopes of getting to know just a little more about these otherworlders. You might find it on your shellphone as you’re scrolling through one day.
Tell the world two truths and one lie about yourself. And let others try and decipher which of the three is your lie. If they can guess right, perhaps you’ve been able to make a new acquaintance. Or in the least learn more about someone from another walk of life.

Napoleon was a French emperor and military commander. I do not know the initial reason why this Napoleon was put into his cell, but he told me he was being kept from his beloved Joséphine.
[ Maurizio thought himself to be Napoleon. That's likely the reason why he was put in the cell, but Sherlock doesn't know for sure. It could have been something the man adopted while locked up in that terrible place. ]

What kind of music tradition did you start?
[Just colour him curious! Certainly not trying to puzzle this all out or anything.]
no subject
If I had my violin, I could play you something. I wonder what it would take to obtain one here. It's fascinated me since I was a child.
[ Well, in a very minor way, Sherlock is continuing a musical tradition for the violin he was given in Cordona. ]
no subject
You play the violin? That's pretty cool. Don't know what it would cost but maybe someone knows a store that sells them?
I guess my last question is what kind of home did you live in when you had the elephant?
[Anything short of an elephant sanctuary and Sora would have his answer, or at least he thinks he would.]
no subject
As for my home, it was a two story house with eight rooms and a fenced in front yard and backyard.
[ Sherlock smiles to himself. That might makes things only more confusing. ]
no subject
[Maybe he should have asked how big the front yard was instead? Oh well, too late now!]
Hmm...Is it 2? But an elephant is really big...No, I'm going to guess 2. It's 2, right?
[Gut feeling was reason enough, right?]

[ Mycroft was considered adult enough to child Sherlock, and he is not about to leave out his imaginary friend either. There were two children. ]
However, you are correct. My second statement is the lie. I did not start a musical tradition in Cordona. It was a dramatic one.
no subject
Wait, for real? Awesome!
Okay so was it like a baby elephant? Or did you live at an elephant sanctuary? What kind of dramatic tradition? What IS a dramatic tradition, actually? Did Napoleon and Joséphine find each other again?
[Way too many questions, actually.]
no subject
Children can now learn and act out Hamlet on stage when before children weren't even allowed in the theater.
I do not know if he found his Joséphine. I hope he's well.
[ Was that all of them? ]
no subject
How come? Didn't they know children's theatre was a thing?
I hope they did and they're both happy together too.
[Oh, dear sweet Sherlock. There will always be more questions. He's too nosy for there not to always be more questions.]
no subject
He was very fond of the elephant, Goliath, and was known for having it and developing areas on Cordona for Goliath's use. Sadly, Goliath was also used as a murder weapon in his death.
[ Sherlock was upset to learn that the elephant's fate did not remain as he hoped a few years later. ]
The director of the theater didn't think children belonged in theater. We held our own play in protest at the back exit and changed his mind.
no subject
He what..?!? Why would someone do that?!
[That was somehow deeply upsetting news for an animal that Sora had never even known exist five minutes ago.]
So you did that as a kid too? That's fantastic!
no subject
A dispute over an archeological dig site research and turning it into the victim's new construction project. The animal was just a means to carry out the murder and attempt to escape the consequences of it by the murderer.
[ Goliath deserved better. ]
Have you acted in a play?
no subject
[He has big feelings on the elephant injustice. The murder was bad too but the real tragedy was Goliath's story.]
Me? Act? In a play? Nooo, I'm not really good at stuff like that.
[He couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. Same for lying as well as Roxas had already so kindly pointed out to him.]
no subject
[ He'll refrain from upsetting key2myheart further with Goliath's fate.
Sherlock thought from key2myheart's last reply that they had also acted. Perhaps they think Sherlock is an actor. He can't imagine himself as an actor, but if he had stayed on Cordona longer and under better circumstances, could the path of his life gone in that direction? ]
You could always learn. That was part of the point. Maybe we weren't as grand as those walking the stage at night, but with some polish, maybe we could be.
no subject
Yeah, that's something. Shouldn't have happened at all but at least the right person was caught.
I don't know about that. I'm pretty bad at not telling the truth. Kind of think I wouldn't be any good at acting either because of that. Isn't the difference between the two just that with one everyone knows and is playing along?
[Honest to a fault, some might even say.]
no subject
Acting isn't about lying. It's about playing a role. You can speak complete truths but still be acting.
no subject
I guess I haven't really met a lot of actors or gotten to know any either. Not sure how someone can be completely truthful and still be acting. Is it a charisma thing?
[Liars on the other hand...Oh boy, has he dealt with a few which might explain something about that outlook regarding acting.]
no subject
It's how you carry yourself and your voice, how you move or dress. The words said can be exactly the same, but acting can make their delivery different.
[ Sherlock has also dealt with a number of liars, both those who didn't act and those did. ]
no subject
So were you learning to be an actor or something before you ended up here? Is that why you said 'maybe we could be' before? 'Cause you're still studying acting or something?
[Plus whoever this astudyinviolet person was, they seemed to know a lot about theatre...And unsuitable elephant housing but that didn't seem like it was personally their fault. Just an unfortunate situation for everyone involved.]
no subject
[ He also sketches, but he doesn't consider that art. It's more for reference. ]
no subject
[It's a valid question, right? Studies music, plays violin, walks like a duck, sounds like a duck. That's how that works right?]

Where do you like now? Does your family still live there?
How come you moved? Was it a real estate thing?
idk what that means but my dad talked about it a lot whenever he would talk about us moving. Don't think he'll ever move though.
no subject
[ Talk of his family, the reasons he moved two and from Cordona, is a very tender subject for him. ]
