Warnings: Potential discussions about sex? I guess?? But mostly this is just Alhaitham being the most obliviously shameless man alive.

This is Alhaitham.

I have a survey that I would like people to fill. There are no restrictions or stipulations to the nature of the responder. The only request is for you to be honest when filling it up.

1) Are you currently in a romantic relationship or have been in one? (yes/no)
2) If yes, does your current or previous relationship involve sex? (yes/no)
3) List down 5 to 10 words that describe what your significant other (past or present) makes you feel.
4) What is your main priority when you are with your significant other (past or present)?
5) How do you measure or recognize your feelings as love? What separates them infatuation or sexual attraction? Describe in 100 words or less.

You are free to leave your answers in this post or direct them to my inbox. I will be following up on whatever answers I feel are necessary.

[You hear that tone? Somebody's angy.]

Care to explain exactly what you think you're doing?

[Alhaitham does indeed hear that tone...

...and promptly ignores it.]

Waiting for you to finish so that we can have lunch.

[Also ignoring the fact that he ended up not helping Kaveh at all, like he said he would. If Kaveh steps into the living room he'll also see that Alhaitham's gaze is fully fixed on his shellphone right now.]

[Kaveh just slammed it open.]

PUT YOUR ARCHONSDAMNED PHONE DOWN.

[Alhaitham does, in fact, put the phone down, then looks up to Kaveh, blinking at him with a guileless expression.]

What's wrong?

[This man has no idea what is about to happen to him.]

Do you recall you said you would help me get the butterflies in order?

[Deep breaths, Kaveh. Deep breaths. Do not just shriek and slap the phone out of his hands.]

Or did you forget that while engrossed in your research?

I didn't forget.

[Just says this as if nothing is wrong at all. Because its not, at least in Alhaitham's eyes.]

I said I'd come when you needed help. And you're clearly managing everything well enough by yourself.

That isn't how promises wor--that's not the point!

[Gesturing sharply at his phone.]

Why are you publicly researching this?!

Did you not tell me multiple times to learn from a broader range of people?

[He's just following your advice, senior, don't put this on him.]

A broader range of people who are now all going to assume this is also about me.

[BRUH AT LEAST POST ANONYMOUSLY????]

[But why would he do that.

And why would they assume it would be about you? I made no mention about you in any of my questions and responses.

[Well the last part is a bit of a lie but he didn't drop any names or anything specific. That still counts!!]

[Kaveh pinches the bridge of his nose.] Of the people who have met you, what percentage of them have done so outside of a context that involved me pushing you to socialize?

[Several moments pass as Alhaitham thinks over the question that Kaveh has just posed.

There is... Cid? And Dehya. And then Benedikta as well, and...

[He's always been a reticent in nature. Kaveh knows this.]

What it means is anyone who recognizes you is most likely to connect you to me. And thus connect this topic to me.

[Why are you so bad at people!!!]

[Another pause as Alhaitham thinks over this again. He does see where Kaveh is going with this, and how people might make such assumptions.

...hmm.]

Well, it's not as if people aren't aware of your tendency to romanticize everything.

[So maybe people will just take it that way?]

Which in turn begs the question why you would be curious about this topic and not asking me. People are naturally inquisitive about the subject in others, and reticent when it comes to themselves.

[He sighs again. he's trying to make sense of this himself...]

...How important is this research to you?

[People keep thinking he's trying to be nosy?? He's fairly certain he made sure to stick to non invasive questions...

But at Kaveh's question there is another pause. It's not as long as the other two, but the key difference here is the fact that Alhaitham is looking directly at Kaveh this time, as if trying to access something.]

...very. [He eventually says to break the silence, gaze still fixed on Kaveh as he speaks.] It is very important to me.

[Perhaps even the most important thing of all.]

[Kaveh is quiet for a while, but it'd be hard to miss the pink tinging his ears and his cheeks. It's that important to him...is it?

Kaveh is many things, but he's only sometimes a fool. If this is his answer, then...]

Alright.

[He crosses his arms, trying to hold onto his scraps of indignation in vain.] You best expect your conclusion to be held to the highest standard, then.

[Alhaitham sees the tinge of pink that comes onto Kaveh's ears and blinks at them, not sure at all where that would've come from. As far as he's concerned he's simply telling the truth, just as he's always has.]

...alright. [Truthfully he is a little surprised at how much Kaveh has quietened down after his response earlier, but he's not going to question it... for now, anyway.] I'll make sure that the answer I find will be one that meets your standard.

[Saying this even though he hasn't said anything about any of this being for Kaveh's sake prior.]

Hmmph. You better. I'm not answering any of this survey until you do.

[The blush deepens, and Kaveh's huff is very obviously not out of real anger....maybe he won't make soup tonight after all.]

But you still need to put the shellphone away if we're going to get lunch.

[Well Alhaitham was never planning on asking Kaveh to answer this in the first place, so that is pretty much fine by... though now that his senior has mentioned it he supposes a part of him is curious as to what his senior's answers might be. But that can be something for another time.

For now, he'll just note the deepening flush on the architect's face and wonder about it as he goes to keep his shellphone as asked. There has already been a fair bit of responses to sift through, and he is getting fairly hungry.]

I want the thing we had the other night. [Says, as he stands up.] The one with the... bacon bits.

[He doesn't know what it was called but it was very nice.]

You are getting so spoiled here.

[Which is not Kaveh saying no, that thing was SLATHERED in cheese.]

Come on then, get your shoes.

[He is not so subtly pointing out the fact that you are not turning him down, senior.

But either way, the promise of lunch beckons to them, and thus Alhaitham heads to get his boots on as told so that they can go and get some much needed food.]

Is not me agreeing part of how you're being spoiled?

[He's just saying! But he's focusing on lunch. He has a lot of emotions to process, and that goes better on a full stomach.]

You can decide what to cook for dinner later, if you're so insistent.

[Though half the time Kaveh ends up making what Alhaitham likes anyway. Which he certainly isn't going to complain about.]

Ah, you're graciously allowing me to do what I always do?

[Well that is getting him gently elbowed, as Kaveh picks up his cloak on the way to the door.]
