If there is anyone with a penchant for feet who would take this ridiculous toe ring off my hands then I would be much obliged.

[Freminet was intimidated by a lot of people. Not to mention that he has no idea what to expect when talking to this mysterious man in person. However, as he kneeled on to eye-level, the blond had to take a step back.

It was one thing to see a tall scary man but it was another to see him on the same level as he was.]

[He said before looking at said mechanical penguin in his arms. Without another word, he gave Pers to Emet-Selch to see what he would say.] What do you think?

[ He takes the penguin and gives it a careful examination. There's only so much he can do just kneeling here on the ground with no tools and such, but he can, at least, See the way its electrical current runs through the thing. Is the robotic penguin's internal design simple or complex? Is its power source adequate for all the functions it's been given? ]

Hmm... I think I would benefit from seeing it in action. Would you mind turning it on and have it perform some basic functions?

Uh...yes, of course.

[With that, he gave a nod before grabbing the penguin back. As he places Pers down, he starts twisting the knob on his back before the penguins starts moving. Swaddling back and forth, Freminet finds himself mumbling a bit.]

...I know it seems rather simple but I'm hoping to find time to upgrade him.

So for the present moment, its only function is to waddle back and forth?

[ If such a simple action is already causing inconsistencies in its power function, it may have to be remade at a fundamental level, he thinks. ]

Hmm... Shall we head somewhere more comfortable and open him up?

Well, he does a little bit more than that...

[Although, having to explain it might be a bit tricky. Looking around, he pointed to a tree nearby. As he gestured him to follow along, he looked down at his penguin once more.]

[ He follows the younger boy's leave, well and truly curious now. ]

Oh? I see. You certainly wouldn't want him malfunctioning in the middle of battle in that case. Are you going to demonstrate?

Sure, you might want to take a set back.

[That said, as they went over to the tree, before throwing the penguin high up in the air. As he did so, there was the sound of a timer being heard. Gesturing the man to take a step back, he took a huge swing of his Claymore. While there was a big wall of ice appearing before them, the timer got louder as if it was getting ready for something.]

[ He does as bid, keeping what he thinks to be a reasonable distance from the boy and his penguin as they swing their claymore. He decides to shuffle a few steps further back when he hears the ticking however.

Is the ice a barrier for them, he wonders? ]

[With one more giant swing, he lands his Claymore to the ground. It was then, at that moment, the timer from Pers reached its limit. Once it did so, there was an explosion of ice that came from the ground. While there were ice shattered everywhere, it didn't seem to harm Freminet. If anything, he took a few steps back before looking back at the man.]

Um....what do you think...?

[ He had raised a hand to shield himself from stray flecks of ice as they explode outward. When he lowers it, his expression does seem to indicate he's mildly impressed. ]

Interesting... That is certainly more advanced than I was expecting. How does it amplify your magic?

Mostly because there is a device inside that allows it. I thought if I was going to make him, I had to figure out a way to have him fight alongside with me.

[That and he wasn't even sure how to explain it given that Pers just somehow managed to do that.]

Hmm...

[ Since he presumes it's safe to approach the little penguin now, he does so. Now that he understands what he's looking at better, he makes a reassessment. ]

If the amplification requires a large, sudden surge of magic to activate then you may need to improve the circuits which deliver it, first and foremost. You could also consider separating the battery which keeps its basic functions running from that which is needed to support you in battle. That way it won't become entirely useless after you use it.

I had thought about upgrading Pers but without the proper equipment here, it can be rather challenging.

[But at the same time? As he picks Pers up, he starts looking at him before humming to himself.]

Although, I could try to see if there is a blacksmith who would be willing to help me see if there is anything that could enhance my powers with Pers...

There is one that I know of. A fellow called Darin. Mayhap he can assist you with reworking your friend's mechanical parts.

[ Emet-Selch's strengths lie very much on the side of magic. But... ]

I don't know how familiar the man is with magic but I would not mind advising you further once you've decided what you want to do.
