001 | Video | New visitors!

[ The videos opens to a familiar face who, surprisingly given the past couple of weeks or so, is actually smiling warmly into the camera.

Small portions of his surroundings can be seen in the background, placing his whereabouts in a rather grassy field.
]

Thought you would like to see the recent companions I've come across. [ He says before panning his face out of view and onto a pile of... chicks?

Well. Chocobo chicks to be exact.

There are eight of them from what the camera depicts- their colors ranging from bright yellow, to silver, to a slightly darker mix of the two. Beyond their chirping forms their mother is seen looking curiously on beside them. Another yellow chocobo is seen further off in the field, and with the presence of Torgal attempting to sniff at them from a safe distance, it looks as though Clive is currently surrounded by animals...!
]

It appears they are but a few days old. Funny. I never thought you to be the motherly type, Ambrosia— [ Clive playfully mocks at the older chocobo who shakes her winged feathers in response.

"Kweh!"

He'll laugh off screen before inching the camera a bit closer to the chicks, who are scrambling around and practically running over one another in childish excitement.
]

Should anyone have need of a new companion, let me know. While chocobos could prove to be very useful here, I don't think I can handle quite this many.

That is the beast Cid rode backwards?

Cid said he rode a 'chocobo' backwards. The amateur drawing he provided is similar enough that from what he described, it could be that bird.

He said he did it for a bet.

Then that is the bird?

[A tilt of his head as his eyes shifted to look at them over Clive's shoulder. They were far more visually appealing than Cid's drawing had made them out to be, as well.]

How long until the children can leave their mother?

Then the expert should be asked.

[He replied to Clive before addressing the chocobo mother directly, fully expecting her to be able to answer him in whatever language she happened to speak:]

How much longer do you think your children need to stay with you before they can be safely taken to new homes? And what is their preferred environment?

[If she was half as intelligent as she looked, she'd be able to understand him and even if all she could do was squawk or trill back, he'd be able to understand her.]

[He blinked at the question and then inclined his head.]

If the mother is amenable to this venerable one adopting her child into his care, yes.

[He intended to 'give' it to Orchid to do most of the caring, but it wasn't like he hadn't taken other intelligent creatures into his personal care before.]

This venerable one presumes she is likely to, as you said you do not believe yourself capable of caring for all of them and she has not yet objected to your plan to release them into the care of others.

This venerable one is not new to difficult tasks. He is willing to do the work.

[And pass the work on to Orchid who could charm just about anything into behaving itself with her kind manner.]

This venerable one has chickens that are about the size the children are now. They brood too much on empty eggs. They will be good companions until it grows larger. They will be very happy to have a child to mother when it is need of attention at times this venerable one and his crew are otherwise busy with our own duties.

[As he says this, he moves his camera to show the corner of a very spacious ship cabin with floor to ceiling windows along one wall that has been overtake by six chickens with feathers that were a warm golden color. A couple of them were clearly 'brooding' while the others were fussing like - well, like mother hens - over a large black cat laying in the middle of their area and purring loudly. The cat was very large for what looked like type of housecat.]

Deathstar is a capable guardian as well. Do not let his apparent laziness fool you.
