001 | Video | New visitors!
[ The videos opens to a familiar face who, surprisingly given the past couple of weeks or so, is actually smiling warmly into the camera.
Small portions of his surroundings can be seen in the background, placing his whereabouts in a rather grassy field. ]
Thought you would like to see the recent companions I've come across. [ He says before panning his face out of view and onto a pile of... chicks?
Well. Chocobo chicks to be exact.
There are eight of them from what the camera depicts- their colors ranging from bright yellow, to silver, to a slightly darker mix of the two. Beyond their chirping forms their mother is seen looking curiously on beside them. Another yellow chocobo is seen further off in the field, and with the presence of Torgal attempting to sniff at them from a safe distance, it looks as though Clive is currently surrounded by animals...!]
It appears they are but a few days old. Funny. I never thought you to be the motherly type, Ambrosia— [ Clive playfully mocks at the older chocobo who shakes her winged feathers in response.
"Kweh!"
He'll laugh off screen before inching the camera a bit closer to the chicks, who are scrambling around and practically running over one another in childish excitement. ]
Should anyone have need of a new companion, let me know. While chocobos could prove to be very useful here, I don't think I can handle quite this many.

Oh my god they're so cute. I want one.
Is that a huge chicken???

[ But their lack of knowledge for what they actually were was... only mildly concerning. Guess they weren't so common? ]
You could say that. Ambrosia, along with her hatchlings, are chocobos. They are fierce companions, and most use them for travel due to their size.

But looks like we'll have to bump up building a stable of sorts.

[ Clive tone seems somewhat exasperated, but he will eventually turn the camera towards a pile of wood that had been recently gathered a few feet away from the hatchlings. ]
Already got a bit of a head start on it, though carpentry has never been much a strong suit of mine.

Chocobos tend to lay a fair amount of eggs. I believe this is rather typical, but I am no expert.

Well, considering they grow into... that. [ He'll motion to Ambrosia once again who pokes her beak into the camera momentarily. ]
I'd say you would need a fair amount of space. Luckily we have just that.

I take it you've never had chocobo soup before?
Afraid there's not enough meat on their bone to sample yet. But these aren't for eating. [ Not these ones anyway. ]

Wow! Chocobos! I had heard about them before but never got to see one before!
Avalanche crew definitely needs a chocobo. The little guy or girl won't be lonely with us.
no subject
Was that a talking pink chocobo?
The shock on Clive's face is more than evident. His words stumble, trying to address the, uh, bird in question. ]
Uh— y... yes. They are loyal companions, through and through.

But chocobos are a common sight no matter where you travel. It's hard to imagine a life without them. [ He pauses, quickly glancing into the camera. ] Are there creatures similar where you are from?

Are there any left?
"Chocobos" do not exist in my world so I must admit that I am extremely intrigued. Do they grow into the size of a chicken or larger??
no subject
[ He'll quickly send an image of their mother- giant bird self and all. ]
Be a tight fit if you intend to keep it as a house pet.

Damn they are way bigger than I thought though!!

Looks like Cid's drawing is rather infamous at this point.
But you're right. Pictures can hardly convey their size. Well, good ones at least.

Perhaps one can consider you a grandfather now.

Startin' to feel like the wildlife here's far tamer than I'm used to. The whole lot of you've been flauntin' them around.
[He's seen Torgal as well as a couple of other creatures native to this world, and even that it's still a handful more than he's used to back in the Games and on Salvo.]
