001 | Video | New visitors!
[ The videos opens to a familiar face who, surprisingly given the past couple of weeks or so, is actually smiling warmly into the camera.
Small portions of his surroundings can be seen in the background, placing his whereabouts in a rather grassy field. ]
Thought you would like to see the recent companions I've come across. [ He says before panning his face out of view and onto a pile of... chicks?
Well. Chocobo chicks to be exact.
There are eight of them from what the camera depicts- their colors ranging from bright yellow, to silver, to a slightly darker mix of the two. Beyond their chirping forms their mother is seen looking curiously on beside them. Another yellow chocobo is seen further off in the field, and with the presence of Torgal attempting to sniff at them from a safe distance, it looks as though Clive is currently surrounded by animals...!]
It appears they are but a few days old. Funny. I never thought you to be the motherly type, Ambrosia— [ Clive playfully mocks at the older chocobo who shakes her winged feathers in response.
"Kweh!"
He'll laugh off screen before inching the camera a bit closer to the chicks, who are scrambling around and practically running over one another in childish excitement. ]
Should anyone have need of a new companion, let me know. While chocobos could prove to be very useful here, I don't think I can handle quite this many.

Mostly, I was interested in showing a crewmate of mine a chocobo. He really wanted to try riding one.
But honestly, I think this is even better! So I'll definitely take a chick off your hands if you're willing. There're a few of us on Avalanche with some experience with the birds, so I guarantee it'll be in good hands. 🐤❤️
Though, they look a little different than the babies we've got back home.

Than you're more than welcome to pick one of your choosing. It's good to know that chocobos are not as uncommon as I was lead to believe.
Oh? What's the difference?

Actually. I'll show you.
[And then, a few minutes later, Clive will receive this doodle:]
Like this!
[She may have taken a creative liberty with the cheeks, but he should get the idea!]

The shocks him at first, but in the most delightful way. Th- this was actually really cute...? ]
They do appear much larger, head and all.
It's a very nice picture. Thank you, Tifa.

Though, I think all chocobos are cute no matter the shape or size.
So, do any of these little guys have names yet?
no subject
[ He also thinks they are very cute. But Clive saying that? He'll leave that up the the implied. ]
But no. Not yet. I'll leave the names up to their future caregivers. [ he'll lean the device a bit closer to survey the chicks once again. Some will even come closer and chirp at the camera!! Not really realizing what it is, though. ]
We can arrange to meet in person so you can pick and name one. Unless there's one you already fancy.

I'm not, but if you give me some coordinates, I can find my way. I'm sure there's a sailor around here that could use a little bit of extra coin in his pockets. 😉

[ He'll send over the coordinates, all while tilting his head at the constant appearance of new emojis. Why were there... so many... ]
action! a few days later~
Which won't be for at least another day because wow, they are far out from Eltrut, but she's hired one of the best ships to take her there and then back. They dock at one of the beaches and as soon as she's hopped out and taken a moment to admire the high mountains and cliffs of their island, staring up and around in awe, he will get a text from her.]
I'm down at the northern beach. Might be easier if you brought the chick down with you to meet me?

Of course. I will be there shortly.
[ There were a few that had yet to be claimed, but picking one that Clive has deemed "the cutest" for Tifa, he'll scoop the hatchling into his arms and begin his descent towards the beach.
... However, it seems like the remaining few are eager to attend, so they'll be waddling right along with Clive as he soon spots Tifa from a distance. ]
I pray the journey was a peaceful one. [ He'll say with a soft smile. This was their first meeting, wasn't it? Funny. She's exactly what he pictured her to look like.
The couple of chocobo chicks in attendance will chirp at her before waddling to greet her! Jumping up and down to play! ]

It was, yeah. Waters and weather were good this time around, thankfully.
[Her eyes scan all of the little chicks hopping up and down for her attention.]
Looks like you brought some company along, too!
[And she will be more than happy to give it, leaning down and giving each one a pat on the head and a hello.]
