I've noticed that people around here like surveys and I thought I'd join in on making one! Some of you may know that our first year anniversary of our arrival here in this world is coming up real soon. Like two weeks - give or take a few days. So I thought I'd see who else has been here as long as I have! I feel like I've seen at least most of the "veterans" once or twice and if we haven't talked yet:

I'll answer it first!

1. 16 days away from a year.
2. Nope!
3. Like briefly one person on new arrival day and then never again.
4. Ghoul's Moon.
5. Same answer as above. It was pretty fun fighting all the undead. I guess the Masquerade Ball was pretty okay, too.
6. Maybe? I dunno, this world is a lot better for me than my own.

I know, right? It feels like it wasn't that long ago when I was beating you at Capture the Flag.

I think I know who I mean on the one who overstayed. Was the other your friend?

Celebrations or other events this place seems to throw at us. I guess technically Capture the Flag and that competition would technically be our first - but it seemed more like a "get to know the opposite side" sort of thing.

And I suppose that game could count but I'm in agreement that it was more of a competition. Been a while since I've seen such a thing now that I think of it.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to learn that you've come down with Alzheimer's in your old age. I can draw you pictures of our adventure so you can always look back and remember it. [ Does he know what Alzheimer's is? ]

Maybe it's a yearly thing where the Paladins and Corsairs compete against each other. I guess we'll see when the next event drops. If it does, I hope you're prepared to lose again.

No I am sure I remember quite clearly. However, I would be quite interested to see of your version.

Okay, I'll send you the truth, so you can always remember it.

[ While there are times when Nimona's age really shows, all of the acceptance she's gotten here has allowed her to just be her chaotic self. Spending her whole life alone, is it any wonder that she just wants to have fun with others now? ]

Ooo, a bet. You're on. If there's a competition and the Paladins win, you have to build me something. I don't know what yet, but now you decide what you want from me!

But he just chuckles to himself because unless she wants him to build something ridiculous, he doesn't really see that as much of a loss.]

Then if the Corsairs win, you have to assist me in some of my own projects for a month.

[ Cid is 100% getting a flip book that definitely did not happen, because Nimona is shape-shifting to win their game. While her figure is always in pink, Torgal is blue, and Cid is a dark yellow - because bright yellow is hard on the eyes with white paper. ]

Deal. I'll think of something for you to build for me before the bet is settled.

Though I admit some of these sound odd.

Boom for the thunder, shocka for the lightning, and cap is short for captain. It has another meaning, but it's not important here.

[Okay, he gets the "boom" now, but "shocka"? He's saying it out loud...a few times... "Shock"? Is that what it is? Definitely has a bit of a flair to it if a bit odd.]

Now you can't say that and not tell me. What's the other meaning?

They're puns for a pair of sisters who also happen to be amaziiiiing singers. Taka Boom and Chaka Khan.

I mean, I could also see Boom Shocka as like a secret handshake. Where you pound fists for the Boom and pull it away with spirit fingers for the Shocka - you know, like you're doing sparkle fingers.

You're not trying to imply you want to do a special "handshake" now, are you? Might be a much even for me.

I know you're getting old, but that's why you have to keep moving. Do some stretches, limber up, try yoga, do special handshakes.

Make sure your joints don't lock up and all.

I do all of that just fine, thank you. The only thing something of that nature would do is strain my dignity.
