01 Video: Une Introduction
Type: Video!
Sender ID: triompheduhimbo | Napoleon Bonaparte
To: Public
Subject: Napoleon's been here long enough, time to introduce himself!
Warnings: LOUD. French. Possible talking about war and Fate Series magic bullshit
[Sorry if you were scrolling your phones and suddenly had a loud, baritone voice coming from your shellphone speakers, the voice able to carry through the door and out the window--
If you had gotten over the surprise/shock/fear response, the video feed would show a tall man in what looks like a miliaty outfit (--was it ill fitting? that vest/shirt didn't cover his chest well--), a wide grin on his face and a cheerful look in his eye. Don't mind the odd chocolate coloured cat with huge ears and green cross eyes that was circling around his legs, it's fine.]
Now that I've gotten your attention!
[Offering the camera a wave--]
The names Napoleon Bonaparte--First Emperor of France, Servant of Chaldea, Archer Class Heroic Spirt-- I've recently shown up here and after a bit of exploring, figured I should introduce myself! So far most people don't know who I am--
[He'd tilt his head to one side, a more serious (pouty?) expression on his face while closing his eyes--]
Which is still weird as hell, I gotta say, but they're not from the world I'm from, so I won't hold it against them, haha!
[Opening his eyes again, that more relaxed expression would come back--]
I do wanna see, though, if anyone from Earth is here-- and if anyone from Chaldea, be it other Servants or the staff are around? I don't feel Maître anywhere, despite our contract still being intact so I don't think they're here, but hey, I've definitely been wrong before!
[A brief military salute, with that same smile, as the chocolate brown cat started making a honking meow--]
A bientôt!

BONJOUR, TOUTE LE MONDE!!

Yep, that's it. France had a King for those 900 years, so I wanted to be a bit more distinct, and be like the ancient Emperors and Pharaohs from even before them, that I read about in European history.
[ Or... so he thinks. He didn't really know how Napoleon felt about his decisions, after all. Just all his memories like reading the guy's private diary... ]
I'm guessing you're prooobably not human, Monsieur...?

And 'monsieur'? The translation magic didn't quite translate that, but it came back ringing with a feeling of 'sir/mister/respectful or polite title'.
Also, 'human'. The term most mortals seemed to use for themselves unless they were one of the clearly odd-mortal mortals. So this man was likely very firmly mortal and 'human'.]
Dongfang Qingcang, Moon Supreme of the Moon Tribe, Ruler of Cangyanhai, and most powerful being in the Three Realms. This venerable one is what most mortals would understand to be a god.
[He said it almost by rote. No pride in any of it, no derision either. A simple statement of fact. And then, finally, a real change: some warmth in his tone and a slight relaxation of his shoulders as he added:]
This venerable one is also the Captain of the Phantom Moon and leader of the Raiders of the Lost Arts. A crew within the Corsair ranks. That is the title and position considered relevant to most in this world.

[ Said like it wasn't a big deal-- ]
Chaldea has a lot of Gods and Goddesses in the roster from a bunch of different religions. And Shi Huang Di managed to become a... Zhēnrén? I think is the term.
[ All the same, the man would bow with respect. Seems like even if he was an Emperor, he at least knew how to be polite. ]
Good to meet you, Moon Supreme! Hope this world has been treating you well.
[ That was his title, after all, right? ]

[He inclined his head, lips curving ever so slightly. He was still learning how to express his emotions and attempting to smile on purpose was very difficult. But sometimes he managed to get one going - small, barely there, blink and you miss it - without trying.]
Shi Huang Di? In this venerable one's world, that also means 'First Emperor'. The first to become an Emperor. Does it mean something else in your world?

But, with that question, Napoleon would frown, a hand moving to rub his chin in thought. ]
Huh, I didn't realise it was that literal... He also was a 'first Emperor', but of the land we call China, about... [ BC so... 2000 plus 200-- ] 2200 years ago. So waaaaay more prestigious than me, haha!
[ Shaking his head with a smile, but he kept going. ]
I think he was originally named Ying Zheng, but declared himself higher than the 'Kings' of the folks he united under his Qin Dynasty... But, j'aime excuse, my Chinese history is limited to what I've read in more current ages, compared to my Living's self 'Memories'.
[ Also, Shi Huang Di is like, both not human and the only 'true' human in his world and turned himself into a giant computer castle that ruled over the entire world in the 3rd Lost belt, before getting the body of basically an elemental/fairy but that's neither here nor there. ]

[He wasn't sure if Napoleon was pronouncing the name correctly or not, but Ying Zheng did sound like a name from his own world...
He stilled as he mentally reviewed what Napoleon had just said.]
Living self? You are a soul who has not passed into the cycle of reincarnation?
no subject
[ But, his question had Napoleon pause. How to answer that... ]
Sort. Of? I'm sure someone like Sanzang or the gang from India could explain it better for how it affects reincarnation, but...
[ Okay, time to take a seat and explain, if the guy was that interested. ]
In my world, whenever some pe-- [ Wait. Oni, Fairies, Demigods, Monsters-- maybe rephrase that-- ] some being makes a big mark on Humanity-- Exploits that echo throughout history, they get taken out of the cycle of reincarnation and are moved to the Throne of Heroes. Think of it as a Library where all the books are the histories and souls of all these powerful people, heroes, villians, some gods and goddesses, the whole nine yards. We're put there so if there's a major threat to the world, we can come out to save it.
[ Tilting his head slightly, reaching for his cigar case-- ]
Following me so far?

Your soul is removed from the cycle of reincarnation and joined with your Destiny Book - the book no longer simply documents your fate throughout your many lifetimes, but acts as a means of storing your soul for times when your experience, knowledge, and power may be needed. A form of immortality for those that cannot otherwise achieve it.
