[The feed starts off with nothing but Denji's face crowding the camera beaming a toothy grin until he finally props the shellphone up against a nearby tree before stepping back a few paces, flashing his signature peace sign followed by a teasing wink.]

What's up everyone! Been awhile since I've talked on here but I'm back with some sick news!

[Turning away from the camera momentarily the teenager whistles loudly with a wave of his hands in front of his face. A few seconds of silence filled the air until the sound of a dog barking fills the void as the massive Irish wolfhound practically tramples him, quickly knocking the boy off his feet as it begins to lick his face furiously. Ensuing laughter following as he gently pushes his newfound companion off him patting his head, a wholesome smile filling over his features.]

Check out my new doggo! He's fuckin' huge, eh!?

[His furry canine barking on cue at the praise whilst Denji picks up a stick from the ground and throws it into the shallows of ocean, his pet rushing off to retrieve it instantaneously.]

I saved him and a bunch of others from this rich asshole's island that me and Eustace raided awhile ago! The rest are safe and sound at the animal sanctuary if anyone wants one too!

[The wet dog comes back with the stick between its teeth, tail wagging happily before shaking its fur of the excess water causing Denji to throw his hands up defensively.]

Aw c'mon dude!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot the other reason I'm here...What kinda name should I give him? I've just been callin' him doggo for like a month now. If anyone wants to meet him we're at the beach in Eltrut right now or you can hit me up later! Peace out!

[Denji definitely almost forgot about that deal he made with Emet given how busy he'd been taking care of his new puppy but now that he's been swiftly reminded the excitement comes rushing back.]

Oh shit that's right!! Guess I gotta get that to ya soon, huh!? How you making out on the TV old man??

[ He sighs to himself and turns on the video function. Despite his tone and manner, he actually doesn't mind waiting. He has all the time in the world. ]

I have some ideas for how to make a start. Some few people have kindly offered their knowledge and made suggestions. All that I'm waiting on now is an example of the format your world uses to store its media.

Guess that's where I come in, huh?!

[Forming his left hand tightly into a fist the boy ushers forth a firm nod in understanding.]

I'll getcha that disk don't you worry man. You just get the TV up and running I'll do the rest, alright!?

[ So energetic. Ah, youth... ]

Yes, yes. Remember that I do have an engine to oversee first. Good grief...

[ It feels so tiring to be working on a mortal schedule after idling for a century. ]

Make sure your dog doesn't slobber or chew on it. I would like it intact.

Oh yeah that's right! How's that comin' along by the way?! You gonna make a wicked motorboat or something with it!? That would blow every other ship outta the water for sure.

[Denji waves off the very notion of his canine companion getting ahold of his prized DVD after everything they've planned.]

Hell nah! He's got bones for that don't you worry that little ball in your forehead over it, alright?

[ He rolls his eyes but decides to...cautiously take Denji's word on the matter of his new canine companion. ]

...No. This will - I hope - be a proper ship that can sail the ocean. It will not be at the mercy of the winds or tides. Not unless the engine fails. We shall have to have emergency sails built in.

[nutsornothing]

[Cue the look of astonishment plastered over the boy's features at the prospect of a large scale boat capable of being powered by an engine similar to the one's back home. Given the lack of technology here it would surely be an impressive feat but you know what he'd be even more excited for? A television with the capabilities to play movies but one thing at a time he supposed even if he was a tad impatient.]

Damn that's pretty badass! I mean it's no TV but hey I'd sure like to take a ride on it someday when its all done.

[He's such a punk kid sorry Emet.]

That will depend entirely on the entity who possesses the first, working ship. Which I've yet to decide, by the way. The last thing I want is this being used for conquest.

[ Emet-Selch's expression doesn't change much but he does look...faintly stressed. ]

Well...I know my captain is more of the 'hero type' so I don't think he would try and rule the world or some shit if it went to our crew!

[The Seventh Heaven would be the most badass ship in all of Eltrut if it had an engine and a bar that was for damn sure.]

...I would not put so much faith in 'heroes' if I were you.

[ Any well-meaning person can justify horrendous acts for 'the greater good'. ]

No man believes themselves the villain of their own story.

Why not? I'm sorta a hero myself y'know dude!

[Maybe not as genuine as the majority of his Paladin crew especially considering his status as a Corsair personally but he still had a good heart at the end of the day even if his methods were a little unorthodox.]

I don't really know what that means but...I've done some shit I'm not proud of.

[ He scoffs lightly and shrugs. ]

That is what I mean. No hero is unblemished. Saving one person, or even one people, comes at the cost of another. There is no gain without sacrifice.

'Tis egotistical to think otherwise.

[ He sounds...bitter. ]

[Denji knows this all too well seeing many of his colleagues die before his very eyes, hell even killing one of his best friends by his own hand which haunts him to this very day. Sighing solemnly with a nod in agreement the feral teenager rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.]

Yeah...I've seen a lot of people die so I know how you feel man.

[This conversation turned into a real Debbie downer situation. It seems as though his newfound canine companion can tell Denji is a little upset, moving to jump up on its hind legs and licks his face causing him to smile sincerely and laugh a bit cheering him up.]

Guess you don't like talkin' about death, huh, buddy?

[ Bitter though he may be, Emet-Selch is used to having to shrug off his gripes. He huffs at the dog's antics. ]

Look after that creature well. They could save your life.

[Rubbing the back of his neck Denji kind of laughs half heartedly with a subtle nod of his head followed by a smug grin.]

Y'know that kinda already happened! He bit a guard in the nuts before he could shoot me in the face with their gun and made them miss their shot!

Oh? [ His lips twitch. ] Such a valiant act from a small fellow. Have you received any suggestions for its name yet?

[nutsornothing]

Small?! You see the size of this dog I could ride him like a horse dude!!

[As if to showcase the unnamed canine's size Denji kneels beside his pet which on all fours was taller than him. Tilting its head curiously the puppy jumps on top of the boy knocking him on his ass unceremoniously causing him to chuckle unabashedly with a nod of his head.]

Yeah a couple but nothing seems to be sticking so far...Got any ideas?

I legit had trouble thinking of a name for a dog Emet would suggest

[ He watches the two roughhouse for a little while, head propped up by the back of his hand as e thinks. ]

How about 'Yperaspisou'? A name worthy of a stout defender.

[When Emet puts forth the name for suggestion, Denji looks towards the feed with a tilt of his head in confusion, his unnamed canine companion mirroring him curiously with its tongue draped out the side of his mouth.]

Yerpa....huh!? I have no idea what that means or even how to say that right! What does that even mean!?

[ Yeah... That was probably too complicated for such a simple boy. ]

...Ypera will do. The original word means 'defender'. But I suppose 'ypera' is not so bad a name. That word means 'beyond'.

[He's so dumb, Emet. Why would you make him try and pronounce such a complicated name!?]

Defender? That would be a cool name then I guess but uh...I can't even say it right.

[Tilting his head curiously as he scratches the side of his face.]

Just what the hell language is that anyways though!?

[ He's terrible with pet names okay!! ]

[Does that mean you didn't have a pet name for Hythlodaeus? Eyebrow wiggle.]

Denji's oblivious statement is...oddly validating, in a way. He can't decide how he feels about it. ]

...I'm dead in my world, boy, and I'm the only one of my kind here. What use is there reviving my people's language?
