[ The video post starts up to reveal the faces of the Hamada brothers, along with what looks like a red suitcase beside Hiro. Their location isn’t anything special, just somewhere inland on Elrut right now, but the elder brother is smiling anyway. ]

Hello everyone, I’m Tadashi Hamada and this is my younger brother…

[ Tadashi motions to Hiro. The younger brother waves, smiling, and turns his gaze from Tadashi to the phone. ]

I’m Hiro! And this… [He gestures to the suitcase next to him before purposely pulling off a plaster from his knee. His ‘ow’ in instinctive response activates the robot inside, causing Baymax to inflate and turn on, introducing himself with a wave. ]

Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion. I was alerted to the need for medical attention when you said ‘ow’.

You’ll be seeing Baymax around one or both of us often, so we wanted to introduce him and ourselves. I’m also interested in finding out if anyone had a temporary charging solution seeing as how I haven’t come across a power outlet anywhere yet. [ Tadashi holds up the power cord on Baymax’s charging station for anyone who hasn’t seen anything like it before. ]

Yeah, I’m not sure if the technology here is necessarily compatible—at least, not without some adapting or figuring on our part. Baymax is the priority. Even if it would be cool to actually use my handheld, it won’t die on me eventually. Tadashi and I were both pretty good with tech back home, but this might take some adjusting.

[ Hiro says, a puff of air from his sigh shifting his mess of bangs before he raises his hands in reassuring Baymax that he was fine given the robot approaches and wants to check him over. ]

On a scale of one-to-ten…

[ Tadashi chuckles as he moves to end the video recording for the post while Baymax tends to Hiro. ]

What power source does Baymax operate from?

[Alhaitham doesn't know too much about tech in the way Kaveh does but he knows his husband will want to Know so he is here getting as much information as possible.]

[ They were decorating some moogle houses together, Mehrak was moving furniture. ]

Well, originally he was on a lithium ion battery, but he seems to be on a supercapacitor one now - both of which store voltage.

[ He noticed the change in batteries, but hasn't brought it up with Hiro yet. ]

Normally when he needs to recharge, he'd get into his charging station, which is plugged into an electrical socket in the wall that feeds off a city-wide power grid.

[Alhaitham has no idea what half of those words are but he's doing his best to make some guesses based on context. And maybe asking Kaveh about it later, since he's the one who fares better at tech.]

If power is what you need, magitech might be your best solution. From what I understand its usually served well as a replacement for many things that riftfarers come with.

[Unless you happen to luck out and have something powered by a Vision, much like Mehrak. Which is why it is in his opinion better sorry not sorry.]

[ Tadashi already knows that this isn't Kaveh, but it also means he has no idea who this is. Except someone close to Kaveh to have a picture of Mehrak. ]

Yeah, we sort of figured that. Our knowledge on the subject is still pretty limited, and Baymax will need charging sooner rather than later. I've talked to a few people who seemed to have been working with it already and wanted to contact them, and also wanted to introduce Baymax. Thought a network post was the most efficient way of doing both.

[ Unfortunately, there is no such thing as Visions in his world. No magic at all. ]

If you're looking for Kaveh, he's busy at the moment, and his availability will depend on his schedule.

[Yes he knows Kaveh will be all over this and Alhaitham is fine with that, but also he doesn't want his senior to immediately run off at the first sign of people needing help. It's not like Kaveh is the only one who can do this after all even if he is clearly and objectively the best in his totally unbiased opinion.]

[Yeah, guess who got caught! Kaveh looks a bit exasperated, but he brightens up into a smile shortly after.]

[ He really doesn't, but he's still glad that Kaveh is getting to see Baymax. Even over a video. ]

Professor Turo has offered his help, if we need more, I'll definitely look into those other options. For now, having his battery situation sorted out is good enough for me.

I'm glad his battery is sorted! I admit, I'm curious what energy sources he normally uses...I'd love to see him in person, if you have the time.

Hey, Mehrak! It's pretty neat that at least Baymax isn't the only one.

[He can make robot buddies? Maybe? Hiro thinks he recognizes the suitcase-looking robot from earlier. He initially wasn't sure if there might be others around. Given this place generally seemed to be less advanced and all that it didn't seem as likely to be able to figure that people were at the point where they could manage to pull off something like Baymax.]

[Mehrak is of course with Kaveh. Or currently charging. One of the two, either way. Point of the matter is that the toolbox is not with him.]

Oh, right. It's a picture. I wasn't sure if it was them with you. Sure. Tell them I say hi. Baymax, too. It'd probably be good for them to meet and for him to make some new friends.

[Still. The more friends and allies that they make in this strange new place, the better. He figures by Tadashi being Tadashi that the other would probably make more friends than he would, but Hiro doesn't necessarily mind that. As long as they manage to build up some support.]

[The older of the two did say that they know about Kaveh after all... so in all likelihood Kaveh will see them again eventually. His senior goes around far too often to not end up bumping into somebody he knows, even in a place like this.]

It mentioned that it is a 'healthcare companion'. What does that specifically entail?

I have. But ah, Tadashi can probably go into the specifics more. But Baymax can look after someone if they are sick or hurt. He's programmed with all sorts of procedures and medical information. And lollipops!

[Clearly important. Can't forget the lollipops.]

[...lollipops are a strange, specific thing but okay.]

I see. [So it acts as the first line of defense for injury and illness... its hard to not see the benefit of such a creation. Kaveh will certainly be all over it.] I assume the design is also intentional.

[It does look very... squishy. Which, he supposes, doesn't matter too much, since its not built like Mehrak to withstand the conditions of the desert, but still.]

Oh, yeah. Tadashi was going for a friendly, non-threatening, huggable kind of look. You know. For the kids, Baymax might treat them at hospitals or something, I guess — that sort of thing.

[Hiro says with a shrug but smiles as he glances at Baymax. It took him a bit of adjusting to having Baymax around. Now? He can't imagine being without the other since Tadashi's death and how much Baymax has supported him. Believed him. He had to make the most of it by finding the chip again and rebuilding the big walking marshmallow. Hiro wouldn't have it any other way. But of course, the conditions in the city were decidedly different to accommodate the sort of environment that might be dealt with in the desert.]

[Alhaitham does at least understand enough of design to grasp the concept of non threatening designs, which he can see how this Baymax fits the bill. Doubly so since children had been mentioned... he can see how they'd respond positively to this.

And also once again Alhaitham can only imagine how Kaveh would be like once he gets to see this for himself.]

The both of you intend to continue down this path, then.

[More of a statement than a question, but its out there, either way.]

I mean, we both want to do what we can to help. Whether with tech, with something like Baymax, or helping people who get hurt or sick. But, uh, you'd need to talk to Tadashi. He's the one who made him.

[Hiro knows how Baymax operates. More or less. Given he also used Tadashi's plans and concepts to rebuild Baymax. Not that he has told Tadashi about that. Yet. He's not sure how to begin to go into all that. He isn't sure if he is ready to.]

[Hm. Alhaitham was under the impression that Baymax was a joint project between the two of them. Hiro at the very least seems just as familiar with Baymax as his brother.]
