Type: Video
Sender ID: peopleneedyou (Tadashi Hamada) featuring; Hiro Hamada (baymaxing) & Baymax
To: Everyone
Subject: Meet the Hamadas and Baymax
Warnings: None
[ The video post starts up to reveal the faces of the Hamada brothers, along with what looks like a red suitcase beside Hiro. Their location isn’t anything special, just somewhere inland on Elrut right now, but the elder brother is smiling anyway. ]
Hello everyone, I’m Tadashi Hamada and this is my younger brother…
[ Tadashi motions to Hiro. The younger brother waves, smiling, and turns his gaze from Tadashi to the phone. ]
I’m Hiro! And this… [He gestures to the suitcase next to him before purposely pulling off a plaster from his knee. His ‘ow’ in instinctive response activates the robot inside, causing Baymax to inflate and turn on, introducing himself with a wave. ]
Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion. I was alerted to the need for medical attention when you said ‘ow’.
You’ll be seeing Baymax around one or both of us often, so we wanted to introduce him and ourselves. I’m also interested in finding out if anyone had a temporary charging solution seeing as how I haven’t come across a power outlet anywhere yet. [ Tadashi holds up the power cord on Baymax’s charging station for anyone who hasn’t seen anything like it before. ]
Yeah, I’m not sure if the technology here is necessarily compatible—at least, not without some adapting or figuring on our part. Baymax is the priority. Even if it would be cool to actually use my handheld, it won’t die on me eventually. Tadashi and I were both pretty good with tech back home, but this might take some adjusting.
[ Hiro says, a puff of air from his sigh shifting his mess of bangs before he raises his hands in reassuring Baymax that he was fine given the robot approaches and wants to check him over. ]
On a scale of one-to-ten…
[ Tadashi chuckles as he moves to end the video recording for the post while Baymax tends to Hiro. ]

[Just at the bottom of the shellphone's camera was- well the peeking bright blue LED-like eyes of a curious robotic creature.]
I have created a few during my time here already.

[ The marshmallow is trying to communicate with the penguin-looking creature. ]
That sounds great. It wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade Baymax with that kind of battery. As for his charging station, maybe an external power source for it to plug into. Hiro and I have talked about getting other tech from home which will encounter the same problem.

Hi! Hi! Hello!
Bundle was certainly energetic- and reason Turo shifting the phone enough for it to see better.]
I work mostly with crystals and gems, refining them so their magical energies can be used to generate power. I am sure that something can be figured out- and I have been working on various prototypes for a charger during some of my spare time. I would be more than happy for the both of you to see what may be managed.
no subject
Tadashi will let Turo handle the question, since he only knows the overall name for them. ]
We've only scratched the surface on learning about magitech so far, certainly not enough to keep Baymax powered up long-term. [ They're quick studies, but not that quick. ] Whenever you've got time, we can come by with Baymax to put our heads together on this.
no subject
[At least for the moment Bundle was occupied and happy to interact as well as they could.]
Magitech has come quite a way since it was first being explored- something of a boom, even if it went more towards weapons with the larger community. I am still exploring uses for convenience, such as lamps and the like. This would fall into my study of better ways to keep them powered. [All was well and good if something worked, but a reliable power source was a Need.] I likely should take a break from studying various samples taken from Snaxburg Isle sooner rather than later-
When you have time to stop by the Cosmo Conservatory on Eltrut I will be there.
no subject
I'm more interested in building things to help people, so if you ever need a hand with items of convenience, just let me know. Hiro and I are hoping to get our computer and 3D printer soon, and I've had some practice in using machines to create parts by hand. [ Those two electronic devices are one main reason Tadashi was hoping for an external solution to Baymax's charging station. ]
Our schedule is pretty open today, so we could come by after lunch.
no subject
I certainly will, as more hands are often better than a single pair- more so when it comes to actually creating prototypes of a certain size. Running initial tests before open testing as well. [Flashlights were working out well so far- but needed better designing for some, possibly--]
After lunch would do well, I have free time around then and will be within the clinic.
no subject
We certainly know a few things about running initial tests. [ He looks at Baymax. ] Baymax and I went through eight-four of them before he could scan me without running into problems. It was a lot of late nights.
Then we'll be there.

... their presence were something of a comfort, whenever Turo allowed himself to think about it.]
I am sure that it was. He seems rather remarkable, the work and time put in shining through very well.
I look forward to it.

[ This feels like important knowledge to Baymax, if he is to understand Iron Bundle. And Pokemon, in general.
Tadashi, on the other hand, is standing here watching Baymax expand his data like a proud creator. ]
I definitely couldn't have done it alone. My knowledge of medicine doesn't extend that far.
no subject
The mystery as to how they came to be like this was part of why I found their existence so fascinating.
[A hand rested there on top of Bundle's head, that visible 'smile' with the way eyes lit up noticeable, along with a happy digital trill-like honk.]
Many helping hands can certainly better extend the reach of a project, the amount of data used. There were many hands and minds working together within the crater once, but they moved on once a way to harness energy was created. Still, it's always nice to see just how far something made can go.
[... even if he wondered if there would be any pride in him, what he'd had to do.]
no subject
[ It's basically all of the scans a hospital could do, without all that waiting or other necessities. ]
Yeah, I'm hoping that Baymax gets the chance to help a lot of people. How many are still investigating the crater now?
[ People got something to play with, their interests took them away. It does happen. ]
no subject
[A reason he fell into looking after the wildlife here that needed it, the time taken on other islands and for those that ended up at the animal sanctuary he helped Nanaki open. He still held so much passion for it.]
Hopefully he does. For the last several years it has only be myself, as the area is dangerous most are not allowed past the Zero Gate at the top of the crater. It takes some special permission, given that. The pokémon are my only company, really.

[Hiro brightens at that. He hopes to be able to figure something out for Baymax quickly. Sooner rather than later so they don't need to worry about the battery so much. So he could be on and out and about without worrying about him draining it. Hiro doesn't relish the idea of dealing with that too often. And he'd rather figure out a solution before having Baymax active all the time.
But of course, he is distracted by the other on the screen, just.]
...Is that another one of those creatures? Looks like a....penguin?
no subject
[There was a tip of the camera- and Bundle soon enough being better in view.]
It is, yes. This would be Iron Bundle, they resemble what is known as a Delibird in my world to some degree.
[A very happy Bundle, giving the sort of almost musical note noises being made.]
no subject
[Hiro says with a sigh, gesturing to Baymax that he is fine. The robot quickly seems distracted with the phone, seeing the others Hiro and Tadashi are talking to, the other creatures and all.]
A Delibird? Huh. I guess you said there were a lot of other creatures. I just wasn't sure how many others there were. Or how many others you might have here with you.
no subject
Which, of course, I would be happy to help find what may be best for your needs.
[Bundle was rather happy just- well, at times it just seemed to be a bright blue blank sort of stare. At least it was happy?]
Indeed, they are known to carry their food in a bag with them all day long, but will also throw said food as a distraction if they feel threatened. They are also popular as mascots around winter holidays, and there is even a popular store that uses Delibird as a mascot. [Bit of an odds and ends store, but a valued one.] There are well over one-thousand different species of Pokemon that exist in my world.
I only have Miraidon, Iron Bundle, Iron Moth, Iron Valiant, and Iron Thorns currently with me.
no subject
[Hiro leans in more to get a better look at Bundle, his head tilting a little as he listens.]
Wait. Wait. So, there are over 1,000 of these? They just sound like our animals and stuff back home, then? Or do you still have regular animals as well?
no subject
Simply things like an outside force draining the battery, it never hurts to have something to rely on in such emergencies. [Of course that recharge 'station' of sorts was something that had gone higher on his list just some months ago, and had tested. Very sure he could make another to go with a power source that would work here.
There was that 'smile' in those eyes from Bundle, along with some primo dial-up tones as a flipper-like arm waved.]
Some of them are just like animals, while others have the intelligence of a young child- some greater. A few are powerful enough to control concepts such as Time and Space, or are considered God-like and had part in creating the world and other Pokémon as well. There are also new species of pokémon discovered, or those thought gone come across again.
Part of my work as a Pokemon Professor has been likened to that of a biologist.
no subject
[If it's for Baymax, they need all the help they can get. Plus, the more people that know more about this place and technology combined the better. For Hiro and Tadashi to learn from in how to adapt to things here. Hiro blinks, his head tilting slightly as he considers what the other says.]
God-like, huh? Pretty impressive. I guess a biologist might be something similar. Or, well, they're animals, right? I guess that counts as biology but, like, really broad since there are so many different kinds of these creatures, these Pokémon?
no subject
[Turo had made a habit, to make sure he could leave something solid for others to use if anything did ever happen to him. Thorough with his own thoughts on possible other ways things could be applicated- there would always be room for improvement, or for someone else to adapt and reuse that knowledge.
At least the diagram sketches along with them could be useful.]
One is said to have created the world, pokémon, and people. Really, the history alongside various myths and legends is quite fascinating and can vary region to region. You would be correct, and a reason my studies tend to envelop quite a few categories to try and cover it all- even if it is specialized to the region I am from, taking the time to read the work of other professors never hurts. More so when Pokémon travel and can develop into a variant to better suit a region that one in particular becomes natural to.
no subject
[Hiro grins, nodding in thanks before he considers, listening to what the other says.]
I guess that would make sense. It's like how some animals are from certain areas or countries, specifically back home. It's the same for these creatures. And they evolve to adapt to the environment — yeah, that tends to happen over time back home, too.
no subject
Animals are amazing creatures- and very much can tell what may be going on in an environment for a long period of time, and the plants for a short period of time- or far longer, depending. I have focused some of my studies on that here, all to better understand how magic is so interwoven in this world.
Reason I was able to develop a sort of battery that could recharge by simply being left to absorb the ambient energies.
no subject
What you're saying there sounds like solar - I mean, back home, with some things getting energy from the sun? But obviously, here it might be more like energy from the magic around or something, is that it?
[Baymax, for his part, merely listens, for now, curious and trying to learn what he can from this conversation. ]
no subject
[Just apply it to people being able to manipulate such power.
Turo nodded-]
Something akin to that, yes. Magic is in the very air we breathe, the soil, and the water; this world is saturated with magical energy and so this battery is able to use that and convert to to power to store and use.
