[Given the field, and edge of a forest just within sight, it could be guessed that Turo was somewhere within Cosmo Conservatory on Eltrut; sitting there in the tall grass as a bit of fog forming could also be seen. Those who remembered his plushie announcement could likely spot both familiar creatures vaguely there and- well.
A lively nest just within the hollow of a fallen tree; the eggs no longer eggs.]
I am happy to announce that there are now several hatched Cloud Hoppers, healthy, with a proud set of parents just as lively and active-
[—and that was a bark, followed by the sound of something loping in and half knocking into Turo from behind, the strange looking dog popping up with paws over his shoulders and panting. Head tipped so one eye was on the shellphone and the light indicating the camera was on. A bright set of feathers behind those ears bobbing a little with all of the movement.]
-and I suppose my new friend wishes to introduce herself. Has anyone here happened to have see a dog like this before?
[As said dog deliberately flopped right into his lap, tail wagging; something perhaps a little odd in how one eye remained focused sharply still on the shellphone.]
A pack of them seem to have been exploring the sanctuary grounds, peacefully at least. She is the only one to have broken off from them. I must admit that some of their markings remind me of a creature from my home region.
[...was— did the dog just huff out a small curl of fire?]

Door was kept open when he was presently there, and the sign said either he was there but out on the grounds somewhere, or that he was currently too busy to be disturbed.]
Again, I do thank you for making the time to speak with me. Quite a bit has come up between now, and the moment within that abyssal crater after all.
no subject
I was wondering what you wanted to discuss. Is it about your little eye problem?
[Well, maybe not "problem," but.]
no subject
Scan complete—
Attention turning to Cid as a hand rested within a pocket of of slacks.]
Less of a problem, and more part of the fact I am not human. Some would argue if I was a living being or not as well, I suppose.
no subject
Cid watches with some fascination before his eyes widen a little startled.]
Not human? And not a living being... So if not a—a spirit or "god" or something of the like, then what exactly are you?
[Said more curiously than out of wariness. He's known Turo long enough, if the man wanted to commit violence or something of ill nature then he would have by now.]
no subject
[With a blink those eyes were back to- somewhat normal. A brief scan with those lines, and a lighting up of red and blue lights somewhere behind his eyes, and then the return of those warm brown eyes.
A hand smoothed back over is hair, the movement idle.]
The Professor created me using a scan of his own brain, giving me all of his knowledge and majority of his memories outside of that. He did so because he needed help, but did not want to re-train someone to know how to do everything.
no subject
So you...are basically a copy of himself? That takes a level of intellect and skill that I could never imagine.
[And a new take on doing something for oneself.]
no subject
Essentially. I was his assistant, and for years it was simply the two of us working within a crater. [A pause, and there was just the faintest of frowns.] Though I will admit that on some subjects my thoughts differed, given some things were cut out while working on what would become my 'brain'.
There is nothing else like me in the world I come from, and my existence is not public knowledge. Honestly? Only he knew, and then his son along with three other young trainers found out when they reached the lab I was locked within.
[There was more to it, but that wasn't the subject of the matter at hand.]
no subject
So why are you telling me?
[Really, besides the strange eye thing, he hadn't seen anything amiss. Granted, he hasn't been around Turo that much, so for all he knows he might have exhibited some other skills or qualities that would cause question.]

[Chris was one person he trusted in what he was going to bring up, and there was also Dojima's help. Here- well, Rem trusted this man to some degree to move into his crew and Turo's trust in her had always been high.]
There has been a time where I was, for lack of any other word for it, nearly killed due to my power core nearly being completely drained; along with quite a bit of damage sustained. I am still being careful, as recovery took longer than I would like to admit given everything it took to repair me had to be hand made nearly on the spot.
... I cannot make everything, and I know Dojima has been practicing making the copper wires incase I am damaged in some way again. One other has been helping, but their identity is for them to reveal if they ever wish to. [Chris was very careful who they let know what they could do.]
You are an inventor in your own right, your work with magitech here alone has shown that. Dojima has certainly impressed upon me, along with the other, that I need to be careful- as well as worry about my own health, which is complicated given this world and the worry of what could happen if too many knew of my nature.
no subject
...And you wish for my help for your..."maintenance," perhaps even something to better secure your core?
[It's frankly quite surprising given they only met a few times, as well as a little troubling as he wonders if he's up to the ask.]
no subject
Some of it I can perform myself, and others- well, would be rather difficult. I've created a way to charge my power in emergency situations, and there is always refining that over time.
If nothing else, you may also have a better eye for those who could also help- Dojima has often said I may be... too trusting. [There was a faint sort of- laugh? These days those gestures once mimicked were far more natural; not thought about, given he was simply being himself-] I know it is quite the big ask, either way.
What my core is made of is unique, and has grown through quite a few of my physical form given it is what makes up my 'brain' as well. I have no doubt my core could do with a looking over, as you mentioned, as well.
no subject
To be frank, this would be far out of my field of expertise. However, I do know a few young lads who may be more familiar with your kind of tech and may be better to adapt to it. Have you met the Yamada brothers?
no subject
[He remembered both introducing Baymax as well, asking about ways to keep him charged and simply to introduce him.]
They are fine boys, and both quite clever with how either speak of the other.
no subject
[A friendly wink because yes, he is an opportunist even if he doesn't always show it.]
I'd wager they'd be able to help should you ask. And of course, while my skills are quite limited, I'll still help you where I can.
I can also promise that everything we've spoken of will be kept strictly confidential.
no subject
[Along with the door of Cosmo Conservatory's clinic being open whenever they wanted to drop by- but that aside.
A small nod.]
You are likely right, they both are passionate about helping and- well, my unique nature perhaps easier for that. Your help will be appreciated still, and we do have a few things to discuss, if you are still interested in those metal 'punch cards', so something mutually beneficial there.
I had a feeling you would, and I am glad to hear it.
no subject
By the "punch cards," you mean those cards found in the Abyss?
[And once again there's that light of curious interest in his eyes.]
no subject
Turo did walk to the bag hanging onto the back of a chair with his lab coat, pulling one of those metal cards out; of course he kept a couple on hand to study. Holding it up as added confirmation.]
I do. I have been creating an alphabet of my own to translate into punch-marks, to sort of test the theory; just the start of creating cards and a machine that could read the marks.
Helping to create that machine, however, may certainly fall into your skillset.
no subject
no subject
[There was a little movement to his hands, a gesture even with the 'punch card' in hand as he spoke.]
A metal box, wires- essentially teaching metal, stone, and mineral to perform simple tasks depending on what else you can add to it. Far less complicated that my own brain, but it is where every single piece of technology such as computers started.
no subject
But this other machine does seem more doable, moreso if I had some schematics to work off of.
no subject
[The metal card was set aside as Turo moved to grab one of several sketch books and a pencil, doing something in an open page as he spoke-]
I may be able to give you something to start with off my memory. History is important, and knowing where things once started is a well learned lesson. Some materials could be harder to get, but there are alternatives that exist here.
no subject
Have you tried finding anything in the archives about this machine? Records to indicate they once existed or their use?
no subject
If that was what they were. Could even be something musical.]
Much is lost, but there are certain legends that have spoken that this world was filled with something... more advanced, for lack of better phrasing at the moment; like the shellphones.

I am one of a kind, as nothing else like me exists there. [What made his creation possible also made the Time Machine possible as well.
Hell of a thing, honestly.]
