[Given the field, and edge of a forest just within sight, it could be guessed that Turo was somewhere within Cosmo Conservatory on Eltrut; sitting there in the tall grass as a bit of fog forming could also be seen. Those who remembered his plushie announcement could likely spot both familiar creatures vaguely there and- well.
A lively nest just within the hollow of a fallen tree; the eggs no longer eggs.]
I am happy to announce that there are now several hatched Cloud Hoppers, healthy, with a proud set of parents just as lively and active-
[—and that was a bark, followed by the sound of something loping in and half knocking into Turo from behind, the strange looking dog popping up with paws over his shoulders and panting. Head tipped so one eye was on the shellphone and the light indicating the camera was on. A bright set of feathers behind those ears bobbing a little with all of the movement.]
-and I suppose my new friend wishes to introduce herself. Has anyone here happened to have see a dog like this before?
[As said dog deliberately flopped right into his lap, tail wagging; something perhaps a little odd in how one eye remained focused sharply still on the shellphone.]
A pack of them seem to have been exploring the sanctuary grounds, peacefully at least. She is the only one to have broken off from them. I must admit that some of their markings remind me of a creature from my home region.
[...was— did the dog just huff out a small curl of fire?]

They likely could do very well here, as so far they rather observe than bother the animals one could fear a roving pack of 'wild' dogs might bother. Actually appear as if they are more guard dog than wild, and come by it naturally.
[Turo didn't mind the display, Mari simply dot another scritching when she resettled after that.]
It isn't unheard of in my own world, given the creatures there all have natural abilities very much like that. Houndoom comes to mind, a creature that is both Fire and Dark type, which resembles a dog to some larger degree.
no subject
[Denji tilting his head a bit confusedly at the mention of this other creature Turo brought up with fire and dark...types? What exactly was that supposed to mean!?]
What the hell is a Houndoom?!
no subject
[Turo seemed to hand his phone to something... unseen for the moment, going into his bag and pulling out a book. Flipping through until reaching a page to a sketch that was extremely life-like, along with several of the dog-like creature in various poses.
Which he held up to be well seen.]
Houndoom is a creature from my world, one of many species of Pokémon. It is capable of breathing fire much like Mariposa and the others. Given I do not have my rotomphone with me, I have been working on a book showcasing pokémon for those curious about them.
no subject
Dude you drew those that is pretty damn good!
[A beat as he nods in understanding slowly beginning to realize these 'Pokémon' were some kind of magical creatures capable of all sorts of different abilities by the sounds of it.]
So these "Pokémon" are like animals from your world but can do all kinds of wild stuff like breath fire? That's fricken badass!
no subject
[Something he let himself do more so here, including certain landscapes and buildings. Still-]
Indeed. The 'types' I mentioned before categorizes them, as you have pokémon with single types, and some with dual types. Houndoom being Fire and Dark means its species is dual typed. This more or less tells you what sort of abilities it has, along with what it would be strong or weak against.
no subject
[Scratching the back of his head, Denji tries to process all this information at once slowly nodding with a frazzled expression.]
Uh...Okay. So all these Pokémon do different things!? Damn...How do you keep track of all this man!?
no subject
[Was coming in handy, in a way, here. Technically.]
They do, and it is part of my job. These days there are things known as pokédexes that keep up with it for their owners, and in the Region I am from it was turned into a phone application. There are also new species of Pokémon being found in various regions.
He's so dumb I'm sorry lmao
[Nonchalantly slipping that in like it was no big deal. Scrunching his nose a bit as Denji tries to understand these 'Pokédexes' and everything else in between, the boy simply blinks wide in astonishment with a shrug of his shoulders raising his palms to the sky in turn admittedly confused.]
Sounds like a lot of stuff you gotta remember hurts my brain just trying to think about it to be honest.
He speaks the truth lmao
[The way it was spoken, it almost seemed as if it could be common, but then again there was always some mixed opinions about school; especially from those attending.]
It is quite a lot, and reason it is considered quite the accomplishment to reach the status of Pokémon Professor. It takes quite the many years of research and study, but it is a passion for the world, pokémon, and people alike that aides in doing so.
no subject
I sure do! But I'm kinda gonna start going to school soon actually. A girl I know is going to teach me some stuff and to make some cool shit together!
[The thought alone causes him to smile inwardly as he thinks back to the intimate conversation the pair had none too recently. Midadol was a kindhearted person who genuinely wanted to help better him, something to which he was not accustomed to before coming here to Escordvi's shores.]
That's pretty badass so basically know everything about these Pokémon?
no subject
['Make some cool shit together' registered as that anyway. Made it far more fun, and that element certainly meant lessons stuck out and was held on far better that simply memorizing it.]
Essentially. Made quite a few discoveries being taught as well.
no subject
[Denji always was a 'hands on' kind of guy who excelled at using brawn instead of brains most of the time but if he was to become a student of Mid's would have to instill both in her teachings.]
So what's the coolest thing you've ever discovered?
no subject
Uva Academy encourage students to follow their hearts in whatever path they wish to take, a reason for the annual Treasure Hunt after all.
[Strength, knowledge, skill- whatever. It catered to different learning paths and simply wanted students to essentially find who they are and what they valued most in life.]
Pokémon from some time in the future is something pretty high up there for 'coolest thing' I believe. I have a few of them with me here as well.
no subject
Pokémon...What now? Trainers? Do they work out with them or something like gym rats!?
[God he is so dumb. The latter part about the professor having some Pokémon of his own here in Escordvi catches his attention though, sitting up from his position with an excitable expression plastered over his face.]
You got some of those things here!? I gotta see them!
no subject
Together they embark on adventures to grow stronger together, and form a bond that can at times enable them to do the near impossible.
[Such as beat an obsessed battle program and save all of Paldea—]
I have most of my own pokémon team here, yes. Here-
[There was a slight tip of his camera, and just to the side there was Miraidon hovering nearby, investigating something within the trees.]
That would be Miraidon.
no subject
[It kind of reminds him of all the adventures him and Pochita went on through the course of their time together, looking after each others backs as they struggled to survive everyday in their crazed world.
When the camera pans towards Miraidon, Denji blinks wide in amazement as his face leans closer to his own shellphone to get a better look at the massive creature.]
Yoooooo is that some kinda dragon!?
no subject
[Miraidon had perked up at the sound of it's 'name' more or less, hovering over as its head tilted. One large LED-like eye focused on the phone as Turo placed a hand just against the side of the large Pokémon's neck.]
In part, yes. Also known as Iron Serpent, Miraidon is a Dragon Type, along with Electric. Quite powerful, and has done well in helping me get out of certain situations with its strength since our arrival here.
no subject
[Just casually throwing his untimely demise in there as a means of showboating his confidence on the matter at hand. When the Pokémon enters the feed more closely to lurk over Turo's shoulder, Denji cannot help but stare with a slack jawed expression.]
The Iron Serpent, eh!? That's a pretty sick nickname! I'd totally want a Pokémon of my own but Cal is more than enough to help me out in a fight.
[At the mention of his name the massive Irish Wolfhound hops onto his back with its paws draped on either side of the boy's neck, barking out loudly as if to agree with his master before licking his cheek a few times causing Denji to chuckle out unabashedly.]
He's a lot tougher than he looks! We fought together when I first saved him and bit a guard right square in the nuts before they could shoot me.
no subject
[Ha ha what the fuck—]Depending on the Pokémon's attitude and strength- well, some are powerful enough to create natural disasters simply from their temper. These creatures are tied to nature in various ways, some of them quite literally. Some have the intelligence of people to varying degrees, while others are more like animals- or a mix. Others may evolve due to their hatred for their trainer if treated poorly, simply won't listen if they deem you weak. There are quite a few factors, but in the end a loyal pokémon may even give their life to save you.
They are, as a whole, incredible beings that are a large reason humanity even survived in my world.
[Spoken like someone who cared deeply for them, fascination still carried and simply taking a bit of joy in speaking about them. Still, it did sound as if Denji could handle it if there was ever some universe that gave him that chance.
Miraidon rested their head on Turo's shoulder, and the creature really was quite large even in comparison to Turo. Watching still with some interest.]
It sounds as if you have a very loyal companion, and Cal a very good friend in turn that the same could be said.
no subject
[These Pokémon seemed pretty wild though reminding him somewhat of the different types of devil that manifested in his world taking on the characteristics of their appointed namesake. Sure they were all evil for the most part but there was a selective few outliers who used their powers for good but they were very few and far between.
Patting Cal on the side of his neck, Denji grins wide with a firm nod of his head in affirmation.]
Hell yeah he does.
[It only now dawns on him that he'd yet to introduce himself, pointing a thumb towards his chest.]
Name's Denji by the way!
no subject
[Some were very territorial, and others far more friendly. Really, it depended on the pokémon more often than not.
There was a nod then.]
A pleasure, Denji. I am Professor Turo, or simply Turo if you would rather.
no subject
[Pointing a thumb to his chest with a satisfied grin plastered over his lips.]
Nice to meet ya Professor Turo! So how long ya been looking after the animals at the conservatory?
no subject
... well, there is one known pokémon that would do such a thing, to the point it is the only 'evil' pokémon to exist.
[With rumors to have some control over certain... political things. Hm.]
Since it was opened- I am it's co-owner alongside Red, as we created it together.
no subject
[A brief pause as he blinks wide eyed, rubbing the back of his neck with a hushed burst of laughter in mild embarrassment.]
Oh for real!? Guess I have you to thank for taking in all the dogs me and Eustace saved from that rich asshole's island.
no subject
[Battles for survival in the wild, but exercise and growing stronger when teamed with a trainer.
There was a soft smile, all the same.]
I am glad they were taken off that island as well, they have been much happier.

A good place to wrap this one I feel?
Feels like, yeah!
